  1. You must have a good batch of brass you use. Tula brass and jacketed bullets was a bad combination for me. ive had a few rounds that have locked up my guns where it was very difficult to get the round out of the barrel and wouldn't go fully into battery so I couldn't fire the round. That's what made me start case gauging. I'd call that hazardous because I essentially had a loaded gun that I couldn't unload.

  2. I ended up picking up a big butt grip and like it a lot more than the Miculek grip. Has more meat and I feel more in control. Like others have said the big butt gives your weak hand some purpose as it can finally grab something. I guess you have to try it to see. Also makes drawing easier to grab the grip in the right place for me at least. With the Miculek Grip I would grab too low sometimes. The butt cures that problem.

  3. I like the Vortex Venom or whatever the name is with the 6 moa dot in it.

I wonder how they would hold up???

I would actually like to use it on my steel gun, not my USPSA gun. You can give up weight there because you have a steel grip.

I can't give up weight on my Open gun, I have a plastic grip.

I just put a venom on my revolver. I'll be sure to report on it when I get some more time on it.

  4. PD's to me are better than the MG's.

The PD's seal better in your barrel, .355 compared to PD .356

PD's are a very accurate bullet also.

I liked the Zero's best out of all 3.

But now I use the blue bullet. Very accurate, 1/2 the cost literally. I'm tired of paying for JHP's for punching paper.

I see no leading in my comp, and from videos, they are not smokey.

precision delta website says .355 for all of their 9mm bullets. What are they??

  5. So is this what everyone is talking about when they say the crown needs to be recut? Not sure how clear the pictures show it but the inside edges are very jagged and the outside edges are also choppy. This was the first time I looked close at the end of the barrel without the cap on. Disregard the dirtyness.

  6. As I'm sitting here switching back and forth from dry firing, playing Zuma on the computer, looking at the Enos forums, and watching the news, it dawned on me that you're a bunch of sick individuals. But, I'm proud to be one of you. Anyhow, I find that I'm faster if I react to the first sign of red and kind of in my peripheral, rather than seeing the whole stop sign. Kind of like how we react to the shot timer....reacting to the B in the beep, instead of waiting for the whole beep.

reacting to the b in beep... I think I just had an aha moment. I have never really practices much with a timer (yet) but I know this, my reaction to the beep sucks.
And, it means even more. Our reaction to the timer, and draw speed is really insignificant compared to the importance of transition times, keeping the gun up and being ready to shoot at the earliest possible moment, etc., etc. But, placing importance to reacting to the B in the beep can set us up, psychologically, for the rest of the stage. Being aggressive on the start can put us in that mind set of importance and aggressiveness for everything else involved in the rest of the stage.I hope that makes some kind of sense.

Sure does, thanks for the tips.

  8. Updated my bench. I used to live with a friend now I have my own house and just like everything else its a never ending work in progress. Currently in the basement, thinking of taking over the second bedroom though because the dungeon feel of being in a basement on sunny days kinda stinks.

  9. Ive been about 3000 rounds probably more since my last cleaning and finally getting some jams/malfunctions but Could be the 7lb recoil spring with the dirtyness that is causing it along with shooting minor pf out of a major built gun.

Also another vote for Mobil 1.

9 lb recoil spring and major PF ammo and I would push off the cleaning even longer.

some clean more than others. Im one of the others. little cleaning as long as it is still functioning.

  10. Blue Bullets 125g

    OAL 1.125

    Wst: 4.5

    avg:1071

    133pf

    Mixed 9mm Range Brass

.355 diameter bullet. Accuracy was pretty bad out of the 929 something like 10" group.

Same load out of Open STI was Grouping very well.

I loaded some test bags I had of 142Gr Jacketed .357 at

    115PF and

158Gr Jacketed at 110 PF .357 and Groups were down to 2-3 inches

I ordered some .358 Blue bullets to try next. I also am going to sort the Brass and shoot only FC brass

Some of the brass would stick some ejected fine. I cant quite rule it out yet but it doesnt seem to like .355 Diameter

The groups were at 25 Yards

  11. I was cursing that WIN brass all weekend long....Two hours of mashing Federal primers into crimped brass and clearing out the debris just to load 300 rounds.

I almost chambered one and shot the press :surprise: but then I remembered how long it took me to make the round so I reconsidered....

  12. Looks good. Here's what I use in my 17L

Bullet: 147 gr. Blue Bullet RN (.357)

    Powder: Alliant Bullseye 3.25 grs.

    Primer: Winchester Small Pistol

    Case: Federal

    LOAL: 1.145

ISMI 13 lb. recoil spring and Jager Polymer Guide Rod

I'll have to try 231 and Titegroup next.

. Is there an option for .357 from blue bullets??
