  1. Barnhart still sells them on his website. Depending on your hand size I'm sure they will help but I don't think they are the answer for large hands. Jerry responded to my email and I'm sure he will be happy to answer any of your questions.
  2. Hi brent, They are as close to a 2011 as I can imagine. I have a few 2011 Limited guns and now my 1911 feels the same.
  3. I purchased the 773 mag pouches for single stack. They are extremely tight and it is very difficult to remove mags. The problem is the bottom half of the pouch. I have tried loosening the screws without success. I hope someone has a fix for this problem. Thanks.
  4. I've received a few PM asking for pictures. Here are a couple.
  5. Just finished installing and shooting my first match with the Perman large grip. I installed these on a Dan Wesson Heritage and could not be happier. Fitting took about 2 hours and the gun now fits perfectly. If anyone is looking for a 2011 grip on their 1911 this is the way to go! Thanks Forum members.
  6. I've had 3 of these break. I attribute these failures to using the EGW Undersized dies. These dies work great but the powder drop and belling die requires a very large force on the upstroke. I started using case lube and that has helped significantly.
  7. A friend and I were debating whether you got a tighter gun from most serial manufactures if you purchased the gun in hard chrome vs. standard factory finish. My vote based on only one example is yes. I'd love to know what forum members think about this.
  8. There might be less risk getting it hard chromed from the original builder before you take possession. If there is a problem it may be easier to resolve.
  9. Thanks everyone. I'll investigate all the possibilities and report back.
  10. I have pretty large hands. A 2011 is small and just this week I decided to shoot some single stack. Can anybody recommend some good grips for shooters with a large hand? Thanks.
  11. I think you'll find your time will effect your ability to compete more than your minor point deductions. Unless your competing to win matches it's about having fun, improving and being safe.
  12. I had a new 6" Cameron that would not take long loads. I had to have the lead ring cut deeper. As you work up your load make sure it is not bumping up against the lans. Before I had the lead ring recut I loaded to 1.150 after I loaded to 1.185.
  13. Thanks Tim. I'll try that and post anything I find useful. It may help someone else.
  14. My left hand has suffered serious trama. My idex finger will not flex and the remaining fingers have reduced strength. Today I shot steel in 15 degree weather with a glove on my left hand. Remarkably this helped firm up my grip. Has any else faced a similar problem or does anyone else wear a glove on one hand?
  15. Hi Bruce, I've been Bayou with 231 and Wst all season. In fact thats what I shot during your class. Withclose to 30,000 rounds I've seen no leading. Let me know if you want to try some and I'll meet you.
  16. You take some masking tape or duct tape and build up around the ramp. That's the easiest and quickest way I know to contain primers.
  17. The new shotmaxx from Double Alpha may be able to slave to a stage start signal by the New Year. They told me they are working on it and when it is finished older models can update their software. I've used the CED7000 and the Competition Pocket Pro 2 with great reliability and ease of use.
  18. I tried the roller cam follower as well. It worked well but the alignment needs to be maintained. I used some blue loctite as it became easily misaligned.
  19. There is a gentleman selling a smaller diameter spring and phenoic ball to reduce the spill from shellplate jump. I purchased it and use it with success. I have a 650 at Dillon for an overhaul and will try 9 major when it returns next week. My other machine is setup for 40 and this product smooths out the action. While Dillons product service and support are top notch there are many problems that anyone who has operated a 550 or 650 is familiar with. Are spent primers really supposed to end up all over the bench and floor. Certainly Dillon must be aware of this problem. Gary is correct.
  20. I received an email from DAA that they were back in stock. I asked if the timer would start when the alert to start a stage sounded. This feature is being worked on and the software is updateable.
  21. There is an aftermarket thrust bearing kit that has been available on XBAY for a long time. It is very inexpensive. I tried it without much improvement but you may have better luck.
  22. Happy Thanksgiving to all .And to our Military Serving all over the world. God Bless.
