  1. Thanks for the video. First time I've seen it and now it'll be in my "add to favorites". Thanks again
  2. I recently started shooting lead and also recently learned that lead gets the gun uber dirty. I got frustrated with it and ended up standing the barrle upright in the bottle of hopps #9 and dragged up some cleaner and let her soak for a few minutes. She came out clean!!!
  3. Welcome to the site. If you want to do some learning then you found the right spot. Almost every question I've had I've found already being talked about at one time or another. And if you can't find it just ask. No one will shoot ya down. I think you'll enjoy the site. Welcome again
  4. I have a set of Oakley's and ESS. I like them both honestly. But I do prefer the yellow tinted lense. It makes my front sight stand out well and for work I can see all the way down to the 300 clearly. Only down fall is the sun. Doesn't do much to block out the sun. Your best bet is to try on a few pairs and look down your sights.
  5. Thanks hi-power jack. Slowing down has been my goal these last few days. Just got back from the range and made sure I didn't pack the timer. I had to remind myself that I very well can shot out the center of a target once I slow down and take a breath
  6. I can't say I've done gone on the brass hunt in the park or down the street. But I can sure tell you that practice days at the range, more then just my lane gets swept up and dumped into the brass bag
  7. Welcome. I started with a g17. I moved over to shooting limited but still got all my old flock gear for any of my friends that what to give uspsa a try. They so far have all become hooked once they try it.
  8. Sti edge in .40. Right now my reloads are 155 grain semi wad cutter bullets with 6 grains of win 231. So I should be at about 170pf
  9. Yea I have a few full size hanging around the house now that I got from a friend.
  10. I enjoy .40. 9mm is just a pain to always make sure my reloads are major PF. I'd say go .40.
  11. Welcome. This is bar far my most enjoyable hobby. Best fun around.
  12. The incredible Burt wonderstone. The girl friend just haaaaaaad to see it. Turns out I still don't like that kind of comedy. But we did walk into sweet G.I. Joe!!!
  13. Hmmm... Sounds like a worthy investment. Thanks for the idea
  14. Well thanks for at least clearing the air. It could have come across upsetting. But, no, they aren't excuses. There's just other things that have been in the mix also. Work, school, and gym just to work. If I could I'd shoot three or four times a week but I simply can't. And the dry fire space... Well u have to get a smaller town house when you have to pay an exwife to live her life.
  15. Yes I saw that you got to shoot a lot of uspsa. I wish I could. They just don't have to many matches around me that I can make every time. Thank you for the title of the book though and ill look into the other as well
  16. The right side mag release, how much "getting used to" did that take???
  17. Alright. Ill give her a shot. Thanks guys for all the help and advice
  18. I've heard of a lot of people tellin me to get his book. I just haven't ordered it yet. It always seems to be one of those thing I forget to add to the cart when placing a order. Which book exactly is it. I need a couple things and this time IT WILL go into the cart. A buddy of mine and I always go shoot together and he's always two to five places ahead of me. I'm tired of it. He will be classified in a couple of months so It'll be a race for him and I to C
  19. Yea. I tell myself every match to "slow down and make sure the sights are lined up and squeeze." But then I hear the buzzer and I loose focus. My first stage is always the worst because nine times out of ten its the first time I've fired in a month and I'm just excited I get to shoot again. When the results came out and I saw how many mikes I got I was pretty upset.
  20. Aren't... Auto correct replaced it with "army". Oops
  21. I wouldn't say I'm slow but I'm far from fast. My times are about middle of the pack. My last scroes were majority A's and C's. but I did have 11 M's. I'd say its safe to say I have a tendency to shoot faster then my skill set allows. My controlled pairs/double taps, whatever you best call it, army spot on. I believe that's where a lot of my C's come from. I don't know if that helps best describe me or not
  22. I agree. I know my lack of ability to get range time really hurts me. And I understand that although dry fires will help, only shooting will improve my second shot after recoil. I've looked into a few local matchs around town to at least get some sort of trigger time more often. I used to shoot idpa but stopped once I got my sti bc they don't approve of the full length dust cover. But since its not a sanctioned match here I may make a few phone calls to see if they can squeeze me in and just toss my score card
  23. Well yea, lets face it. Normally the classifiers aren't that fun haha. It's one of them check the block to move on to a better stage. My goal was to get better in general.
  24. I didn't see the practicality of the FTS. You would think you would loose time monkeying with the magnification. But like I said I haven't used one or looked into it to deep yet
