  1. It's a great trigger. I just wondered if people polished them or not. I didn't look at the mating surface real hard while installing. I was too busy worrying about loctite! Yes, yellow springs. I suspect break-in will help too.
  2. Just installed it. Breaks like glass. A tad heavier than I would like. Has anyone polished theirs? Just curious if some 1911 style stoning would be bad or good,
  3. Is this a non-issue? I guess I expected these things to be super tight fitting and have no play at all?
  4. Setup a qc sf glock lower with a JP trigger. Their anti walk pins are tad too long and also rotate a bit when tightening the button head capture screws. To test the trigger I used milspec pins and the hammer pin just continually walked out. I have no experience with anti walk pins. Are they supposed to spin a bit? The screws would keep them captured I suppose. However, I can't deal with a 1/16 of extra length. Do they need trimmed a bit? Anyone have a similar experience? Not sure if it's the pins or receiver that are off.
  5. I concur. Felt recoil doesnt mean anything. You want the follow up shot to be quick and as close to the original POA as possible. After playing with Tim's adjustable buffer and a 5.6 fixed buffer with rifle springs and .223 springs I have settled on a .223 spring with Tim's buffer dialed with as much preload as the reset will allow. Using 3.6 grains of TG behind a 125RN I get two holes within 1/2 in. of each of other when I have a solid mount and double tap without looking. At 3.4 grains the second shot is higher. This tells me that you need the kinetic energy (snap) to get the return to POA. The heavier buffer with a higher charge and more preload gets the bolt to transfer it's energy back to lowering the muzzle more quickly for the second shot. Results can vary with how much shoulder you put into it, and I would think barrel weight. I am using Tim's ULW barrel. Also, The rifle spring from a physics standpoint makes more sense to return the dot quicker, but I like the feel of the .223 better and think it suits my stance for whatever reason.
  6. I think I have surmised that the Hiperfire 24c is a bit finicky. On more than one occasion I have had to re-install it at the range due to failure to reset or failure to engage. It always works again, but nonetheless... I'm pretty sure this is related to the amount of grime PCC produces.
  7. All stripped lowers $200 today only.
  8. Did you use the red loctite? If so, how was it going back and making a further adjustment?
  9. Tagged for interest. Considering this trigger
  10. Yup, 124s. They make the dot return quickly, its a quick and sharp felt recoil with a snappy return. A 223 spring and buffer is a softer feeling recoil, but slower return. At least that's what it felt like to me. I enjoy your system and think it's smartly designed and a great price.
  11. Works well. See Tim's post a page or two back. I spent a few hours on the range the other day with Tim's buffer and also a .223/5.7 oz. buffer. I also switched the buffer and the springs around a bit. I landed with Tim's stock setup. .223/5.7 = softer stroke feel Tim's = snappy, but comes right back. Easy to get carried away with all of this. In the end I went with what felt right to me. Neither was such a marked improvement over the other that it was going to increase my shooting ability or scores.
  12. As a note. My CMMG firing pin lasted maybe 1500 rounds.
  13. No real issues. If a glock lower I would stongly recommend the taccom feed ramp. Strongly recommend Odin mag release as suggested earlier.
  14. Any good tips on getting that foam piece on?
  15. I actually switched to PCC due to issues in my pistol weak hand from repetitive gripping from pistol shooting. PCC saves you gripping hard, that's about it. Depending on what setup you shoot it can cause other issues due to the weight of it. I began to get tennis elbow in my strong hand from the weight of the rifle during repetitive practice. The Taccom setup alleviated that a bit. Don't buy a PCC thinking you're doing your body a favor due to old age. As the others said, some of it is even more awkward, and it is ultimately heavier. Good luck!
  16. Not been my experience, but to each his own. Hopefully it works out for you. Dawson base pad on 31 stick yields 37 + Barney. Plenty for make ups and no reloads. I changed springs in my taccom splice and did have a ftf. After looking closely, I noticed the floor plate had slipped and gone vertical when I put it together. First time it ever failed me. Appears it's my fault.
  17. Along these lines. PSA complete lower - $189 shipped.
  18. I use Titegroup. No difference I can tell either.
  19. Agreed on all counts. I will say my Odinworks extended mag catch is great. Its beveled a bit, and smooth. Definitely an upgrade over the NFA polymer one (which isn't bad really). Highly recommended.
  20. Once you run this barrel you won't want to shoot anything else. I love mine.
  21. Right, but again. One isn't made of magical metal while one is not. I think my conclusion is that when it comes to a piece of billet aluminum there isn't a big difference between manufacturers as far as build quality. Things like LRBHO or what style pins hold the mag catch seem to be different, but that's not a quality issue. That's just a feature issue. Again, just curious. You can get a complete lower w/ Magpul furniture from PSA for $219 shipped, but then I see QC who wants $285 for a stripped lower. Makes me wonder what I'm paying for other than the brand name.
  22. I get this, and it certainly makes sense. But the question is. What is the difference between this lower https://newfrontierarmory.com/shop/c-9-stripped-billet-lower-receiver-glock-style-mags/ and this lower https://www.quartercircle10.com/products/receivers/lower-receivers/glock-small-frame-lower-receiver.html When buying just a lower. Why would someone pick the QC over the NFA?
  23. What's everybody's opinion on the difference between a "budget lower" like an NFA vs. a "high end" JP or QC? What are we paying more for? This isn't a troll thread, just a serious question. I'm new to AR's and want to understand what the difference is.
