  1. Ive used paypal for transactions receiving up to $4500 in one transaction. No problems. They other party sent it as a gift with no notes. All went well. Deposited into my account in about two days. Also in the same weekend recieved 1500 again deposited in my account in two days. It has worked out for me to pay and receive but I never put anything in the notes. and most of all transactions go as gift.

I've had two sight trackers, a 9mm IMM duty/carry gun and a 5.4" Limited gun.  I didn't see any loss of accuracy with the ST set up and it really lightens up the slide.  I've never seen one of the SV sights work loose, but I guess it's possible.  If nothing else, the ST option is good for extending the life of the fiber optic rod......

You carried and imm open gun?

Will the 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide hurt titanium?

idk but you should just buy one of the engraver thingys lol. I wouldnt risk it dumping chemicals in there when the engraver works as well as it does. I think I read that SV also will not warranty their comp if you use solvents to clean it.

  4. Also it was super satisfying to do. I almost want it to build up a shit load of lead again like it was so I can get the satisfaction of seeing the lead just flake off leaving a super clean comp.

Easiest way I've done mine is with a Dremel engraving tool and a beveled nail. Like a miniature jackhammer. bd9735c17021ac45bc986965dfa40800.jpg

My buddy ended up rounding every edge off on his Limcat comp from blasting with glass beads so much.

I followed this advice and picked up one of these for when the time came where I finally had to clean my comp. Well, got a New gun (New to me)and the previous owner shot some CMJ exposed lead base bullets and the comp had some significant lead deposits. I tried running some Acme coated through it and must have put too much crimp on them or they just dont work like Blue Bullets have for me out of my previous open gun because the Lead build up got really bad. Busted out this little engraver tool and rounded off a nail like shown and described above and got to hammering. This little tool with a rounded nail is the best thing since sliced bread. The description like a mini jackhammer couldnt be more spot on. It breaks the lead and carbon off with very little effort and leaves a nice undamaged super clean comp as an end product. Thanks for the tip Seehawer!

  6. I got an rts2 with a v3 board (checked by pulling the battery and reinserting.) it's going to sit on an sv imm 9major should I just go ahead and send it in to be upgraded for the v4 board or try it out and wait for it to fail before going through the hassle? What's the cost to upgrade to the v4 and how long does it take cmore to do it? Is it just a hit or miss thing or is the v3 inevitably going to fail on an open gun?

    I use 3n38  8.8 Gr 124 Berry round nose 1.170.

Currently testing silhouette.   7.9 gr Berry round nose 1.160.

I published more load data on oil in the Reloading forum.

8.8 sounds like an awfully high charge weight with a 124gr. 8 Gr makes 176pf in my gun with 124mg Jhp     **Edited** im going off memory here so maybe im wrong on my charge weight and PF. I'll have to check my notes and confirm. DISREGARD for now.

(this is another reason why it is important to use a chrono and work up your own load to confirm PF)

    Hey guys,

So i am super green and haven't did my first match yet. Just got the gun, belt, pouches etc... I am going to shoot Production Glock 34

My question is... minor power factor is 125... Does it matter if its 125 or 135... meaning does it all score the same. Do I get more points for 135? Should I find "hotter" 9mm ammo or do you want to make it close to 125 as possible because its the same points anyways... Hope that makes sense...

    Thanks for reading!

    Weev-

unless youre shooting a major match where they chrono your rounds, none of this matters. Buy a box of whatever you like the most and run it, you will be scored the same as everyone else at your local match shooting production.

  9. this is an edge. Im assuming there is no dot on the gun. Resting an iron sighted gun has shown me that I cant group an iron sighted gun off a rest. IDK why but its very difficult for me to do. I can always shoot a better group with an iron sighted gun free handed. Maybe thats just me though.

Sounded like some good info he posted ....    :)

    I appreciate good info

I am mistaken and take that back. I looked at another post of his and assumed he was bumping really old posts but it was just a post he made back in 2014 and I jumped to conclusions. Youre right Jack. good info

We should ALL do that more often.    :)

Probably making the quest to 50 then off to the races in the classifieds.

Ive never shot a classifier yet. Any tips for success? Im really interested in making this a serious hobby... and I know you have to shoot to compete. Would love to hear what everyone has done in the past and tips for certain classifiers? are there standards to practice?

Youre asking for a lot in that question. Get to searching and get to reading. Also search Ben Stoeger, Steve Anderson those guys (and some others) write books on this stuff that answer your questions in much more detail than youll find in a couple sentence response youll get from here.

I've been running 8.7 of silhouette with a 115. Runs well with a bedell comp and 2-3/16" popple holes. What is every one else running with silhouette?

For me 7.2 with a 124 coated bullet makes 165 Pf

I was planning on staying away from Titegroup as people said it is a bit dirtier than other powders, and it is only marginally cheaper.

Ive found that titegroup isnt really much more dirty than a bunch of other powders I have used. Youre eventually going to have to clean your gun no matter what powder you use, using something other than titegroup isnt going to change that. I think people exaggerate things to some degrees. Titegroup is a good powder, I like WST because the gun doesnt get as hot as with titegroup and is not as dense so it fills the case more(easier to spot a dbl charge)

I think you (or Me) missed the point.

Practicing classifiers is not the issue per se.

Practicing classifier prior to shooting a match with that classifier is the issue.  Just as shooting the classifier twice, once for the match and once for headquarters.

I believe, USPSA does have a high hit factor problem.

I pretty much agree that classifiers test the foundations of shooting; draw, reload, speed, and accuracy.

Youre the first person Ive ever heard say practicing a classifier is an issue. Reshooting it, I can see the issue but practicing the classifier stage prior to the match is perfectly acceptable imo. I'm with Moto, you practice what you would see at a match so you can do those things to the best of your ability at the match.... What youre saying is very counterproductive.

My TruBor has about 20,000 rounds thru it with no problems or cracks    :)

1500 rounds a year is all youve put through that thing? I got 3000 on my open gun I received in February of this year.

Once my flip and catch during ULSC is no longer boss, I change the spring....

I dont know if this is serious or not but funny you say that. I just cleaned my extractor tunnel for the first time with almost 3000 rds through my gun (I didnt know any better...) and I was surprised by how much gunk was in there. That being said, I was getting some random ejection patterns in my Flip and catch at ULSC . After I cleaned it out the Flip and catch was "boss" again lol. I didnt really think too much of it until reading this. I think youre on to something though. Once the flip and catch gets hairy its time to clean her out.  EDIT, didnt realize this was a necro post..

I shoot both open and PCC. Here is my take. I think it depends on the COF. If it is set up with tight left and right walls where you have to bend around them open wins along with classifier type reload stages.

Longer more open accuracy dependent shots, PCC wins.

Just shot a "hybrid" match where it was set up with PCC in mind with longer open shots, not a lot of walls, more movement. head & shoulder shots, no shoots, and small steels. PCC took the top 4 spots out of 60 shooters and about 7 or 8 of the top 10. Now we are all pretty experienced PCC shooters. Not sure of classifications, but a master & some A's.

    gerritm

I think what youre describing is a problem not really mentioned. (or at least I didnt catch it by skimming through this) Matches will change to accommodate PCC. Setting up a match with PCC in mind changes the sport for everyone shooting a pistol. Which = Rifles dont belong in a pistol match.

Yes Casey confirmed to me the same, I was ready to order a 9 major SVI . They will not build them any more...emoji848.png

What if you ask for a 9minor gun but built exactly as you would If the gun was 38suler ? You know, because you only shoot steel challenge but want to look cool or something along those lines ?
