  1. Thanks for all of your answers. I knew that both Dillon & BE were top shelf but this seals the deal.

If I were to ask the same question about most any other company, there would be at least ONE unhappy customer. Nope.....Not Here!!!

Thanks to everyone who sent in a reply, and thanks to Brian for the use of the website.

Now I need to find a little help in deciding what I need to order ... then I am off to the loading bench with my New Blue

One last question, does Dillon make a camofloge unit? Looking for a way to hide this from the wife.

I have been telling her for 2 years now that I have misplased a new Blue reloader that came a long time ago (didn't have a place to set it up) and it must have become lost in the atic. B) She has even helped me look for it........ohhhh that's sooooo bad :o It will get really Bad when I find it soon.

Just need to get it off the little brown truck and up into the atic, (maybe add a little dust) so she can help me find it!

Anyone ever been throught this, all for a Big Blue ? Know a good divorce lawyer? :(

    Shoot-4-Ever,

You are taking the wrong approach. While it may seem like a large expense, when she actually sees how much money you will save by reloading she will like the press a lot. Show her the math and use 45acp ammo for the calculations. You'll pay for the press in about a year with the money you save.

The more you shoot, the more you save...

  2. However it is a short dustcover, bushing barreled gun.

Interestingly, while the current pics on the STI site show a bushing gun, the specs say bull... And all the Eagles I've handled have been bull barrelled, as well... Hmm....

Either way, the gun could play in Limited or L-10... - Personally, I like the short DC weight better, anyhow...

Mine has a bushing. They come both ways. I was told the Bushing was more popular because it's IDPA legal.

  3. Bill,

Doesn't really matter as the new version of the DOH can be easily converted by removing the drop bracket and then you have a belt holster.

you may just want to order the bracket as then you can use the holster in IDPA as well.

I don't currently shoot IDPA and am not really planning to, but I suppose it would be nice to have a holster that's legal for both.

    Thanks,

    -Cuz.

  4. A STI Eagle would not be a legal USPSA Production gun, it's a single action pistol. FYI.

Damn. You really know how to burst a bubble. And to think I was getting excited about shooting it in Production this year. That's what happens when you don't read the rules.

Ok, then I guess I need a Production holster for my Glock 17 instead. That should be ok to shoot, all I did was replace the sights with Dawson adjustable rears and Fibre optic fronts.

    Please tell me that's ok.

  5. Can someone tell me what the standard recoil spring weight is for a Glock 17L? I want to install an ISMI captured guide rod and ISMI recoil spring that is just one step down from factory. Looks like ISMI make an 11, 13, 15, and 17 lb spring. Which should I use.

Also, is the recoil spring assembly the same for the Glock 17 and 17L?

    Thanks,

    -Cuz.

  6. I have heard great things about TruGrip as you can see in the above posts. I just used regular skateboard tape. It may manicure your hands at first but it does everything I need it to do. I can buy Skateboard tape roll for $5. I may make the TruGrip purchase one day.

Whether you use TruGrip or sketboard tape, it assists when your hands are sweaty or wet.

    Glock17w

    Glock17w,

I agree that skateboard tape will work very well indeed. What I have found though is that with TruGrip, my gun looks as good as it shoots. With skateboard tape my guns tend to look like they are somewhat crappy with a hack job tape wrapping. Now that may just be my lack of skill at cutting up the skateboard tape, but for just a few extra bucks I'll take the stylish TruGrip tape every time.

  7. Thanks all. I picked up my G21 yesterday and ran a couple hundred rounds thru it. Shoots exactly as expected. Only problem with it is that it doesn't have any TruGrip tape wrapped around it, but I will rectify that before it makes its next trip to the range.

    I appreciate all the input.

  8. Whether grip tape will work for you is entirely dependent on how you grip the gun.

    Eric,

I don't know about that, but I can tell you I absolutely hated Glocks until I fired one that had your grip tape on it. Then I realized my problem was I just couldn't seem to hang on to the gun. Once I tried it on my one and only Glock I have since acquired 3 more Glocks and they all get TruGrip tape before I even fire them. I am now in love with my Glocks and find that shooting them is a pleasure.

Thanks for coming up with an awesome product.

  9. I had terrible luck with plated bullets in my 40 cal SVI with Scheumann barrel.

    However,

I have had very good luck shooting Berry's plated bullets in .38/.357 (S&W 686 Revo), 9mm (STI and Glock 17 and 17L), and 45acp (S&W 625 Revo and Glock 21).

