  1. After reviewing the new shotgun rule on the USPSA site, they talk about max mag tube length(Note 29). Can you run a longer tube in standard class as long as you have a plug in to physically prevent the loading more than 8 rounds in the tube?
  2. You can get the SRM tube and a Benelli barrel clamp from Brownells. Also, check out this thread- Nordic Components thread -a very very nice tube. Barrel clamps are inbound I understand.
  3. IMHO-it is the best you can find. And I like the bottom loading feature, and contrary to opinion, you can load directly to the chamber if you go dry with a little practice.
  4. Nobody makes one for the BPS (commercially). the thread pattern is 15 TPI, which is a very odd tpi. But, putting two together (turned, brazed, etc) with a sleeve works great. Its just like a SX2 practical mag tube.
  5. Based on my examination of Jeffy's Extrema 2, I would say with only minor mods the Benelli pistol grip will fit. And of course, you all know I know everything.
  6. Check this out-21" barrel for your 11-87 11-87 Barrel on Ebay
  7. It all gets rinsed away. Besides, probably more lead and crap in our drinking water out of the tap than what resides on those shells!
  8. If they really need to be washed, put 'em in a low flat basket then in the dishwasher, no heat dry cycle. Works great, and they don't get knocked around as in Mom's washing machine.
  9. Trapr- I shoot A191 (MIL 190 grn Sierra BTHP) in my Sendero that I have tricked out. The bullets are seated long in this ammo, which gives me about .0005-7 clearance. Did a Tubb final finish to the barrel and haven't looked back. It shoots 1-1.5" groups at 300 Yards (Benelli 2 is my witness-he couldn't believe it) from a bench. I put a McBros stock on it, good trigger and my comp. The longer rounds DO fit the magazine. I say go with what you got. BTW-the Federal GM match ammo is about the same, just not loaded as long.
  10. First and foremost, the Win and Browning are interchangable. get yourself a light sporting clays piston. It will work with pretty much everything. A Chinook, eh???
  11. just cut it, clean it up with a mill, then cold blue the end. it will work fine.
  12. Since you did not have the problem with your stock barrel, me thinks you are having an issue with either the chamber or lug lock up. Compare both barrels and check to see that there are NO differences in the chamber area. Could be just a smidge of difference in the lock up area. The bolt may be catching the lip until it gets worn in. Shoot it more and alot, maybe a tad of lube will help until it gets broke in. And a little polishing will help. And the ammo-your new barrel probably has a tighter chamber-try some different ammo to see if you get the same results.
  13. Jerry says- It's more now for astethics/looks than practicality. Gas guns always run better with longer barrels. Notice that Browning/Winchester make a 24" blaster?? The SOF rule of barrel length was a local/personal whim. Who give a damn how long your barrel is-it is a game remember! It must be cool, being you, looking at me (with my short/22" barrel)!!! BTW-1" equals 1 oz(apprx). Go figure----
  14. Maybe the 24" barrel, that way you can shoot all over the world-the UK has a 24" MINIMUM barrel length requirement law. You wouldn't have to worry about having the barrel cut, choked, etc.
  15. NO, I am still here. My server is temporarily down. and the email is - jerry@rockinhtactical.com JL
  16. Just FWIW-I have worked on many Browning Gold's and SX2's and Benellis. I like them all. But--for long term shooting enjoyment and low overhead-go with the Benelli. with that being said-I still love the Browning Gold-but of course I am the only one who can really make them run. LOL. No, really!!
  17. I have looked at alot of scopes over the years. I dont have perfect eyes (kurtm) so I am finicky about this. But-I truly believe that the Weaver 1X3 is the best I have ever used. I dont care what it costs; it works well, zero's great, and well, just works. Very clear, and yes, 300 yd plates are not a problem. Think about it; if you can shoot iron at 100, then 3X at 300 is no different. Not very many matches shoot beyond 300. And, it is a true 1X when you need it. Price? Around $130. And it stands up to magnum calibers just fine. Benelli2 was a witness to how well this scopes works. I think he was impressed.
  18. Kurt, I am with you on this one. Beer is on me my brother.
  19. I believe that they had problems with their latch springs initially. I recall David Neth's dad had a spring fix for this model. Most likely it IS the latch spring. The mag tube spring is a different wind/tension for the Practical.
  20. Actually, the shell latch is different. You want the SX2 latch spring to be strong enough to hold it in place when cycling, making sure the round stays in the mag tube. Remember, the SX2 functions like any other shotgun with respect to the shell latch and how it works. You might try trimming some of that mag tube spring. You need tension but not so much that it causes malfunctions. Call Browning and order yourself a replacement mag tube spring, they work the best in that gun.
  21. Ok Rich, if the shell actually drops out the bottom then you definitely have a shell latch problem, because it is supposed to hold the round in the mag tube as it cycles until the cartridge stop on the bottom of the bolt carrier takes over and pushes the rounds back into the tube.
  22. Nah, it's not the gas piston either, if in fact it will shoot the lighter loads her referred to. I bet it is going to be something very simple.
  23. Nah, that isn't the problem here. But that is good info to know. Me thinks there are secret squirrel issues with his blaster. I truly would love to get my paws on it to tinker with it and make it right. BTW, for all those that GAS, I will try and post alot of pics this weekend to show the mods that I do (to include the black side/secret specat stuff) that makes a Gold run correctly. My new moniker is-"We service BBW"----Benelli, Browning and Winchester! LOL!
  24. Any more info on the match; specifically-must your pistol be carried during the long gun stages, round count for the stages, etc, etc.
