  1. So you just joined BE forums and your first post is to criticize our product which you have never tried nor experienced our warranty process? I am sure there is no ulterior motive there at all! Good luck in the shooting sports.
  2. The choice of 6 vs 8 MOA is a personal one. We sell about 40 % 6 MOA to 60 % 8 MOA. The higher level competitors often seem to chose the 6 MOA as they perceive an advantage in accuracy for long range difficult shots without losing effectiveness in the bright sun. This also stems from the sliderides many of them ran in 6 MOA so they are used to that dot size. Personally, being a lonely Master class shooter, I like the 8 MOA as I feel I can easily make any shot I have ever seen in a match and the little extra dot brightness is appreciated in AZ where I often shoot under the desert sun. You will not go wrong with either.
  3. Great. You can order here: http://fasttoys.net/shop/FTP-Optics-Alpha-3-Red-Dot-Reflex-Sight/ I personally like the 8 MOA as it is a little brighter than the 6 for shooting under the desert sun. We will have the 8 MOA's back in stock in 7-10 days. The 6 MOA's are in stock and ready to ship :)
  4. The versions were to correct the shutting off issue and have nothing to do with brightness. The Alpha 3 will be brighter than the RTS2.
  5. I am not sure why but no OEM manufacturer seems to want to include optic plates for the RTS2/Romeo 3/FTP pattern. Good thing the aftermarket addresses it.
  6. 8 MOA optics have shipped from Japan and we should have them in 7-10 days :)

  8. You REALLY need to understand hit factor scoring and the match and your abilities to decide if it's worth it for you.
  9. 8 MOA's will be back in stock 3rd - 4th week of March

  11. 147's with 3N38 shoot so soft you would swear they are minor. You can also make major with 147 and 3N38 without exceeding SAAMI specs for 9mm. That is the only major load I am aware of that can do that. The downside is the slide does feel "slightly" more sluggish when compared to the 121's I normally shoot. If I spent the time to get used to 147's or hadn't shot the 121's before, I would probably be happy with the 147's. Open is really about learning and managing the cadence of the gun so you don't want to be changing loads all the time either.
  12. Here is the link to our open gun mount. It will if the FTP Optics, Sig Max and RTS2 with no modifications required. http://fasttoys.net/shop/FTP-Optics-Alpha-2-3-RTS2-Sig-Max-Optics-Mount/ If you don't have a blast shield, you can also use any RTS-2 mount. If you want to keep the blast shield on your RTS-2 mount, you will have to clearance it.
  13. He purchased a 6 MOA as he wanted to directly compare to the other dots he had reviewed. This was a completely unbiased review. He also paid for the optic.
  14. We just found out The Humble Marksman did a review on the Alpha 3. Check it out:

  16. Is it just me or do the new gen 2 springs feel way too soft? There seems to be very little spring tension.
  17. Recently I had to switch to my backup gun that has an Alpha 2 (same size window as RTS-2) from my usual FTP Optics Alpha 3 I can’t believe how much harder it was to find and track the dot! You take it for granted but you usually find and track the dot in the upper portion of the glass and the FTP Alpha 3 glass size and shape make it so much easier!
  18. I think you are going to find your best bet is the old sharp screwdriver and scraping method. Any chemicals powerful enough to attack the build up in the comp are also going to attack the loctite and possibly the comp and barrel itself. It is far easier to keep the comp clean than waiting for a huge buildup. When I had removable comp (Czechmate), I would use hydrogen peroxide and vinegar and will soften the buildup but the off gas from that solution is probably not advisable to breathe!

  20. If you are talking about the slide ride, they often crack on the side where the lock screws are. Once that happens, the adjustment screws will turn as you shoot. Mark them with paint to see if that is happening. If it is, you need you send it back to CMORE to have a new body put on. That is the main reason many people run the aluminum slide ride as it doesn't suffer from that problem..
  21. You can make major of course but not with preferred slower burning powders like 3N38 for example. I started with Autocomp and it is a good powder but 3N38 works the comp so much better.
  22. There is one that is not spoken for coming in with our March shipment. If you want it, give us a call.
  23. I have a few people ask how the Alpha 3 compares to the SRO. Here is a quick summary: SRO Window is round/egg shaped and measures 0.98 x 0.89 inches SRO weighs 1.6 ounces SRO features 8 brightness levels with 3-8 for daylight use and 1-2 for night vision gear Battery = CR2032 with top loading battery Dot Sizes = 1, 2.5 or 5 MOA dot Motion sensor = not available Footprint for mount = Same as RMR Warranty = 5 years from date of manufacture Retail Price = $ 749.00 FTP Optics Alpha 3 Window is tombstone shaped with window measuring 1.02 x .85 inches FTP Alpha 3 weighs 1.46 ounces FTP Alpha 3 features ten illumination levels optimized for daylight use Battery = CR2032 with side loading battery tray Dot Sizes = 6 or 8 MOA dot Motion sensor = Yes. Dot will turn off after period of inactivity and then turn back on at same illumination level when motion it detected Footprint for mount = Same as RTS-2 and Sig Max (please note RTS-2 mounts with blast shield will need to be clearanced) Warranty = 30 months from date of purchase Retail Price = $ 379.00 with free shipping While the SRO is a good sight, it is not optimized for competition use. The dot sizes are much smaller and not ideal for pistol shooting in bright sunlight. Illumination levels are wasted to accommodate operators with night vision settings. The FTP dot is brighter at peak illumination levels and offers more illumination levels. The bezel of the lens on the SRO is thick and will add more protection if dropped but obscures the target more as a compromise. The glass is egg/round shaped while the FTP version is optimized to track the dot under recoil in the upper portion of the lens. The dot sizes on the SRO are not optimal for pistol competition shooting. The SRO is heavier and the price point is much higher. The FTP Optic has a motion sensor to extend battery and diode life while the SRO does not. I hope that helps!
