  1. Thanks Marshal82; After you got the edge up did you have to continually apply the heat while pulling , and do I need a third hand to hold onto the gun while I pull, or will it peel right off pretty easy because of the heat ? i also wondered if that liquid Goof product might work better than alcohol.
  2. OK !: I've went and used 3M anti slip tape.black sand paper type. How do you remove it ? to replace it . I called 3M they said to heat it up a little , hair drier what ever, and then use 91% alcohol to remove the stick residue. Is this the best way ?
  3. Just a heads up Guys; I Called Soeger to order a replacement part , and they have become very helpful . So don't hesitate to call.there service tech dept. They even called me back to let me know my part had shipped out. ( RIGHT ON STOEGER )
  4. BIG THANKS for the picture sdhunternan; especial if you pulled your trigger out to take it. I had put a after market Disconnector to make the shotgun 922r compliant. I did a safety check before putting the trigger group into the receiver, and noticed the disconnector was not touching the hammer it got me wondering WHY ?. So I asked those here, I'm sure Glad I did before I took it the range. I called the company and there shipping the correct one to me.
  5. Stoeger; pretty much the same as Benelli trigger . I did hold the trigger back, and re cocked the hammer looking to see if the hammer would engage the disconnector it did not. Reading through Patric Sweny book on this subject the pictures and types of shot guns in his book are different. Can anyone share Pictures of the Disconector engaged on a Soeger ,or Benelli, or even a Link ?
  6. Looking at a semi auto trigger assembly doing a function test watching the hammer drop. I reset the trigger to the hammer it lock on solid, and the safety working fine. Watching the Disconnector I never saw it touch the back side of the hammer. Is it suppose to, or it only works while it in the receiver and the bolt assembly is what activates it while the gun is being fired?
  7. Good information cajunfighte ; Ii'll keep watching your video's, you seem to be getting better with each one congrats . just me but, I learn more with detailed close ups
  8. Mwc5; Doing some reading through some old post here about trigger jobs.. A shotgun that was having light strikes issues do to a lighter trigger hammer spring he put the original factory spring back in and no more light strikes, problem solved. worth a try
  9. LM choke are safe to shoot slug through, and pretty much what most 3 gun shotgun shooters are calling there overall # 1 choice with IC choke running a close second depending on the shotgun itself, and the testing of different brands of slugs for best point of impact combining with a good tight shot pattern. Reading here there is a overall opinion that a LM choke has that ability to put a tight group of 7.5 -3 dram down range with enough energy to knock down steel at longer distances, and still being accurate for any slug targets down range also . These choke aren't cheep that's why I asked.
  10. Pull the trigger out; test and see if the hammer is failing freely ( with enough force), look at the hammer spring make sure the cap is on the hammer spring . If you took apart the bolt carrier and bolt to clean them take them apart again and check to see if the firing pin moving freely . If every thing looks fine and the gun was running before you sent it out for the lifter work call them first, and send it back the trigger group may be damaged, or just assemble wrong. Things happen
  11. joshs; At first glance I thought I was looking at a Benelli nice job with the whole butt stock . bowhazard; Thanks for the link you'rs seem to be the easiest fit with the slot.
  12. Is there any updates on any after market Butt Pad that would fit , and easy to install ?
  13. Sorry fishstiks) Your right wear those safety glasses (Haven't had my coffee yet)
  14. Just to update and inform: Called Stoeger this time wanting to order a Benelli trigger spring cap, thinking there the same. Spoke with the parts and tech support dept.( Ethan ) wish I would have talked to him the first time. Parts on the way Free. (Ethan - in parts, and tech dept is knowledgeable) said the Benelli trigger spring caps OD is smaller, Stoeger M3000 is a tinny bit bigger. Guhther; I totally agree about (Wear those safety glasses) that happen so fast, it flew by face almost straight up hitting a box then the floor, never to be seen again
  15. I opened up my Stoeger to change out the factory springs to Taran springs, and the trigger spring cap (small plastic) shot out. I searched 4 hrs . today nothing . Stoeger service tech is not very helpful honestly that lady knows nothing gave me a number of shop to call for parts They said M3000 to new has no small parts Any Ideas, I was going to call Benelli see if there trigger spring cap would work . Warning DO NOT work on the smaller parts of your gun in a Garage
  16. Thanks CJW; I feel pretty confidant LM choke is the best way to go with reading ,the response I've gotten from you, and others here. On the issue of impact change is this a common problem ,and everyone deals with it by trying to compensate for it, or installing a rear sight in the hopes of solving the problem ?
  17. I agree David Tubbs book (The Rifle Shooter) Is the most complete book I've found . He does push his rifle, and equipment, but still lots of good information the guy is a living legend .There are also allot rifle shooting Youtube videos out there.
  18. Sorry if I made you wait I like Palmentto State Armory there slow, but all ways done me right, and for the price hard to beat. Just me, but I do think you might be beater off buying the right parts and putting it together in long haul you'll be happy for a few years
  19. Jesse do you shoot for Stoeger, or do want Stoeger on your shirt some where. Just kidding man; just seriously jealous looking at that pic . surely at the level your at, those will be practices guns. Hey and thank you for your input in solving some of the issues with the Stoegers
  20. iswope; Call Taran; during a conversation with them about there trigger springs. They said send my trigger to them for a complete trigger job, they felt that allot of the parts between Benellis, and Stoegers would be interchangeable. It beats sending it ALL back to Stoeger
  21. Kurtm ; We like testing; I like versatile; Would you share more; concerning point of impact changes with different chokes, and slugs hitting high or low, and what you've found to work best for you. P. Kelley did a write up on chokes for Him LM is the most versatile choke for 3 gun. Pat didn't discuss shooting slugs in that particular article only shot and distance .
  22. Hey Tom; depending on which choke your using LM exc. Have you had a problem with your slugs hitting high or low?
  23. The one question I forgot to ask Quality my bad; are Carlson chokes up there, or better off with Briley or any others brands for over all quality . I am going for a extended LM in black.
  24. Done; I'm getting one; Thanks Again
  25. Thanks Everyone; I'm confident with the years of experience found here. Some of you have brought up the change of POA vs. POI ; Low and high. is this a negative side effect in using a Light Modified Choke?
