Way to get that first shot off!  Watching these makes me hurt.  I can almost keep up with the pace of your shooting, but that draw to first shot is really what makes a great plate rack run.  I waste far too much time there.  Looks like you are going to get along just fine with that Atlas.

    Thanks!

  2. Hit the Plate rack for the first time in a while. First time shooting plates with my new Atlas Open gun. Here's three clean runs in a row. I put up a personal best before this of 2.45 which I have video of too. I'll measure the distance next time Im there. I think its at least 10 yards. Looking at some other vidoes I swear the plates at my club are nowhere near the size of some I see out there. :)

  3. I think perception definitely changes over time. When I started shooting about 4 years ago the first time I tried a 124 I thought it was gold. I hated 147 at that time for some reason too. After a couple years into this I had some 147 laying around so I loaded them up and tried them again. I happened to have 124 loaded up the same day and I was surprised that my perception changed. I wasn't convinced either one was better than the other but the felt different that's for sure. So yea perception changes over time but I don't think one weight is the "best" so I haven't played around with bullet weights all that much lately. There's no holy grail. Different stokes for different folks.

  4. Im another one on the would never give CK any business based on the K (keigans) attitude and character I have seen from his Social media posts. Speaking your mind is fine, you dont have to be a dink (other words came to mind but I settled) to speak your mind and make a point. You dont even have to be looking for it to see, look at enough competition related facebook posts and sooner or later if CK is mentioned he will pop up and fulfill the expectation.

You mentioned it was your EVO grip , are you doing this to your Atlas built open gun ?

And If so, how do you like shooting the gun in general ? Hows it running for you ?

It is a great looking gun by the way.

Thanks, I am talking about the Atlas gun. I want to do it to the Atlas but at the same time I am hesitant to take a dremel to the gun that I just dropped some serious coin on. So far this gun is treating me very good. Ive tried to log how many rounds I've shot so far and I've put 1400 rounds so far, all flawless. I have only got to shoot one match so far so most of those rounds were in practice but I am really looking forward to shooting this thing this season if the weather ever comes around up here. Performance wise this gun runs and is top notch. I've dryfired the shit out of this thing so far and the magwell is pretty chewed up anyway so thats what got me thinking about rounding off the inside of the grip.

Shmella, I did not use a file for the magwell.  Sanding drums will take care of it all and it goes quickly.  I did it in small steps and there is a lot of meat in those areas.

I have to try it now. The finish is getting dinged up in there anyway from jamming mags in it so I'm running out of excuses not to give it a try. Thanks

Same issue. Worked on one grip so far and big difference. Hard to tell in pic.  Rounded the front and removed the side edges.

Looking at this picture it looks like you did a very good job. This is exactly what I envisioned the end product to look like but have yet to have the balls to try it. I have a dremel and some beefy files but I think I need to pick up some more precise files and sand paper to make mine look anything close to yours.

I've got one big stick that doesn't drop free that I had to tap in a few places.

The one thing I've noticed is when doing a mag change, if the mag is at a 45 or so angle rotated to the opening, it will wedge in to one of the front grooves cut inside the grip.  What I mean by grooves are on the front, there is the ramp area in the center and then the corners have a ramped rounded cut which creates a nice area to wedge the mag tight if you don't come straight in with it.  I may take a dremel here to try and open this up a bit to keep it from happening. Never had this with plastic grips.

This is the most frustrating thing and it happens to me several times per day when dryfiring. Super annoying! First metal grip I have is the Evo and I assumed that all the metal grips did this. I have also thought about taking a dremel to the grip to round things off. The design is a perfect recipe for this disaster. I noticed with STI mags it happens more often than MBX Due to the shape of the mag. I have thought about changing entirely over to MBX mags to lessen the chance of this happening. I can throw mags into a plastic grip all day but go to the steel grip and wedge them in there far too frequently. Let me know If you do ever attack the grip with a dremel. I am reluctant to do this because my grip is finished DLC Black and would rather have the coating on there instead of exposed metal.

  9. Theyre finally "affordable" Price dropped on them everywhere comparing to how much they cost about 6 months ago.  Regarding the lot of them selling in the classifieds, I'm assuming some got a bunch on a discount to resell them on here. They are worth the money. I love mine.

  10. Thread revive. Round under Follower fix? Had a round roll under the follower on an mbx 140 with only 10 rounds loaded. I tilted the follower prior as per Atlas video recommends to prevent it but still happened. What is the short fix for this specific problem? it has only happened with this one mag one time but one time is too many for my liking and I dont want it happening again.

  11. I have run 1000 rds at major pf through my new open gun all blue bullets 125 gr at 1350-1400fps. No leading that I can see so far. There is a small amount of carbon I believe but not nearly as gunked up as you would believe if you read all the posts on here saying not to do it. I haven't been scared off of continuing to use the blues yet. Not sure if you can see much from this picture but there ain't much in there.

is it possible to train for a faster trigger finger / faster splits?

I'm talking just raw trigger speed with little to no concern for accuracy.   my average split is approx .22   I can on rare occasion get a .19/.18.  prepped trigger reaction time .20.     I know some people are naturally hard wired for fast twitch....

Have i maxed my human potential @ .22?

    Is this speed trainable?

  13. I say yes it can be improved. When I was in my early teenage years I played a lot of Paintball (speedball) with hair trigger guns and firing the gun was as easy as a mouse click. You use a two finger technique to press the trigger, once with your index finger and once with your middle finger as fast as you can when playing Speedball. Me and my friends would tap on pens with our fingers or click a mouse as fast as we could to try and hit as many rounds a second as possible. I noticed a huge improvement in finger speed with some practice. So my take is yes you can pull the trigger faster by practicing just that.
