  1. You guys are crazy to buy $500 grip and $300 weights for an $800 gun. The added weight IMHO will not make you any %closer to winning a match. But hey if you got the cash burning a hole in your pocket then by all means....

  2. My stock 2 recently rusted up pretty good. I put it in the safe in my basement after area 7 match and the next weekend i took it out and was surprised by a nice coating of rust all over. The hard chrome sounds good on paper but the quality of the chrome on my stock 2 is so poor it didn’t prevent rusting at all.

    How’d it do at A7?

Thankfully it ran 100%. Wolf xp spring, and I must have finally found the lucky extractor that agrees with my gun. I took 6th in production so I’m glad I didn’t get plagued with any issues or there’s no way that would have happened.

  4. I filed and reshaped my last extractor to the point of no return and had to buy a new one. That one worked for about 1000 rounds too then started crapping out on me. The new extractor was shaped differently, I will try to take a picture of it when I clean my gun today or tomorrow in preparation for Area 7 on sunday. So far with the new extractor that i havn't modified at all, and new xp wolf spring, the gun ran 600 rounds so far without issue.

This year, all if have shot in matches and most practices is once fired Nickel and all same headstamp. The rims are all in great shape on all of the nickel rounds ive put through this gun. 200 out of the last 600 rounds tested were mixed range brass and worked too.

  5. Installed a wolf xp spring and a new extractor. Didn’t modify the tab on the extractor or anything. 3-400 rounds today and no issues so far. Unfortunately area 7 is the next time I’ll be putting some rounds on it so we’ll see how it goes. I’m hopeful but last time it went more than a few hundred issue free and then started shitting the bed again. Fingers crossed.

Is it clean? Some guns build up powder/ oil sludge in the extractor channel and around the extractor itself.

Its not that dirty. About 400-500 rounds since last cleaning. s#!t sometimes id shoot more than that in a practice session (when i used to actually practice)

  7. I have an XP spring in mine and after about 1000 rounds of working it started puking again. Same jam as described and pictured. Worked for a while and now is jamming like crazy again. about 6  or more times last match. Super frustrating. It has an XP spring in it now but maybe it wore out after a measly 1000 rounds, IDK.

I ordered some Wolf springs and another extractor (my third one) hoping something ends up working correctly together. Im shooting Area 7 in 2 weeks so hopefully I can get it to work soon.

  8. I just looked at my barrel under a flash light. It has a ring half way down the chamber but it’s still smooth and even with a fine point pick, I couldn’t feel an edge to it. I inserted some fired casings in and out of the chamber and the cases I tried were equally as tight and resisted the same in and out of the tanfo barrel and also out of a Glock 9mm barrel I had on hand. The barrel could be out of spec,  but I still thing the top of the hook of the extractor might be more to blame. Also I have yet to put many rounds since messing with mine again. 200 or so but those worked fine. (Its cold up here, with highs in the teens this week. I haven’t hit the range much lately)

  9. @kernelofwisdomthe roundness on the bottom where the round feeds never bothered me but the roundness in the opposite end did. I also think filing in the direction in the photo below helps get a clean start on achieving a flatter hook.

I also took some material off in this direction. I don’t know if any of this will help or hurt yet so I’m not recommending it, just documenting. I’ll post back with results soon.

  10. Polished the Extractor flat surfaces to some degree, also polished the pin that holds it. Fired brass falls out (I'll check again) I did file the pad for more tension but at this point there seems to be more than enough tension although I guess I could add more and see what happens. Mags are in great shape and this malfunction occurred when they were brand new, and now that there are a couple thousand rounds through it as well. The fired case never makes it out of the barrel so I don't think the ejector is in play. I guess I will just mess around with adding more tension to the extractor and see what happens along with my reshaping attempts. I just don't want to wear out this extractor and have to start all over again in a few thousand rounds. This seems to have only happened to 2015 or newer guns according to the posters on here who have dealt with the same issue. Im thinking about getting a couple more extra power extractor springs and clipping a coil to see if that helps. My gun was running malfunction free for 1500 rounds or so but it was all same headstamp once fired. So I dont know if I ever did fix the problem by increasing tension or I just got somewhat lucky in finding a headstamp that works a majority of the time or not. My ammo is all same PF, same OAL, same bullet, all loaded on a 1050/Mark7 all gauged.

  11. Brass is held in firmly just like the video. I'll check the chamber but I dont think that is the problem. It happened with RP brass twice last practice session, and also with once fired, great condition same headstamp Nickel Speer which is what I use for matches. It ran good with the speer for about 1000 rounds or more but will occasionally do the same thing even with those cases.

  12. There was a decent amount of crud in there but the same malfunction has happened before when the gun was freshly cleaned. I dont really understand how a fired case stays in the chamber and the extractor slips off of it with the amount of tension it has with the XP spring and already having filed the tab to increase tension. I have an extra extractor that was originally in the gun and it is unaltered, dimensions vary in many areas on that extractor vs the one with a 9 on it. So far neither of the two are 100% reliable.
