  1. Mike, you're no fun! The wink smiley face was suppose to show sarcasm, which never translates well over the internet. There is a good amount of "encouragement" in our squad. But I do enjoy shooting with you and John, Its good to shoot with people that have been shooting this game since before I was born. :) Just Kidding
  2. Pete, I won't put to much stock in the classifiers and making A class. You'll end up pushing to hard in the beginning trying to force the classifer. Work on shooting smoothly. You have the skill, you just need to get back into the flow, which will take live fire. You are welcome in my squad anytime also.... we don't harrass shooters or try to get into their head as the are preparing to shoot If you have Matt or Steve tape you during the match, they will point out all your errors while you are shooting with colorful commentary, they are very helpful
  3. I have had my Bedell for about a year, It just runs and runs, when I first got the gun, I would jam once in a while, Dan was extremely helpful on the phone, He said 99% of the time its ammo related, he spent the time going over everything I should look at regarding my ammo, And of course he was right, My sizing dies was not resing the cases. Once I replaced that, the gun runs 100% I would recommend one

    Fall 2007

Thanks, I like your pumpkin pic, My wife carved these. This is the Wife
  5. I'm new to the shotgun world, but I load weak hand if I am moving just a few steps and strong hand if I am running. I find the gun bounces to much while running to load weak handed.
  6. Yep, started to rush to regain time. On the last stage, my first reload, a shell came out of the tec-loader tube and hit the loading gate sideways, so the reload was botched, the next reload, one shell came out as I was reloading. So I only got 3, I had no idea how many shell I had left in the mag tube. I should have stopped shooting and do another reload or 2 so I would know how many shells I had left. But instead I ran the gun dry a few times But it was alot of fun and I am looking forward to the next one
  7. Here is a Video from my first shotgun match. I learned a lot, especially that you still need to aim with a shotgun. I was trying to count rounds, and missing really screwed me up, In the last stage I ran dry alot, not only because of the misses, but when I whip the tec-loaders out of the pouch, I sometimes would have a round or 2 come out of the tube befire loading it. Still had a lot of fun. Any critiques or tips would be great. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-406472310504621375
  8. Another soul! If someone offers to let you shoot their Open gun, just slowly walk away. Its a Trap
  9. Update from the match. All my reloads went smooth, the only issue was if I pulled the tec-loader out of the pouch and whip it up to the gun, shells would come out. Thanks for everyones help. I used the same band shells as before. I think dremeling out the mag tube area and trimming the tec-loader tabs just a bit helped alot Thanks for all the help
  10. After my last Hard drive crashed, I singed up for Carbonite.com $5 per month no storage limits. The only issue I have is that it will not back up from external drive. but you can storage a file on the C drive, have it backed up then transfer it to the external
  11. I trimmed a little off the tec-loader bracket to allow the tube to come slightly further down. I trimmed it in an angle to help lock it in further down I also had the Mag tube and receiver area dremeled out even more. So far, it seems to be better using the same ammo. We'll see how it goes tomorrow, first shotgun match
  12. I have the issue with Remington, maybe I should try winchester
  13. I have been practicing loading with a tec-loader and Arredondo chute. when there is no rounds in the mag tube, I can load 100% of the time, If there is a round in the mag tube, when I load, the first round, comes in too high and the front of the shell hits the top of the rim of the shell in the tube. This cause the rim to catch where the mag tube and receiver come together. It does this even when I insure that the tabs are hitting the hooks where they should. Now if I make the angle of attach steeper than the Arrendondo chute, I seem to be able to get the first shell to come in lower and not hit the rim of the shell in the tube. I have relieved the receiver around the mag tube. A few possible solutions to the problem, would either be have the shell in the tube, further back, I would some how increase the length of the shell release. or trim the length of the EZ-loader so the shell will be lower coming in or does anyone have any additional suggestions Thanks
  14. Thanks John.

Not going back to L-10, the best competition is in Open, but I did shoot SS today, that was fun

  15. I am interest in converting my AR into open, right now I am running a 7.5" barrel, the gun is great out to 100yards, after that I can't hit any thing. I am looking for something that will work for both. Light to transistion, but with enough accuracy for 300yrds Basically I don't have alot of cash for this and won't shoot the rifle nearly as much as my pistol. So spending big bucks on a barrel is not worth it for me. From what I have read, an full length gas system is going to shoot the softest. But if the 7.5" doesn't bother me, a mid-length should feel soft, right? I would like to get a stainless barrel. For open, can I get away with 16" or is 20" the way to go?. Should I go with an 18" (which seems difficult to find) don't want to get a 20" cut I was thinking this barrel with a low profile gas block http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=550750 Will it feel to long and slow on transitions. Should I get a 16"? Something like a RRA in mid-length http://rockriverarms.com/item-detail.cfm?I...FTOKEN=90525930 another option I was thinking of was this. so I wouldn't have to worry about switching barrels back and forth http://rockriverarms.com/item-detail.cfm?I...FTOKEN=90525930 Any tips or suggestions on what I should get would be great
  16. For my Bedell shorty in super, I am running 8.9gr of 4756 under either 124gr Montana or 125gr Zero. making 170pf at around 90 degree, when the temp goes back down I will slowly drop the charge to around 8.6 for the winter time
  17. good to hear your Kitten is doing better. It is amazing what they will eat. I had a dog that ate a pair of glassess, lenses and all, then washed it down with a tube of zinc oxide. Luckily the zinc protected its stomach from being ripped up by the glass.
  18. I have been loading on 2 Lee Pro 1000 for about a year and a half, 35k of .45acp and 10K or .38super. the press is $120, they take more to keep running and certainly are not at the level of Dillon, alot of plastic and pot metal, but they do produce good ammo. The money I have saved has allowed me to buy more componets, will it pay off in the long run? maybe, maybe not. But at this point the presses have served me well.
  19. I use to try to do everything fast. now I try to do everything smooth. I wasted more time trying to save time in the wrong places. shoot slow, do everything else fast
  20. me too , but only after re-weighing the last bullet. From 171.3 to 165.0000000000001 yikes. Super Moto, nice shooting, how'd you end up? I ended up 11th, which I am happy with, I tried to shoot conservatively, trying to get 1st shot hits on steel. But I seem to take alot of time to set up on the steel. Bermunda, I missed the popper the 1st shot, shot it again 3 times, on the original video, you can hear the three hit, wasted alittle time there, In past matches I tried to shoot steel way to fast and end up costing myself more time. It was a great time and I learn alot.
  21. Here is a video of 3 of the stages. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=48...94492&hl=en It was my first major match...lots of fun, Made Major at 165.0
  22. Congrats on the article. My squad at the Area 7 match, 5 of the shooters were shooting Dan's guns. A friend recently ordered one after shooting mine, The word is getting out. Dan builds one hell of a gun
  23. tanked only one stage, thats good. I tanked two and bobbled a third. + stage 5...had to restart as the drop turner was not set up. On the reshoot, I nailed the drop turner 2 A's, and picked up a miss on the left target (2 into hard cover) I had to put 4 in the drop turner, the first 2 went into hard cover. The next 2 were As that went all the way across the A zone
