  1. Thanks for the compliments guys. I am shooting the airsoft pictured above. It is a WE Hi-Capa 5.1 gas gun.
  2. You can't get a Spartan in .40... And if you are happy with the Spartan you will be tickled to death with the Trojan. Free narrow front sight from Dawson too btw...
  3. Yeah- I liked the show. But thought it was too short and would have like it better if they had some of the rest of the competition. So is that where the $200 plus entry fee goes to? The payout for the professionals?
  4. Hey now, your video of the match on Sat showed a malfunction of some kind...LOL. Regardless, I'd agree on the Trojan over the Spartan for the reasons you mentioned plus the fact that I like the undercut trigger guard better and the chain link on the front strap is a nice touch for a lot less than hand cut checkering. I'm not as bad a trigger snob as Z is...anything in the 2.5lb ballpark or less and it's not going to hold me back...but I do like the SV short curved and Koenig combo on my Trojan. Yikes, I just added it up and I've probably got something like $1700 in my Trojan. Original price, all new fire control parts, SV ambis, reliability package and trigger job from McLearn, Techwell magwell, and I still haven't fit the new (free)Schuemann barrel that's sitting in a drawer ready to go! That was an ammo related jam. Had to borrow some to finish the match.
  5. I have added an SV trigger and will be adding a Keonig hammer as well. But it isn't a necessity for the budget conscious.
  6. I would seriously consider the Trojan over the Spartan. I have had both and the Trojan is far more refined and trouble free. When I bought the Trojan .40, I didn't get any special package or tuning. It has run 100% so far and the trigger is quite nice. I don't feel that the trigger weight is an issue (almost 4lbs), because it is crisp and consistant.
  7. I think in the orginal case mentioned, it would be a waste of time just to have one more round in the gun. If only eight more shots are required, and you have eight in the gun, why take the time to make an extra reload?
  8. Yeah- I guess it would depend. I voted go with 7+1, unless there is steel in the next array...
  9. Thanks Chris, I have noticed you have really amped up your shooting too!
  10. I thought I would share video of the local run and gun. It was beautiful weather- said a high of 75, but I think it felt like 80. I had to take a layer of clothing off as I was expecting cooler weather. One of the better club matches that I have had a pleasure to shoot! We shot a 4 stage match totalling 128 rounds. Thanks for a fun match and all the work that is done to assemble them. I hope I have been of some help the past few months! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxymkWGH1_8
  11. He has got to be floating on air right now! Couldn't happen to a more deserving competitor.
  12. I am having good luck with both the Wilson #47 NX and regular #47 .45 cal magazines with the extended base pads in my Trojan.
  13. My first major USPSA event was February 2005, and it was the Winter Indoor IPSC Tournament. Match was, and still is, held in Rockford, Illinois. The only way for me to get into the match was to take an RO class and work on the staff. This match routinely sells out in a week if not days. Staff usually work 16-18 hours a days and shoot in between ROing and breaking down and setting up the stages to be shot. See there is only three indoor bays. So You shoot the first three stages at zero-dark-thirty and then RO all competitors through the stage. Then tear them down and set up another three. RO all competitors, then shoot those three and tear them down and set up another three stages. Now you can either shoot those three that night or come in and shoot them at zero-dark-thirty the next morning. I opted to go to the hotel and come in the next morning, as I was beat. I came away as 1st B in Production Division shooting a Glock 34. I remember that I kept telling myself that I just need to "survive" each stage and I will do fine. I remember saying to myself I don't need to win every stage. I also got to meet, shoot and work with some of the midwest's finest and had a blast. It was one of the most satisfying win's I have ever experienced. Looking back now, it is pretty cool what you remember and how I can still feel what I felt those two days!
  14. Yeah it is a recoilmaster- you need to lock the slide to the rear and place that little green plastic tool in, then release the slide and disassemble. I see the tool in your picture. In your case it is black...
  15. I will get it hard chromed once I have it broken in and sure that it balances the way I want. I have to agree and prefer the chromed look. But I think it will look cool blued also...
  16. A short while ago I did some researching on bullet prices per thousand. This is what I came up with...
