  1. IN THE OKC AREA WE CAN GET SOME LOADED AMMO, 5.56,9MM,40 AND SOME RF. 1 BOX PER DAY PER CALIBER. ITS A GOOD THING, BECAUSE IF IT WAS`NT WE WOULD HAVE NOTHING SAME WITH PRIMERS 500 A DAY, NO S R LEFT I HAVE SEEN THE SAME BRANDS ON ARMSLIST FOR BIG MARK UP I BET MOST PEOPLE BUYING DON`T EVEN SHOOT. JUST GREEDY!!!
  2. It's a must for most auto loaders , I have used it for many years, when the buck mark 22 came out the 80's it's was recommend, it will last approximate 100 rounds. The hornady l n l ap Press is required clean and lube evey part befor using, even inside the powder dispenser. I use it just too clean my sti edge, but use pf10 too lube it.
  3. For the most part most of the calibers we shoot Today have been around for many years , there are dozens of old type powders (not old and deteriorated) that will still perform. I know I have my go to favorites. But I have been shooting competition for over 30 + Years. Don't think that you can't win and have fun Without the varget or other first choice propellants And components you are use too. A little research With some out dated load manuals. And you might get too shoot and have fun untill it turns around. Just a suggestion!
  4. I neck size with the redding com dies, and only size about half the neck, if I feel any chambering Resistance I use the redding body sizer die. I use lapua brass, I have never lost a case to cracks,The tighter the brass fits your chamber The longer it last. And has tighter groups. It just what's work's for me. And I have used the Dillion and hornady ap with this methods.
  5. Ben is dead on, case prep is important. Not just for accuracy, for dependability. A case failure and your most likely your out. Not saying that it can't happend to if you Use precision technics.
  6. I have seen this many times, it looks like a headspace problem. Headspace can be over come by firing forming, it's tricky I suggest you Invest in a go, no go gauge first too confirm the Problem, see if someone a set you can borrow, Check with local gunsmith. If it is research firing forming first, and then neck size only. Just a suggestion
  7. Bullet jump is a safety device for the gun manufacture, with that much free bore the pressures can be kept within a normal c u p Pressure. A benchrest rifle is set up with little or no jump, but the powder charge is cut back several grains, it's best too load by the recommend spec. For safety reason's.
  8. Idaho falls is a beautiful little town, Ihmsa had there international championships several years I went to all of them. We ate at smittys evey day. Have also shot the local range. Volcano range???
  9. For the money, the ruger mark series comes blue or stainless and will function flawless with high Velocity ammo. Mine likes super x. But won't work with standard velocity. I suggest you buy Hornady dry lube and cleaner, too keep the action Working smooth.
  10. Redding neck die is sold seperate, but the bushing is the way too go. Use the nitride bushing and never lube again They are expensive, but they are several tricks you can do. You can size several calibers by just Buying the correct bushing, like 6x223,6.5x223, ect, ect just a suggestion. And I think you can remove the decamping pin???
  11. Boxer is correct on the crimp, but the biggest problem if you crimp? and you have some too long, you will build extreme pressure because your crimp being too heavy! And little or no crimp On others, you put undue stress on the weapon and especially the brass.. If gets a lot too long the action might not lock up, or jam the brass in the rifling resulting in extreme pressure. Having a case a few k's under in my opinion is safer.
  12. Gun powder is like car brands, it's what you like. We are going to have to face the problem of What's left to choose from. Use what every you can come up with. There are dozens of different Powders out there that will perform. Find a old reloading Manuel find a powder that's on some store shelf. Buy a Pound experiment, in most cases the same powder will work for several calibers..... Just a suggestion
  13. Have you run a 5 shot string with the same powder charge, that the most important spec. If you can keep your extreme spread within 50 fps It's a good load. Velocities are a point of deminishing Return. As long as the weapon functions flawless and groups, a 100 fps + or - Will not be an issue. Just my opinion
  14. O A L is the least important spec too worry about, just about all bullet will vary if you measure On the tip of the bullet, pistol bullets are the worst usually because the ogive is so short. The hornady L N L case length gauge measures At the ogive, it's just almost perfect every time, And is perfect on rifle bullets. ..... Just my opinion On this!
  15. If I understand your question? If you get the mic type seating die and record the number for each? It won't work! You have too recheck o a l Every time, it will wont be perfect. You will have to tweek it.I have used the redding com dies for many years. As is the redding com powder thrower. The only advantage is it gives you a starting point.
  16. Hi,if you are using bolt action rifles, and you can keep the brass seperated for each caliper, try the redding nitride bushing neck dies. No lube needed. It will speed your reload. I have loaded many thousands of rounds that way from 6mm BR too 308. And I only resize about half the of the neck. Old Indian trick. Just a suggestion
  17. That kinda ironic don't you think Sooner Road, perfect name for a okie, thanks Jackie
