  1. O.k., so in your opinion division rules only apply during the COF. Got it. More specifically after the start signal on this case.

    Trigger won't reset

It's not too bad to replace once you get that trigger pin out. The CGW slave pins make it much easier to put back in. Get one of the CGW solid trigger pins while you are at it and then it will be much easier to get out as well. The CGW reduced power trigger spring is in itself a very nice upgrade as well.
  3. Step 1: Add heat (in case of loctite) Step 2: big hammer My table where I do most of my gun work isn't as stable as it needs to be for this type of thing sometimes so I occasionally use the cement floor in my laundry. If I remember there was a set screw so obviously get that out first in you haven't already.
  4. Several here have done it and you can find some TS picture threads that discuss it. Dremel, files, and sand paper work to remove the cast Checkering. I 20 LPI checkered my back strap with a file. I can post pictures later if you can't find them with the search feature.
  5. Wow, that's a fearfully light trigger. I just have to tell people who are trying it out that they had better mean it before putting their finger on the trigger. You get use to it all too quickly.
  6. My CZ TS was 1lb 12 Oz out of the box. It's 1lb 8oz now. It really shouldn't need any work.
  7. Like I was saying, if you want to do this I think it needs to tie back to the potential miss penalties for each target to make it easier and to make it actually relate to how we typically score the shooters on the stage. You just have too much go on with the many multiple values that won't significantly differ in practice. Differentiate the long range shots based on the enhanced penalty rates for misses and give everything else a standard rating.
  8. I wonder how many shots will be fired to get those 71 rifle targets. My bet is a lot more than 71.
  9. Measure your sight from where it comes out of the slide. The HAJO looks pretty tall and a straight conversion would call for a .295 inch sight. It looked like the tallest one Dawson sells is a .275 but maybe that will be close enough with your adjustment option.
  10. I would love to have a change log posted somewhere so we know what else to expect. Thank you for the continued updates. I am looking forward to enhanced app compatability.
  11. Yeah, with very few exceptions the live versions get a big thumbs down from me.
  12. Good points. Also, it might be a good idea to start with a budget in mind. I stated by installing just one updated part on one of my old ARs and two grand later I have a brand new gun and a box full of old parts that looks a lot like my old gun minus a lower receiver.
  13. It is definitely not complicated and it utilizes scoring and practices already in place at many 3 gun matches. Basically most targets would be worth 5 stage points since you get 5 seconds for a miss on those targets. A select few long range targets might incur additional time penalties for misses and these targets would have a point value equal to the time added for a miss. For example maybe there is a 300 yard target that the WSB says incurs a 20 second penalty for misses. This single target would be worth 20 points towards a stage point value. Adding additional time for select long range targets is already a common practice so it isn't a stretch to add similar stage point values using the same measure. Shooters don't directly shoot "points" on each stage. Shooters shoot the stage for time plus applicable penalties. The few targets that have additional penalties have their own separate "miss" sections in PractiScore (already a common practice). The MD adds up the total points for each stage and the shooter with the lowest time after penalties on each stage is assigned full stage points with all the shooters earning a percentage of stage points relational to the top shooter. Stage points are added for total match points to determine the finishing order. This really isn't a stretch.
  14. I think this is much closer to how things should be but let me suggest a few minor modifications. The original proposal's heart is in the right place but it's too complicated and furthermore, the point values on which target hits are based share no relationship with actual penalties given, points, awarded, or anything else dealing with the actual scoring of the individual stage. Furthermore I would expect that the 3,4,5 point valued targets would end up averaging out to around 4 over any given course of fire for the most part of it meaning that the only significant difference might be in rifle targets at distance. I personally don't like point values for gun transitions. That is just stuff you have to do to get to the shooting. What happens if a shooter has the option of not shooting guns on a stage? Would that decrease the value of that stage if I can just use my pistol instead of going to my shotgun? Should the stage be worth more points if I have a mandatory reload? I think you get points only for shooting targets regardless of how you get that done. I would propose assigning the point value of each target on based on the penalty for a miss on that target. This assumes that 3 Gun rulesets already have additional, standardized time penalties for rifle and slug targets at distance. Five points for each paper target that would garner you a five seconds penalty for FTN. If its a 200 yard rifle target that is assigned a 15 second penalty for a miss then it adds 15 points to the stage value. This would not only give you scoring that appropriately weights the value of longer range hits but it would do so in a way that makes sense within the context of the rest of the stage scoring. This type of scoring might drive for a more in depth discussion about proper standard miss penalties across different target types and distances but I think that is a conversation we should be having anyway.
  15. See my video earlier is this thread. Pushing the release with my strong hand thumb and is as fast as jamming the mag in and hoping that the slide will close on its own buy much more reliable. It the slide closes on its own then that's great but I will be making the motion to hit the slide release regardless.
  16. I have been an loyal Pandora listener for years and that is where the music will be coming from if you get into any issues of my cars. I am tried Sirius but not having the ability to skip bar songs and the surprising amount of DJ chatter made it a poor experience for me. For $3 a month for the ad free version Pandora has been money well spent. My newest car even has native Pandora app integration with the touch screen so I can switch stations or give something the thumbs down without having to go to my phone. As for stations that you might appreciate the Led Zeppelin station is one of my favorites.
  17. MarkCO, thanks for bringing up that problem with the definition of up range that we so fondly quote when trying to figure out what down range means. Obviously you can get DQed for less than pointing the gun directly away (90 degrees) from the backstop so NROI needs to revisit these definitions with a rulebook revision.
  18. I honestly am not sure whether it's more durable than the stock but I trust Dawson more than any generic LPA. I think mine had KenSights on it stock. The Target and the TS have LPA cuts so any LPA cut sight should work in theory.

    Cz for limited?

Now we know... and knowing is half the battle.
  20. I ran to the local indoor range to for a quick lunch session a few weeks ago and two Fed LEOs took the lane next to me today practice for qualifications. The first string was from the holster take two shots into the target placed at three yards in three seconds. The first guy shoots his two and the second shot was about 12 inches down and right from the center scoring zone. The guy who seems to be the instructor looks at the bad hit and declares that the other guy must have not cleaned his gun well enough since last time.

    Cz for limited?

Nope. I have a metal trigger aluminum grips, large mag well, CZC hammer, CZC 140mm basepads, CZC new springs and followers, adjustable rear sights, and like I said before much less material removed from the frame. 43 Oz without the 140 mm magazine and 47 with.
  22. I replaced the target rear with some Dawson LPA fiber optic rear sights.
