  1. $469.00 + shipping + bolt carrier + Charging handle = I'm thinking $700.00 still a Good deal. I would think you'd be shooting one MOA with a rifle gassed 18" barrel 1 in 8 twist at 100 yrds even with a Chrome line barrel and good ammunition .
  2. OK; Is it just Carlson making it out to be a big deal ? It sounds like everyone here is saying, it will be fine No Worries. Right ?
  3. So is Carlson right that I should NOT be using a Light Modified (LM) for slugs at all? I understand that in all things there is a built in safety factor of 4 times . Is this whats being said by the Carlson Choke co. to protect them selves against any type of law suites due to the misuse of there chokes. I wanted the added distance and a tighter pattern that would come from a LM choke for bird shot, but wanted to use the same choke tube for slugs without fear of it fowling up with plastic, and then Kaboom I own a breaching tool LOL
  4. I called carlson choke company. Talk to tech support I told them that I wanted to buy Light Modified choke tube for a 3 gun shotgun. I told them I intended to shoot mostly bird shot, some slugs. They told me they do not recommend using LM choke for slugs to much restriction and was unsafe . They said that a Improve Cylinder is what they recommend for slugs.( Ok )I wanted to use one choke for every thing and got the impression around here Light modified was the do all choke. Is it SAFE for slugs or NOT. Do you shoot slugs through a LM choke ?
  5. dkynoch; Try XX2i Optics my eye doctor office carries them. They come with 5 lens colors and a 2 adjustable frames and nice case. My insurance paid most of it because I had one set of lens done with my prescription . Look them up there not Rudy's, but are sold by the Rudy co.
  6. Things can and do happen, are we happy about it NO! . Tom owner .MOA has gone all out to supply owners of Stoegers M3K some really nice aftermarket part and tons of information that no one else is marketing right now with the exception of Taran ,and there also a great company, We all want to have smooth functional shotgun, and that's why we buy it. I've been happy.
  7. Thanks Oskino ;Good video with lots of close up of the loading port, very nice. you make it look easy enough. Thanks P E Kelley ;I thought you were using some type Ruger 22 rifle rear sight with a dove tail cut into the bridge.
  8. Hello Pat Kelley the guy who started it all LOL. Pat I got into the Stoeger stampede late, but I'm in. Would you tell us which sights you use on your shot guns .Looks like a rifle sight for the rear sight, and fiber optic front sight.Just think they would make shootnig slugs way more accurate.I was unable to get my hands on a Shooter Illustrated so I though I'd ask. Also If you wouldn"t mind sharing some dimensions you hold to for installing my own such as the depth of the rear sight and distance from the front sight. Pic's if you have any would be awesome. I can only speak for my self ,but I think everyone here would agree (THANK YOU)
  9. thanks Oskino; close up please,The front area around the magazine tube looks like a step where all that's left is the word Stoe
  10. Cajunfighter; I gave Dremel co. a call talked with tech support they recommended a few high speed cutting bits that would cut aluminum. #124 high speed cutter # 9904 Tungsten Carbide cutter #9931 Structured tooth Tungsten carbide cutter There web page shows a lot more including different types of polishing pads, and sanding drums., and stones. Like your videos on the Stoeger Mods; Have a question about the bolt release video. you say the long screw Taran provides acts as a detent for the spring inside bolt release button right? Is there a existing OEM detent pin inside there were removing, or the button it self has a protruding nipple the spring connect to that were drilling out. I thought the spring just sat in there free floating ?
  11. yea Oskino I remember those air power die grinders. Its was like hanging on to the tail of a one tooth beaver. (you better not relax your grip) . Good imformation
  12. Thanks Oskino; Die grinders have some serious power behind them, I'll try looking around for burr bit to attach on a dremel. Like you said Go Slow
  13. Oskino; If you have the time ? to put together some Pic's of the steps you took, dimensions and tools that help you get that final product. I'm sure we all appreciate it . As someone once said none of us want to own a paper weight LOL
  14. Oskino; Looks Great , something inside me says go for it
  15. Local gun store had a Franchi 26 inch and the guy behind the counter said check it out. The shotgun seems really nice, but right away I noticed the factory checker job WOW! very sharp and deep Franchi did it right, that's what I'm talking about. Still for the money Stoeger is a way better deal
  16. my bad looked a little closer sorry
  17. Is there any problems with law enforcement over removing those serial numbers? not sure so asked.
  18. Gunther; Your owners manual says that you'll need to run a 100 to 200 Heavy Loads . Did you take gun apart and clean the spring under the front hand guard of the grease I used Gunscrub. Sprayed it with CLP wet down the bolt action like a AR-15 with oil . Good to Go.
  19. Thanks everyone again; I'll try tape first, then try a friends stipple gun, and also give Jim Shanahan a call see what he thinks. I'll Pass on cheek weld that would leave a mark ;/ ouch
  20. I was a construction worker,, My hands are beat up dry, and feel like sand paper, So for me the rougher the better on a gun. I'm trying to eliminate thinking about over gripping the gun focus more on the front sight.
  21. something about that upper, thanks jid2
  22. I may try some skate board tape just to see if its good enough
  23. PE Kelley; Man That's one nice looking rifle saw it last night, and just had to see again. Who makes the hand guard?
  24. I was thinking of doing it my self, and no I've never stippled any gun before. I see youtube vids seem pretty straight forward. Thanks for the pic's Tyler I think the tape idea is spot on .
  25. Finbox gotcha: Its what Glocks like best cheep and works great, and like you say when it starts looking bad put a new piece on. I kinda Know stipple is permanent
