  1. Either gun can be made just as reliable and accurate. You can get the Para cheaper, and upgrade as you go. The STI is more $$$, but usually read out of the box. I wouldn't trade my PARA for an out of box STI.
  2. Anyone know what TGO is shooting? Lim or L-10? I might have to go with Dave S. to take Limited this year. Wouldn't that be something.
  3. Put a 200gr. bullet over clays and at 130PF it'll sound and feel like a .22.
  4. I heard that the LAPD was having light hits with their 21's. I belive Glock replaced the trigger bar as noted above, and the prob was solved.
  5. Hmm. I wonder if open Glocks will every catch on, this has got to help though. Congrats Dave.
  6. Its about the same as ima45dv8 stated for all the USPSA clubs I shoot at for monthly matches. Shots on the scoring lines, mikes and no shoots are always pointed out to the RO and shooter, as they should be. Revolving RO's do cause problems in IDPA, But not really in USPSA due to the reasons you stated. Major USPSA matches are a different story. Stage asigned RO's, and targets are scored along with the RO and shooter. Welcome to USPSA. You'll have a blast.
  7. Limited 1st Todd J., 2nd. Rob L. L-10 1st. Dave S., 2nd (depends on who shoots L10 instead of Limited) maybe Rob L. Revo 1st. Jerry
  8. If some good sights become available for the M&P40 I won, I might start shooting it instead of my Glock 34&35. I really like the feel of the trigger.
  9. I did not state which "major match" as to not offend the club or the involved, both incidents I refered to have been played out on this forum and the first one got out of hand and was closed by the BE Admin., so I wanted to stay away from it. In the months after these two incidents of "rehersals", at monthly matches that is all you heard at matches, rehersal this, rehersal that. And it got old fast, and it drives away shooters. I guess I've just got tired of the "I'm looking for any thing I can to call on a shooter mentallity that has seemed to become popular in IDPA. If the rule is black and white, call it. If you have to interpret a rule, then you need to give the shooter the benefit of doubt. I was a certified SO Instructor, but I have since allowed my membership to expire. I also have not been gigged at matches, but when others have before you, it still effects you as well as others. Sorry for the thread drift.
  10. Actually the shooter was up, standing at the start position, next to the SO, and looked around the first corner. Not a case of the phantom pasters, though they are out there. Something simular, but different happened to Taran Butler at the nationals also. My point is to marinegrunts post, that I totally agree with, but there are others out there that call this "rehearsing". So one must be careful at different clubs.
  11. "the Command Load and make ready allow movement looking around the barricade etc. so long as no sight picture/airgunning takes place and falls under the Make ready command that was issued. An SO that has a problem with this is probably one of two things. 1. A range Nazi 2. A poor shooter that has a jealousy problem with an Aggressive "read better" Shooter." I agree. However last year at a major match, looking around the barricade at the start position was considered "rehearsing" by the SO and backed up by the MD. It was taking up with HQ's and their response, of course, was open to interpitation. Let the shooter go through his routine, everyone has one, just some tend to be longer than others.
  12. Glock 34 or 35(minor .40) is hard to beat.
  13. I too would like to see more strong+weak hand shooting, dragging a dummy or shooting while carring a bag or suitecase in one hand, Those are the things I miss since not shooting IDPA any more(I started in IDPA) But I'm lucky enough that the two clubs I shoot at the most, throw in a lot of 35+yd targets as well as a lot of tight no-shoot, hard cover shoots to keep the skills up.
  14. 8, 12, 18 round stages? No 170mm mags? Standards? No texas stars or other tricky targets? No freestyle? This all sounds a lot like IDPA. doesn't it?
  15. If you got the time to shoot the open gun like crazy before the match, Shoot the open gun. You can bump up your 1% with a single classifier at the next monthly match.
  16. NO DQ.... If the shooter was going through te CoF as scripted, and the S.O. moves in the way, or does not move out of the way, knowing the shooter is coming, its the S.O. that has "Endangering any person, including yourself?"
  17. Rumor has it, the 2007 WCDC is going to be even bigger and better. Can't wait.
  18. Lucky for us in Kalifornia, or Lawmakers saw this unsafe, press check method, and mandated that all new guns in Kali must have a loaded chamber indicater. Wow they really are in touch with us commoners.
  19. Detail strip, clean, and lube before a match.
  20. I would be there, and I know of quite a few more that would go. As for the out of state guys w/ hicaps, I pretty sure you can bring them in as long as they are for your use only. Maybe some one will chime in with the PC sec. to make it official. Or contact CA DOJ for an answer.
  21. Wow, this was a great fun match. Challanging for all, but not difficult on the c,d, shooters. No bottle necks. Great RO's I was one of them The turn out was great, with a lot of big name shooter. Great prize table, 1st place in every class, in both Div's walked away with a gun! As well as a Bar-sto .40, custom Glock 34, SV single stack was giving away in a random drawing, as well as tables full of other prizes. Congrats again to Dave and Taran, Two great shooters and really nice guys to talk to. Thanks again to Mike and Souzan, it turned out great. Pics to come.
  22. The 2006 Silver Buckle was a great, well ran match, Good RO's, and no bottle necks. 5-dogs was little better location too. Possible improvements, Post the stages online, post the competitor list online. I think I can speak for most shooters, the DR. Evil stage was a little much, Gm & M class shooters were walking away shaking their heads. Challenging is good, Making shooters cry, not good. Thank you to all that put the match on.
