I think it is a great way to go. As a cautionary note I found that if I shot my .22 allot it messed up my timing. So when shooting the .22 I only shot one round per target, no doubles. As stated above, it is a great tool for running movement drills and such and no brass to pick up.
I am living proof that anyone in this game who puts their mind to it and puts the work in can earn their GM card. My fist card was D-L10 seven years later I got my open GM card.
Think of all the stages we shoot that require a one to three step move, you have enough room in any condo/apartment/garage to practice those.
That seems to answer your question.
The magazine was taken from the shelf; it was just placed on the table top during the draw. If you tried to issue me a procedural you had better get your rule book out and point to a specific rule. I would read the stage procedure as don't load off your belt, but from the mag that started on the shelf.
I agree, however some of us will be there and would like to see what's happened. With out proper (commentary, interviews, ect.) editing a live broadcast of a match might be very boring with all the time between shooters.
Just a thought.
This is all good advice; mine would be to shoot as many as you can before you make the big purchase. Most people at a match will be happily to let you shoot their blasters, it helps if they know you, or see you at shooting a few matches (I might have a hard time letting some complete stranger shoot my baby). Also look at some used pistols for a good deal on a starter.
Mitch was in the squad ahead of us, and he had some smoking runs. We also talked quit a bit (they made us wait for them a few times) and he learned a lot shooting with Manny, and has his head in the right spot.
On one of Saul's Med Cup DVD's there is a stage just like this but the shooter starts in the middle of the corridor and the pistol is placed on a table/barrel to the shooters right. I don't see a big problem with it. At this years SMM3G I dumped loaded guns all over the place and ran up range with no problems. Oh but maybe the table/barrel does not safely ... okay I won't go there.
