  1. Yup that is right. I understand your confusion because I too thought I needed four that were each 40% or better - so I was surprised when I made "C" in Limited10 with one that was under 40%.
  2. Well I replaced the base pads with Dawson extended pads for Wilson Combat mags and that made them work if I slammed them really really hard as it gave the spring slightly more room to compress. I cut one coil off of one of the mags and it now works perfectly. I don't have to slam it that hard and it works perfectly even when there is only one round in the magazine. Problem solved!!!
  3. Why are you having to pay for Tapatalk? I have it on my iPhone and did not have to pay for it, its a free app now. Also it is not broken on this forum, the problem is you have to log in each time you go to use it. If you just click a link from a notification email it won't let you post but if you log in it will let you post - well at least it lets me post. There is a pro version that is $3.99 but I don't know what that does that the free version does not do.
  4. I'll add some to the above post. Cops are just people, and a gun is a tool of the trade. It is not much different than a computer for an office worker. Some love their computers and can do amazing things with them. Some customize them and hack them and can build them from scratch. Others hate them, barely know how to turn them on, can't remember a password, and are constantly calling tech support to do routine stuff. That said, some cops are great shooters, others are down right dangerous. Unfortunately too many seem to subscribe to the spray and prey approach. My indoor range recently opened up a new section, and before it opened to the public they did a bunch of police training and qualifications. You would not believe the number of hits into the floor and ceiling - it was down right scary.
  5. Any issues with the last round not feeding when you cut the spring? How much did you cut off?
  6. Getting very frustrated. I called Wilson Combat and they said they have heard of problems with their mags in STI guns, that they hit the extractor and I might have to take some metal off the bottom of the extractor. I took the slide off and the mags click right into place perfectly and do not touch the extractor. They insert and click into place perfectly with the slide locked back too. BUT if the slide is forward they will not click into place. I've had them loaded up for almost 24 hours and that is still the case. Suggestions welcomed, but please don't just tell me to buy another type of mag
  7. This past Saturday I was using my STI Trojan 9mm and I placed one in the chamber with a barney mag and then slapped my fully loaded 10 round Wilson Combat Elite Tactical Mags #500-9 with ETM base pads into the magwell. At the buzzer I drew and went bang and then click with the mag hanging out about an inch. At first I thought stupid me, but when it happened on every reload I realized even I am not that stupid. This morning I went to the range and loaded them all up with 10 rounds and when I slap them in the don't click and I can grab the base pad and very easily pull them out of the gun. If I load them with 9 rounds they click and lock into place and cannot be pulled out. Does anyone else have problems with these mags, especially in an STI Trojan? I am thinking perhaps it is because they are fairly new. I am going to try to fully loading them with ten rounds and let them sit for a week. Any other ideas?
  8. Sounds like my gun, its a real tack driver. Only problem I have had is with my Wilson Combat mags with the ETM base - not sure if the mag or just stupid me but in every stage of a USPSA match this weekend on reload I went bang then click as the mag popped down - sucked big time. Just ordered some extended base pads for them this morning. Live and learn
  9. Its hard to tell from the picture, but they don't look any larger than what comes on the mags: http://shopwilsoncombat.com/1911-Elite-Tactical-Magazine-9mm-Full-Size-10-Round-ETM-Base-Pad/productinfo/500-9/
  10. I've got a few #500-9 Wilson Combat Elite Tactical Mags, 9mm 10 round ETM base pads and I would like to get some extended pads for these if possible. Does anyone know the model number and where I can find these. The only ones I see on the Wilson Combat web site are for 45acp mags. I see also they have some glue on pads, do these work? I rather get extended pads if possible, but if not I guess I could go the glue on route. Thanks.
  11. OK, I am far from an expert here, but I have a question. Even if it is not a squib and does go down range isn't there an issue because you know "know" that the round did not meet minimum power factor?
  12. Why not just use the GoPro head strap, you don't even realize you are wearing it: http://gopro.com/camera-mounts/head-strap-mount?utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=googlebase&gclid=CPnBsszPj7wCFWHNOgodH0gAYA
  13. Basically it is the base pistol https://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=80000E0A-1388518199 to which they add Dawson Fiber Optic front sight, competition rear, magwell, and extended IDPA mag release button if I recall correctly.
  14. My first match was this past summer with my Glock G22 in SSP. Since then I have tried my luck with a Beretta 92FS in SSP and CZ-75B in ESP (wanted to shoot cocked and locked). Its interesting that while I have gotten better I think the gun has something to do with how I have done. I did a classifier in Aug with the G22 and another in Nov with the CZ and took about 40 seconds off my time. If the weather ever allows I plan to try the next one with my STI Trojan 9mm.
  15. I recently got a Dawson STI Trojan CRP in 9mm and love it. While some have suggested .40 cal I rather shoot 9mm. Sure .40cal lets you shoot major, but if you are accurate there is not much advantage to that and 9mm gives you 10 rounds rather than 8 rounds.
  16. I recently bought my STI Trojan CRP 9mm from Dawson and was very happy with them.
  17. Ding ding ding......that sounds like great advice. Thanks!
  18. Well I replaced a similar system here in NJ a few years ago. Went with a Carrier Infinity high eff HVAC system with dual stage compressor and ECM blower. The ECM blower adds to the upfront cost but is well worth it as it gives you continuously variable output and draws very little electricity. We had a power outage for several days two years ago and I ran 200' of extension cord from a house across the stream and back-fed the furnace and one light through that 15amp circuit and never had it trip.

Sounds like you have the same two that I have. The matte stainless is factory stock and the black worked on by the CZ Custom shop:
  20. I have a SIRT pistol and while I think it is useful to a point, I wonder if it actually introduces negative techniques. Its not like the laser burns a hole in the target, you have to take your eyes off your sites and look where the laser is shining. Is this sort of like picking your head up in golf to watch where your shot goes that actually messes up your shot? Perhaps the better approach would be using a laser AND a video camera and only checking out how you did after you are finished shooting.
  21. Wow the local IDPA matches I go to (NJ / PA) all charge $10 for the match. One of them even includes two slices of Pizza for lunch in that price!
  22. Yup real is slower, but has nothing to do with the walls. Try dry firing with the walls, you will still be fast. Its knowing that the gun will go bang and knowing that you will really know where the bullet hits that slows you down - well at least that is the case for me.
  23. Not certain, it was done by CZ Custom. I liked my Chrome one so much that I bought the black one slightly used. It had a bunch of work done on it by CZC. Competition hammer and trigger work, fiber optic front sight and competition rear sight.
  24. Heck its a game and they wanted to make it like another game - basketball. You can take one step as long as you don't move your pivot foot, otherwise it is traveling and you get a procedural. All kidding aside, who cares? Its a game, you play by the rules of the game. It never was realistic anyway as the targets don't shoot back at you.
  25. Here are my pair of CZ-75B's
