  1. Metric and standard hex wrenches, flat blade and Philips screwed driver, Leatherman, a few small punches, squib rod, zip ties, fiber optic rods, lighter (for the FOs), gun oil, a few select extra springs and other small gun parts. Backup guns if you have them. Edit: number one on the list should be a mag brush.
  2. Can we set some video? It might make it easier to understand exactly what you are doing or rather what you feel tension is causing you to do. For me tension shows up most in trigger control and perhaps draw and reload dexterity. Exactly how is it affecting you?
  3. You might consider buying a holster are pouches that would run double duty for Production since 9mm isn't the ideal round for Limited anyway. Also, it would b good to know if you have been considering 3 Gun as that could change the equation. Get some pouches that can tilt like Ghost, DAA, or CR speed. The Blade Tech holster is fine but the hunger sucks. Get a Boss Hager for it or just buy a Ghost Stinger. You don't need a magwell but if you get one remember that you will likely need new grips. The biggest change from Production that I would make is running the CZ cocked and locked so the first shot is SA and get some 140mm magazine extensions, new Springs, and basepads from CZC so that you can run 22 or 23 in your magazines instead of 18.
  4. How does Freedom Munitions 55gr .223 group for you? I have a bunch but haven't compared it with anything else yet.
  5. It's not perfect but you should try using window weather stripping on the bottom of your shooting boxes for indoor ranges. That is what I use for my shooting boxes in the unfinished portion of my basement and it works well.

    Just got a P-09....

That is not how they do it in Mid-Atlantic, We have to drop the hammer down for Production and SSP as per the interpretation of the rules. I had to do it on my SP-01 tactical, P-07 and P-09. bgc Then they are wrong in the Mid-Atlantic. http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-NROI-ruling-details.php?indx=30 Created: 3/06/08 Updated: 6/02/14 Effective: 6/02/14 Rule Number: Appx D4 Spec Applies to: Pistol Ruling Authority: John Amidon Status: Released Question: Does the CZ decocker or others similar, lower the hammer sufficiently to comply with Production division, and if not, how would they comply with the wording in 10.5.9 without being DQ'd? Answer: Manufacturers have installed decockers to take the hammer safely to a position that is deemed safe, therefore; the term fully decocked is the position that the hammer rest at once the decocker has been used. Altering a factory installed decocker to bring the hammer to rest at less than a half cocked position is not allowed.

    Just got a P-09....

Thank you. Correcting the above to only refer to the P07. I know the P09 dropped "Duty" from the name and would be interested to know if there are any other differences in newer models if anyone knows.

    Just got a P-09....

Just thought I would quickly caution those who are looking for a good deal on the P-07s to ensure they known the difference between the older models and the 2014 models. I have seen discussion on another forum comparing prices without realizing the existence of or added benefits of the newest models. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/01/jeremy-s/cz-updates-p-07-p-09-2014/ CZ Updates P-07 and P-09 for 2014 A few months ago we reviewed CZ’s excellent P-09, the younger but bigger brother of the P-07 Duty. In it I mentioned that the P-09 got some new, updated features that the P-07 didn’t have. Namely, interchangeable backstraps, a comfortable new trigger shape, a new hammer, and front cocking serrations. Well, CZ has updated the CZ 75 P-07 Duty for 2014 and it now has all of these things and more. Not to be outdone, the P-09 has some new offerings as well . . . First some housekeeping: it appears that CZ has dropped the “Duty” moniker. These pistols are now just the CZ P-07 and the CZ P-09. In addition to the changes mentioned above, the P-07 has received more “refined lines,” including a dehorning treatment to get rid of any sharp edges. The CZ-USA website only lists it in black, in both 9mm and .40 S&W, but mentions that some distributors may receive special versions. For 2014 the P-09 is being offered in an FDE (Flat Dark Earth) frame that comes with tritium night sights, in its standard black frame config, and in a black frame with a threaded, suppressor-ready barrel. So far those new options are only available in 9mm, with .40 S&W available in standard black. New Old

    Just got a P-09....

What is the preferred configuration for these for DA a Production set up? Decocker or Safety? I know that for the standard CZs the Decocker models are to be avoided because it's harder to get a trigger on them but don't know how that applies to these Omegas that are capable of either. I am assuming that Dococker goes to the halfcock notch which should make the DA a little shorter.

    You, sir, are a wizard!
  13. I was wondering that myself. Essentially you can legally mod a CZ or Tanfoglio by changing the grip panels but there really isn't anything like that on most of the polymer guns save the ones with interchangeable back straps
  14. Trigger modification might make sense seeing as most of the current "Production legal" Glock triggers should not be legal given the modifications to the trigger safety engagement.
  15. Looks like a strap to me.
  16. I would like them to allow Production gun equivalency where as long as it Enos up identical to the Production legal gun then it is legal regardless of how you bought it. Examples are a G34 slide on a G17 frame or sending back that old standard Shadow to have an ACCU bushing retrofit.

Usually a reference to a Tanfoglio

David, Will you offer A Production legal model of the P09 already set up like you do for the 97? What do you think of the P09s?
  19. Before you change the sight you need to endure you are not disturbing the sights while pulling the trigger. Compensating by drifting the sights can be a crutch that will hold you back.
  20. Maybe you need to move your finger out on one platform and in on the other. Try more finger in the Glock and less in the Tanfilio. Get dry firing and experiment.
  21. Finger placement? How do they look when you dry fire against a white wall?
  22. If I remember the weak hand stuff can optionally start out in SA. The rest should start DA. Going from a Glock I am not sure that working around the DA will be much more complicated than getting use to manipulating the safety. Glock has some overtravel on that first triggered pull where you are taking off the trigger safety and depressing the plunger. DA isn't much worse than that and a couple of weeks of dry fire should be plenty to get you ready to go. IDPA Classifier leaves you with quite a bit of extra time anyway.
  23. Thanks. I guess just need to drill and tap that rail in. They sell a kit for that as well http://czcustom.com/cz97bpicatinnyrailmountkit.aspx
