  1. Great thanks for all of the input, will get the corvette and see how it goes.
  2. I have a gift certificate for a Nordic comp, I can choose either the Tactical of Corvette comp, does anyone have any input on which is better? This is going on a light weight competition AR build in 223. 16in barrel, adj. gas, and a lightweight bcg, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  3. Not answering for Ben, but imo It Depends. At 7 yards, you can tolerate a lot more junk in your sight picture than at 25 yards. As you dry fire, you get more familiar with your sight movement in various situations. Then you go live fire, and correlate what you saw during dry fire with reality. "OK, the amount of sight movement I have been allowing at 10 yards still gets me an a-zone hit, but the amount of sight movement I have been allowing at 15 yards results in a wide c-zone or close d-zone hit, so I need to make some adjustments there." Then you go back to your dryfire, make the adjustment(s), perform many reps over a significant time period to burn in the adjustment(s), and then go back and live fire it again to confirm that you're doing it properly. If not, back to more reps / more time, maybe add in some coaching and / or video if you aren't "getting" it. Once you confirm you're doing things properly, up the speed in live fire until a bunch of things break, and now you have more stuff on which to focus in dry fire. Thank you. That makes sense, now I just need to make it out to the range to correlate everything!
  4. I made some with a buddies press. Have heard of some guys making them with wad, shot, and then manually crimping the shells, sounds like it would be very difficult but maybe worth a try.
  5. Have been doing this for a few weeks now and have already seen vast improvements. This helps! And really makes me push to be faster and achieve the par times he sets.
  6. Airsoft and lasers are a fun diversion, but the bottom line is that all the "response" you really need to have when you are doing home training is to see your sight wiggle (or not) during your training. Airsoft guns are ok, but they are a logistical hassle and when you start going really really fast the commonly available airsoft guns will not keep up. When you say "see your sight wiggle" are you saying we should avoid having any wiggle at all? Do you treat a wiggle as a miss? I have been dry firing pretty regularly now and still get some wiggle when I speed up. Thanks.
  7. Can you use that holster in tac ops and/or limited division? I haven't seen any rules saying you can't but haven't seen anyone running a race holster in those divisions.
  8. There is also a 15 minute dry fire program by Ben on this forum. It's free and has some really really great drills. I try to do that 3 times a week and then on the other days I grab my pistol and just shoot targets in my room for 5-10 minutes, don't even put my belt on or anything.
  9. Before I bought anything I went to a couple of matches and talked to multiple people about the gear they run. Everyone is extremely nice and helpful. Especially if you help their squad tape/reset. After the first one I went to I was able to stay after and try on and shoot my buddy's gear and see what I like/don't like.
  10. Great proof that shooting on move is faster than getting into one position and shooting it all from there, I am often tempted to do that when planning stages.
  11. Thanks for the drill. will be doing this next time I go to the range, really need to work on getting the cadence down.
  12. Thanks for the videos, I have been looking for drills to do when I go to the range. Can find tons of dry fire routines but not as many live fire.
  13. New comp-tac mag holder. Retention is good and they kind of pop out easily. Also bullets can face either direction. And is adjustable for cant.
  14. How do you like the Taccom 8up shell caddies? It can hold only 2 correct? Sometimes I only load 2 from my quads. Thanks in advance.
  15. I ordered a safariland one for my dad for Christmas. We can check it out before I give it to him.. And try to make one like it with kydex
  16. Wow thank you, never broke it down like that but makes sense. Any tips on technique or grip? Kind of hard to see in the video. Or do you think it just got worse from speeding up?
  17. Video clip from a 3 Gun match last month. I am really trying to improve my pistol technique and skills. My first 5 shots where all good hits so I started to speed up quite a bit and then started missing almost every other shot. I also notice my recoil control starts out great and then seems to gets worse and worse. Any explanation for this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. hopefully this link works..
  18. 125gr. Moly coated bullets with 4.7gr. And 1.160 OAL. Have not cronoed it yet but feels ok. Will be loading up some 147gr. and doing more testing with that soon. Good to have a starting point for that.
  19. I shoot a M2000 and I've never had a single malfunction with it, got it new about 2 or 3 years ago. I take my tube off and it is my duck/dove hunting gun, still no issues.
  20. We shoot at the impact zone a lot. The Dissident Arms matches are about an hour away. As well as Cawthon cartridge club. I am also the president of the Aggie 3 Gunners and we shoot at Gun Corps training facility and host practices for our members out there.
  21. I have this problem as well with recoil control, I am working up a really light load with 147 gr bullets barely making minor power factor and it has helped me with finding a grip that works and getting used to how it should feel when I really control the recoil, then going back to full power ammunition I find it easier to control. That video from the second post of this forum really helped me as well. I guess I thought I was gripping it high. If my methodology is wrong please correct me as this is something I struggle with as well.
  22. Decided I should introduce myself after a couple months of lurking around the forum. I've been shooting competitively for about 2 years now and really love 3 Gun. Mainly just hoping I can improve my skills by being more involved in the forum. Conner
  23. I have a gift Cert for a RAMP or SKEL I am trying to sell for $90 if you are interested. I run the SKEL and it has been great for me.
  24. Will do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Ok awesome, I picked one up earlier, I'm hoping to make some tomorrow maybe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
