I've been here for vacation for the last three days and love it. If I could find a job here I would make it my new home state.

I have been shooting a cheap Bushnell ar 1x4. The reticle left a lot to be desired IMO. I picked up a strike fire this morning from my LGS. I sighted it with hornady 55gr fmj. I love this optic..... I set up a few clays at 40 yds and hit them in succession. I only have 100 rnds with the sight but I am very happy with it.

Thanks...after finishing my first I want to build a second. I was debating on the JP set but for a little more then what they ask just for the receivers I could buy a different brand and a trigger.

I for one have no problem praying before a match or anything else. It's a habit of mine. I do understand that not everyone agrees with it so I just pray alone and if people want to join me that's fine. I also think the Pledge of Allegiance being played over a PA system or maybe just spoken would be acceptable too.

I'm probably leaning toward the 550 more that I think about it. I buy Federal bulk 223 from Wal-Mart for 39.00.per 100 rounds and that adds up quick. I already have calipers from when I built RC helicopters. I'm sure with a little searching I could find the other stuff cheap when the tim comes.

Just curious why they are so much more then others. I looked at their site and they want 320 for a upper and lower set. That's about 120$ more then others for a set.

I built mine for under 1200 & it has all the race goodies except a high end trigger. I used a mil spec trigger with jp springs and a bobbed hammer and it breaks under 4#

Sweet. I have the cheaper Bushnell on mine and it blurs around the edges on x4 mag. -

I seen one at a comp this weekend. It looks like a black tube coming out of the lower. The gentleman who's rifle it was on said he like it and it was really smooth.

Thanks for all the input. The 550 looks nice. what else besides the press do I need at...not extra accessories just what's needed. I know I'll need a scale,tumbler,case trimmer.

I shot 223 mostly..probably 800 rnds a month. The pistol calibers not as much..maybe 250 rnds combined.

Those look nice but I'm trying to keep it under 500$. That's why I was looking at the kits.

223,9mm and 45 acp. When I go to the range I shot a lot and as we know ammo gets pricey.

I'm wanting to start reloading. I see there are several companies that offer kits..Lee,Hornady and RCBS. Is there a particular brand I should stay away from?

After putting 100 or so rounds through the new rifle I have noticed the recoil against my shoulder a bit. Would a heavier or lighter buffer lighting this?
