Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. And here I am supposed to be saving money for my wedding...
  2. https://www.speedshooter.com/product_detail.cfm?id=SAS&n=Swenson-Ambi-Thumb-Shield-Safety
  3. I've been looking around for an app for a little bit and came across Chronograph Log from on-core and was wondering if anyone's used it/using it? Is it worth the couple bucks? Thanks in advance!
  4. While I don't have any info for 1.180 OAL, I do have some info from a load I just completed. My Setup and Load: 5" STI 1.144 OAL 4.1 GR N320 200 GR TNT (More on this later) To reach 165 PF you need a minimum muzzle velocity of 825. I know most won't need this, but just for reference to get your PF the equation is (Bullet Weight X Muzzle Velocity)/1000 = PF. When chronoing, I did 2 separate rounds of 9 shots each. ROUND 1: 869 - 173.8 877 - 175.5 871 - 174.2 871 - 174.2 859 - 171.8 864 - 172.8 865 - 173 876 - 175.2 870 - 174 In the first round there was a FPS average of 869.11 and a PF average of 173.82 ROUND 2: 867 - 173.4 874 - 174.8 857 - 171.4 886 - 177.2 862 - 172.4 864 - 172.8 868 - 173.6 857 - 171.4 879 - 175.8 In the second round there was a FPS average of 868.22 and a PF average of 173.64 So I can reduce the powder load to 4.0 or maybe even 3.9 but as of now I'm very comfortable with the load. It shoots very flat and there is virtually no recoil/fireballs/anything wonky (scientific term there). In regards to the bullets I'm using, I was using 180 GR bayous before and met a local fellow a while back who makes these 200's. This test run was from a sample pack that he sent me and needless to say I'm very impressed with the quality of the bullets!! Consistent sizing and the coating is great! They also punch a nice hole [emoji4] I know he's on the forums, so I'll have to direct him to this post as he has some load info for 200gr bullets as well. Hope this helps!!
  5. I just finished building my second one today, it's by far the best route to go in my opinion (mainly because I'm a tinkerer) I'd suggest the Phoenix Trinity grip if you're okay with the wait time, I waited about a month for the super aggressive stainless steel one and man is it awesome! That aside, I'd suggest the CK arms frames, they're the same ones made by freedom gunlocks and they've got a different metal that is less prone to cracking (at least that's what I've read). Slides can be had from speed shooters or shooters connection. I like the CK arms ones personally. As for barrel, I highly suggest the Kart EZ fit barrel. Get the barrel fitting kit and possibly a few different bushing cause the one I got from them definitely didn't work. Aside from that, I'd recommend getting the Jerry Kuhnhausen books if you don't have them already. They are a fountain of information and by far the best reference for if (or when) shit hits the fan. Go slow and always measure everything multiple times. Remember you can always take more off, it's not necessarily easier to put more on.
  6. I should have mentioned that I am building this up and have not adjusted anything trigger wise. But I did check the trigger for over travel and it wasn't pinning everything together. From the looks of it, I believe that the spring is holding the disconnector up so I may need to pull it out and file the edge of it down so that the contact angles agree better. Thoughts?
  7. I just installed the extreme service ignition set and it works great whenever you rack the slide, but when I hold in on the trigger and attempt to rack the slide it absolutely will not budge. Is this an issue with the disconnector? Has anyone dealt with this in the past? If so, how did you resolve it? Thank you!
  8. I blasted the finish off of my M&P 9 a while back and it was pretty interesting. It's hard to see in the pictures, but there is somewhat a damascus look to it after the coating was off. When I was done I cleaned all the crap out of it and left it to soak in a bag of of oil for a few days then cleaned it up and wiped it down with a silicone cloth. I never had any problems with it rusting when I used it as my production gun, it's recently been coated back to black so I can get it ready to sell. I also took my .40L slide to the surface grinder and slimmed it up a bit/gave it some different serrations/made it look like one of those fancy sig equinox type things. All of that being said, here are the pictures you were asking for! 40L Slide work
  9. I think this is the cut you are looking to achieve?
  10. What style/type of glasses do the Pivothead glasses feel like? They look similar to the Oakley gascan sunglasses
