  1. For the strong hand or weak hand thumb?
  2. Im considering lightening my M&P 9 pro slide for 2 different reasons, the first being to lighten the second recoil impulse (the slide returning to battery) and to allow my to run lighter springs and ultimately lower PF ammo (3 gun so PF doesnt matter as long as it will knock the steel over) the second being I think it looks cool have any of yall lightened you pro slides? how much differance did it make in secondary recoil? have you experimented with lighter springs/lower PFs? if so how light/low could you go? also if anyone has cool pictures to show off, I always like looking at cool pictures
  3. ill also add that in my experience the factory firing pin block disengages earlier than the apex, since the edges are less rounded.
  4. Holy cow!!!! You have owned a gun for a year and not shot it... I can't even imagine the pain
  5. I just bought my second m&p, both are 9s. I shoot 3 gun so it's all about capacity
  6. Don't adjust the loop to muck or back and forth to much, metal will work harden and break... It may have happened to a.... Ummm.. Friend
  7. Another vote for the Bobro, best mount on the market in my opinion.
  8. I removed and checked the rtz with a 24x Vortex. It was unnoticeable out to 500
  9. I highly recommend the mounts from Bobro Engineering, self adjusting QD mounts that return to zero
  10. you can use 20 ga. if you want. just saying
  11. Where in the fnh rules does it say it puts you in open? The only thing I can find for restrictions in TAC-ops is optic/sights, weights, comp/porting, and mag length restrictions. 5.31 says that firearms must be of factory configuration Which is very vague in my opinion....I only know this because I ro fnh and asked the question to the md and amd and the answer I got was moved to open Interesting... As a shooter, I would have put up a serious fuss about that one.
  12. before i started reloading i used Freedom 55gr for everything, out to 600 yds. now I started reloading 77gr noslers for anything past 350 and still shoot cheap 55gr for anything closer than 350
  13. Where in the fnh rules does it say it puts you in open? The only thing I can find for restrictions in TAC-ops is optic/sights, weights, comp/porting, and mag length restrictions.
  14. I was thinking just cut a slot out of the side for it to ride in.
  15. Thanks for the input guys, I think im going to stick with factory
  16. Does anyone use a thumb rest for their weak hand thumb for 3 gun? It looks like a decent idea but I haven't seen any of the pros using one, the only drawback I can see is having to find/modify a holster to work.
  17. Why? What's a 40 round Pmag cost? $3 more than a 30 rounder maybe? I wouldn't call bigger mags extravagant toys. Agreed. If you wanna limit mags go shoot factory. Limited to 30rd mags exactly like you want. I am going to shoot factory. I do appreciate that I can use my gear from last year, but I am not a fan of the reduced capacity. Honestly I think it will be good for the division in the long run. They needed to separate it from Practical (tac-ops) somehow. At some point I will be trying my hand at Practical.
  18. Yeah I might try and weld something up this weekend, just can't decide if it's really worth it for a 9mm. Don't see many 3 gun pros using one.
  19. Honestly I'm not sure yet, I was thinking something that screws into the frame or welding a tab to the takedown lever would be much easier to work with a practical holster. But if you have experience or recondition with the speed ledge I'd love to hear them.
  20. Im considering putting a thumb rest on my 3 gun pistol (M&P 9mm), mostly to aid in grip position consistency, but I figure it can only help my pistol shooting. My concern is getting it to work with my holster. Currently I'm running a Safariland ALS, I have no problems cutting it up to make it work. Or maybe switching to a different practical style holster that I can cut up. Any one done this before? Just looking for some brainstorming help.
  21. Im shooting a M&P 9mm full size. Im about to start reloading 9mm for 3 gun at about 130 power factor, do I need to change to a reduced weight recoil spring? will be using xtreme 147 hp if it matters
  22. Im mostly worried about poppers that may be a little heavy. Do you have to change recoil springs between two loads?
  23. I'm about to start loading 9 mm for 3 gun only, so I'm not worried about power factor at all. I'm going to shoot 147 hp from xtreme bullets How low of a velocity/power factor are yall comfortable running to knock over 3 gun steel? I shoot a M&P 9mm, am going to have to change recoil springs for reduced power loads? I'm still learning so all advice is welcome.
  24. Have you tried it without a palm swell on the gun?
