  1. Me thinks by adding a factory stock and a SVL recoil pad should extend your LOP for you. Maybe Benny or Beven can hook you up on a stock. I am fresh out.
  2. Are you sure the pistol grip stock is not "tweaking/bending ever so slightly" the recoil spring tube so that it causes it to short cycle? This can happen if the stock does not fit/attach correctly to the receiver. And sometimes it is so close that just you holding the pistol grip can do this. If you have one, try a standard stock and see if this fixes the problem.
  3. If the outer ring were bigger and the crosshair dot smaller (1 or 2 MOA) it would be much better. The glass is clear, but has the yellow tint (coating?) I think a bit much for a Hakko (Japan) scope.
  4. Who is making the cone compensator blanks?
  5. Just trying to get a feel from the field about this. Thinking of going into production.
  6. I too have been messing around with that barrel type. Built a new one, just for this barrel. Now it REALLY looks like an SX2 Practical! LOL. The gun is lighter without the vent rib, still tracks great, and well, it looks cool.
  7. The BPS is a standard square thread (15 TPI-ok, not so standard) while the Gold is metric (1.5mm). It may seem like it fits ok (because they are close) but in reality you are slowly recutting the threads on the magazine extension collar (aluminum) or on the gun magazine tube. The Gold uses a larger I.D. tube, so you would probably have some feeding problems as well. I highly recommend a one piece tube setup.
  8. Well, at the SE 3 Gun rifle stage, there was a myriad of scopes, mostly 1ish-4 power. All except for one shooter had their scope set to 3 or 4 power to start. The paper was so close just shooting over your scope worked. My observation after RO'ing the stage was this-guys, you got to know what your zero is and how it effects down range performance. Oh, and BTW-shooting up hill does NOT require much holdover with a 50/200 zero on a 300 yard target. After Jeff and I went down range to reset the big steel (shooting with a .50 BMG gun-another story!!), just observing the bullet tracks, 90% of the rounds were HIGH! Another observation-when doing a walk through, figure out what you can use for a rest/brace for you blaster. Those that used the door post and hood of the vehicles had much smoother runs than those using "other" means. FWIW-I used a 1-4 Horus Talon set at 4X. Didn't like the reticle at all, to busy and center dot way to big when you crank it up.
  9. What Fomeister said is dead on. Because it is a pump, barrel length/dwell time/gas/etc is a non issue. Go with it.
  10. I would get the Winchester, just so you can keep your 870 for "other" sports. For 200 bones the Win Defender will be a fine gun for you to start with, and if it doesn't work out, you still have your 870 in stock config. You will spend well over the 200 to "convert" the 870, especially if you need a new barrel or having that one cut and choked, although you didn't mention the barrel's current configuration. Bottom line- either one would be fine.
  11. I got tired of searching for the "perfect" brake, so I made my own. This one is about twice as good as any I have tried on either my AR10, or in this case, my .300 Win Mag.
  12. Guy- It means Jeff was trying not to step on snakes while setting up stages, i.e., copperheads, water moccasins, bull snakes, eastern racers, eastern diamondback rattlers, etc, etc. That's really why there will be alot of shotgun use!
  13. And Beevo! But I have to admit, the "Corp" is pretty cool. To this day, when they mention "UT" up here (Tn), I always remind them what it REALLY stands for. And of course, get a K M A look. LOL
  14. Go to your local gunsmith/machinist and ask them to measure your mag tube O.D., I.D. and thread pitch/TPI (probably metric), and you can go from there. It may match some of the other tubes out there, such as a Benelli or a Browning tube.
  15. Does the Montefelpro 12 ga barrel fit the M1 S90 receiver?
  16. Mike-70mm shells? Are we referring to Mk 66 Mod 3 FFAR(folding fin aerial rocket)? Oh-ah no, we are talking about 2 3/4 inch shells!!!! Damn Brits and that metric system anyway!! I think the law states if you are a USPSA member you must refer to measurements in US standards. That would be rule 2.12.13.44 blah, blah, blah. Never pass up the oppurtunity ya know.
  17. Roger, same to ya! Here is the Link for cleaning and assembly/dis-assembly. Poly-Choke Instructions And, I will also assume the 21" barrel is ported somewhere along it's length" Near the end, mid way, etc?
  18. BTW-For those of you that shoot open with a Benelli, what is, or is there a standard for barrel length?
  19. Yes, a Poly-Choke. They have made significant improvements over the last 70 years (yes, they have been around that long!). And you should always pattern your blaster, regardless of chokes used. However-I have found that their settings are very accurate on this model, to the point of measuring and comparing them based on the "industry" standard of choke size. I just hate changing chokes. I know a lot of people keep the same one in (Kurt-the welder!), but it is nice to go 2 settings past cylinder for up close "spreader type" blasting. And-it is significantly cheaper than cutting and re-choking your barrel, and I like that. FWIW-for those of you that shoot a Benelli with a 21" barrel, they make one (Poly-Choke II) that screws into your barrel like a choke, but with 9 settings!
  20. Without measuring the length of the slugs, I would say they (Winchester) are longer. Try using the Remington Low Recoil slugs. I know you can fit 8 of them into the tube.
  21. No, I would never turn to the dark side. A lot of people have asked me about Benelli's, so I thought I would get smart on them. I like the gun-I don't get the part about "to much recoil". Feels fine to me. I am working on the one piece tube for this one-stay tuned!
  22. More details to follow. I just LOVE that adjustable choke, even though it kinda takes away from the swoopy look. But, it beats the heck out of changing tubes out, you can even change mid stage if ya need to.
  23. Something I have been working on.