In all of the above I'm just about making Minor PF since I use them to shoot steel plates. They are plenty accurate for me. I have not tried pushing them at Major PF velocities.

  10. c-Products mags purchased from 44mag.com

OR C-Products mags straight from C-Products LLC

    I have some, they're good

I have Brownell's too, they are as good or better...

OBTW Don't pay more than $13.00 for Brownell's or about the same for C-Products

$13.00??? They cost $18 at Brownells. Where are you getting them for less?

Also, how do they compare to Bushmaster mags? I'm interested in 20 or 30 round mags that are going to be dependable and reliable. What are the better ones out there that I can buy?

    Thanks.

  11. I knew that Julie Goloski had taken a fall down the stairs at her new home but I didn't know until today that she has several broken vertebrae.

Julie.....best wishes for a speedie recovery. Look forward to seeing you back kicking butt at 100%.

    With respect and admiration,

    Kay

Ouch, sorry to hear that. Wait a minute, did you say new home? Don't tell me Julie's moved out to Springfield to be near the S&W facility??? Nahhh, she would never become a MA resident.

  12. Cuz, that's how I did it 22 years ago.

Put some athletic tape or a cloth band-aid on your WH thumb knuckle until you build enough of a callus to stop the burning sensation

I used a golf glove. It's thin and unobtrusive but the leather still provided protection against the heat.

    Kenny

Thanks, at least I know I'm on the right track. I gotta give some thought to a glove. I'm getting tired of burning the heck out of my thumb from that hot forcing cone.

  13. I am contemplating borrowing my husband's S&W 610 to shoot in USPSA. I am pretty new to revolver shooting and and I am left handed, however the 610 is not, which makes reloading a bit awkward. I was wondering if anyone could share some tips or knowledge about both shooting revolvers and reloading them that would help me out?

    Thanks

Here's what I do, but keep in mind I'm just a "C" class shooter. I'm sure the inputs from the better shooters will probably be faster and have less wasted motions.

    My Left handed Revo reload:

    From a two-handed shooting position,

I use the trigger finger of my left hand to push cylinder release.

My right thumb pushes the cylinder out as it enters the opening in the frame.

At the same time the rest of my right hand is reaching around the lower front part of the frame to grab the cylinder.

I flip the gun so it's pointing straight up in the air with my hand firmly holding on to the cylinder with my thumb thru the frame opening and use my right index finger to eject the brass.

I then flip the gun so it't pointing straight down for the reload.

I keep my reloads on my left side in front of my holster and grab them with my left hand to reload.

After reloading, my left hand goes naturally to the grip as my right fingers push the cylinder closed as my right thumb retracts back thru the frame opening.

That leaves my right hand in place to assume it's support position on the grip.

I'd be curious what anyone else thinks of this method. It seems to work the fastest for me, but I'm willing to try anything that would shave time.

Oh yeah, I use a Blade-Tech holster for my S&W 625 that I think is awesome.

  14. I'm assuming that you want to add weight to your gun??

Personally, I'd opt for the Dawson heavy Ice magwell. Weighs 6.something oz. and looks a whole lot better (to me, black on black is much more asthetically pleasing than brass on black).

Either way I still have the same problem of not being able to use the standard mags. I agree, the black Dawson would probably look better.

    -Cuz.

  15. If I put a THE Brass magwell on my Glock 17, will I need to change the base pads on my stock magazines in order to seat them properly? I never run the gun with more than 10 rounds in a mag so I'm not looking for extra capacity. I would like to add the magwell, but don't want to have to change my magazine basepads. Will this configuration work ok???

  16. I reload 9mm on my 550B and have never had an issue with resizing. Most of my brass is Glock'd and re-Glock'd...am I missing something?

I doubt it matters, but I should have mentioned that I'm using Lee dies on my RL550B. I need to get some lube and give it a try.

    -Cuz.

    Hey Cuz,

    Case Pro 100.

Works great. I have it mounted next to my 1050 that loads my Super ammo. Just turn the case feeder around and use it to drop cases in. I can roll size 100 pieces in well under 5 minutes.

    I have dies for .38 Super, .40 and .223.

    Rich

Thanks. I think I'll try the $6 case lube option before considering the CasePro. It's a little more than I want to spend to resize brass at this time.
