  1. I use a garden cart. Paid $50 for it new, it has sides as well I just took them off while I was making this little gun rack for it Works perfect, and I like it better than the jogging cart I was using.
  2. A complete LW slide is $175? Where?
  3. Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly: You bought a .40 upper, then got a conversion barrel to make it 9mm, then put that on a 9mm gun? Why not save the intermediate step and get a G34 slide? I got the lone wolf 35 slide from someone for $200, it was brand new and never used. Came with sights and an OEM Glock 35 barrel.
  4. Put a LW 35 slide on my 17 frame with no issues. Bought a LW 40-9 threaded conversion barre and that is what will be my 3 gun blaster. Ran it this past weekend and it worked great, I like it much better than my 17 upper. It's getting cerakoted right now because I'm not a fan of the stainless look on my FDE Glock frame.
  5. That information is incorrect. You would have to leave the short upper at home, meaning you can't attach the 16" upper to make a GCA firearm and also take the short upper with you. From the ATF SBR FAQ: Q: If I remove the short barrel from the registered SBR or SBS, is the receiver still subject to NFA transfer and possession regulations? If the possessor retains control over the barrel or other parts required to assemble the SBR or SBS, the firearm would still be subject to NFA transfer and possession regulations. ATF recommends contacting State law enforcement officials to ensure compliance with state and local law. Q: Does the installation of a barrel over 16 inches in length (SBR) or 18 inches in length (SBS) remove the firearm from the purview of the NFA? If so, is this considered a permanent change? Installation of a barrel greater than 16 inches in length (SBR) or 18 inches in length (SBS) will remove the firearm from the purview of the NFA provided the registrant does not maintain control over the parts necessary to reconfigure the firearm as a SBR or SBS. Q: If I remove the short barrel from my SBR or SBS, may I move the firearm across state lines without the submission of ATF Form 5320.20, Application to Transport or to Temporarily Export Certain Firearms? If the registrant retains control over the parts required to assemble the SBR or SBS, the firearm is still be subject to all requirements of the NFA. ATF recommends contacting law enforcement officials in the destination state to ensure compliance with state and local law. And then here's an excerpt from one of their letters:
  6. I bought a factory threaded Glock 19 and 17http://www.personaldefenseworld.com/2015/01/4-new-threaded-barrel-glocks/#dsc_2230-2 That article is a year old, so I'm sure more models are offered now too.
  7. Glock makes a lot of factory threaded barrel pistols, so I would think (depending on the model) that it would be. But I'm very new to the game, so can't say for certain.
  8. Are these actually out yet? Didn't see them in stock anywhere when I looked. Wanted to pick one up to try out since they're so cheap.
  9. The reviews most places seem overwhelmingly positive for these mags, so I ordered 7 from botach for $13/ea. Can't beat that if they are reliable. The most common thing I have seen is that the 22 rounders will sometimes only hold 21 and can swell so they won't drop free from your gun when fully loaded. Not really an issue to me since I don't usually drop fully loaded mags out of my gun at a matches.

    G43 Basepads

I have a couple of the Taran +2 and like them. I had to trim the springs to actually be able to get 8 rounds in AND be able to seat the mag without causing feeding issues. Botach has a deal right now with two glock 43 magazines, two tangodown +2 basepads, and springs for $60. Can't comment on them yet but will when I get them in and run them. Figured that was too good of a deal to pass up, considering I pad that much for my two Taran extensions. Aforementioned deal: https://www.botach.com/glock-43-tangodown-2-mag-extension-w-springs-2-pack/
  11. This is my current work in progress. I think when I find an arrangement I like that I will make it permanent by welding something up instead of using wood.
  12. I use the midway 3 gun bag and also their sniper drag bag. The drag bag I have is too short for my shotgun now, but I didn't buy it for that anyways. I'm very impressed with the quality of the bags for the price I paid.
  13. A quick Google search found this pricey guy http://www.milehighshooting.com/spuhr-imis-mount-36mm-cantilever/ If you're buying those scopes I'm guessing you can afford an expensive mount though. I'm sure before too long others will make them. That or you could buy a 34mm mount of your chosing and have a machine shop open it up to 36mm. Shouldn't be too hard.
  14. Thought I would post this here, it is a utility cart that they have on sale for $50. Picked one up and it seems pretty nice really, just need to build a gun rack and umbrella holder for it now! http://www.orschelnfarmhome.com/steel-utility-cart/ctl16754/cp57930/si5898700/cl1/
  15. Yes it will miss shots, who cares as long as it gets the last shot? Which you can do by getting the shot timer near the ejection port.
  16. I can see that. We all work together and the company supplies the Ammo so not a big deal in that area.
  17. Have the sensitivity adjusted, or get the timer next to the ejection port. That still doesn't answer my question as to why you "cant" run them suppressed in competition. Is it written in a rule book somewhere or?
  18. Got some practice in with some family and friends last weekend. Buddy has a bunch of land so we set up a few different stages to run through.
  19. Why can't you run them suppressed in competition? I've run my 5.56 SBR suppressed in competitions plenty of times.
  20. Interesting idea, but like someone else said why not just shoot in limited with them?
  21. Good article. I used a stroller for a while, but am going to weld up a custom cart one of these days. A couple guys at work that shoot matches with me always pile their stuff on my cart, so I'll be making one to hold the gear for 3 shooters or so
  22. Shooting a USPSA match today to get some pistol work in.
  23. I agree with this except on flying clays. Then if I don't watch the clay break I will not follow through properly and miss. Very true, I forgot about flying clays.
  24. I, for the most part, trust that when I pull the trigger the target will go down. With that said, if I pull a shot I know I did it pretty quick and will put another on target really quick and then move on.
  25. Since you didn't say what caliber I'm going to assume 5.56. You didn't mention it, but if you are planning on running suppressed you may plan barrel length around what suppressor you would like to buy. I know some are rated down to 7.5" but most are not. Also consider its intended uses. Close range plinking/fun gun? Or something that you can take to 200-300 without issue if need be? For your reference I'll tell you what I did and why. I built a 12.5" middy with .223 wylde chamber because I wanted a "do it all" rifle that wasn't terribly long with my suppressor attached. It is an accurate rifle that I use for 3 gun, coyote hunting, plinking, and training. I have a 1-6 scope on it so it's good close and i can still run it out to 300+ no problem. Since it's a 12.5" barrel, I can shoot VMax out to 200 or so and still be above their minimum expansion velocity for shooting coyotes. I actually sold my other 5.56 after it was built because this filled every role I needed it to.
