Been a bit busy with matches & did not get to this thread until tonight. I have a few comments about on-line or electronic ballots. I have been an elected officer at my local gun club for a decade or two now. Over the years, we shifted to more on-line & electronic systems (electronic gate, online renewal forms, online member searchable database with 4 items of required information -- like bank security & not just a password or PIN number). We were still using paper ballots until 4 years ago. As the club membership approached 1000, it got to be very labor intensive for the volunteer group that had to create, mail, collect & count ballots. Like several posts here, I assumed the dismal 25% to 30% rate of return would improve when the process was "easier." Nope. Still 30% or lower, even in contested elections. My observtion has been that people vote when they are mad or inspired. If they are angry or annoyed, they cast a ballot to change the leadership. If they are inspired by ideas or plans, or they personally know a candidate, they cast a vote of support. The vast group in the middle do not vote. Making it easier, convenient, or quicker will not necessarily change their behavior. Linda Chico (L-2035) USPSA A6 Director

2011 USPSA MultiGun Nationals
LChico replied to Chuck Anderson's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
The "justification" and "defensiveness" you want stopped is not coming from Match Administrative staff or USPSA Management. It is coming from shooters who paid to shoot the match or staff who volunteered to work it. They are entitled to voice an opinion (as are you). "USPSA management needs to actually listen to the the members, not dictate to them." I will assume you missed Michael Voigt's opening remarks at the awards ceremony - when he asked competitors and staff to contact Area Directors about proposed revisions for MG Rules. A major re-write is in the works by the USPSA BOD Multigun Committee. "Perhaps 3 Gun rules need to written by 3 Gunners." I am the only person on the USPSA Multigun committee who does not actually shoot 3 gun (Michael Voigt, Phil Strader, Chuck Anderson & Chris Endersby all shoot 3 gun frequently). I am there because of all the work I have done in match administration at non-USPSA multi-gun, and because I communicate frequently with a large group of 3 gunners. After several emails, I realized I had not posted the Pro-Am Pairing Results here: ProAm_Pairs.pdf The final points for each randomly selected set of Pro Shooter and AM shooter were added together. Because there were 55 more Pro shooters than AM shooters, not every Pro could be matched with an AM shooter. Sorry about the delay. I am still travelling home. Anyone can handle my piece, just ask. Once or twice during the South Carolina State match "after party," he made an offer before anyone asked . . . Just saying what a generous guy he is . . . Linda Chico (L-2035) Columbia SC -
FNH USA 3 Gun Championship Nov 10-12, 2011

Yes, it is full now. I plan to start a waiting list. Linda Chico (L-2035) 2011 FNH USA 3 Gun Statistician -
There is a difference between posting results and submitting results. These are two separate files generated by the scoring program. Posting results means anyone can see them online (non USPSA members see first name with last initial only). This is a really great service for clubs that did not have a website to post results, but it does not get your classifier scores to USPSA. Submitting results is a two step process. First, the activity report is created (can be a file for electronic submission, or a printed hard copy to submit manually). Second, the results are sent to USPSA (electronically uploaded or snail mail). In either case, payment is required for your information to be used for classification. Linda Chico (L-2035) Columbia SC

Right across the street from the Bellagio at Planet Hollywood. The problem with the layout of most casinos is that you need to walk through the casino to get to your room from the cab stands, registration or parking. At PH, nearly all of that occurs one floor below the casino level, and you can go to the elevators to rooms without carrying a firearm through the casino & rattling security. The only issue is that to use the "self parking" option, you need to drag all your gear through a shopping mall - I'm pretty certain they are not too gun friendly. I just use Valet Parking & go into the hotel near the cab stand. Linda Chico (L-2035) Columbia SC (I assume the Bellagio is over vigilant because they have been robbed more frequently than other casinos, at least where it gets into the news)

Great, hope it is 6 friendly revo man !!! The stages are not "revolver friendly," but the match administration & the match staff are very "revolver friendly." Linda Chico (L-2035) 2011 SC State Match Statistician -
Yours should get to SC in time. I have taken the application off the website & replaced it with a message: I am leaving home for Summerville SC early on Tuesday, May 3rd. Applications mailed to my home that arrive after that date will remain on hold at the Post Office until after the match & I will not see them. There are Friday slots available & may be a handful of Saturday slots. Please email LChico@msn.com for slot availability & an application. Linda Chico (L-2035) 2011 SC State Match Statistician

You going Jamie? With FB3G now just a memory, there's a hole in the NOV/DEC schedule. Long drive from CENTEX, but looks like a great match. Lets talk it over on the drive to BRM , I think we could make it good trip. I am printing out an application for each of us. Will someone be at BRM3Gun that we can hand deliver the app to ? No. My mailing address is on the application. Linda Chico (L-2035) 2011 FNH USA 3 Gun Statistician -
Hey guys, this is the RO from Stage 11 - glad to have you out there! Your son did great, I was really impressed. You won an XD-9 and I won a PINK belt, PINK mag holders, and PINK brass bag, wanna trade?? That pink gear is top of the line CR Speed equipment, and I am sure you can find a buyer, so that you can get the same set in black or red. Linda Chico (L-2035) 2011 Area 6 Match Director

Sorry about the delay. No internet access at the range & I had some details to clear up before I could leave. They are up now. Link to Major Match results page- then select Area 6. I will email results to Bill for posting on the Area 6 site, including the unofficial combined final results. Linda Chico (L-2035) 2011 Area 6 Match Director

Bro.. The temp gauge in my truck said 97 Saturday during setup. No Breeze and humidity out the roof.... Bring plenty of water, gatorade, and a case of sunscreen... my shoulders are burnt to a crisp!!!! There WAS a breeze - your ears were blue. I assume you didn't point the power sprayer at your head. And I am amazed that you managed to sunburn through a layer of blue paint. Linda Chico (L-2035) 2011 Area 6 Match Director
