  1. My friend has a .40 schueman barrel and has no issues.
  2. The mbx mags with kkm barrels is the issue if that is what you have. Not reloads. This is a known issue as the mbx mas come up a little higher in the front vs sti. I have a ton of comparison pictures of different barrels, mags, and guns. You will have to take some off the top of the mag or some off the bottom of the barrel feed ramp. Other than that, MBX mags are awesome and I'm glad MBX is replacing mine with ones that will work. If you are having this issue, I would suggest contacting MBX For resolution.
  3. I have this issue as well. I found the bottom of the barrel was hitting the front of the mag, creating a ding. The bullets are getting caught on that ding. I talk to Adrian and he said that it seems to be an issue with kkm barrels being a little longer. Adrian is replacing my mags. Another person I was shooting with had the same issue and is running the same barrel, but he took a little off the bottom of his fead ramp to correct it. I'm not brave enough to do that.
  4. I don't thonk any are out there. I think freedom gunworks sells them for a little cheaper, but don't quote me on that.
  5. I'm curious if anyone has or has tried the EvoShield EvoScopes Sunglasses? They look like they might work well for shooting, but I'm curious how they compare to other stuff out there for contrast on the target and front sight. http://www.amazon.com/EvoShield-244800-048-OSFM-EvoScopes-Sunglasses/dp/B00MHTEX78
  6. I run 200grn bbi. Im running n320 and wst at 1.80 oal. They run great for me and wst usually doesn't take long to get in stock. I'm switching off n320. It's just too damn expensive.
  7. So, I'm looking at upgrading from a 550b to a xl650. I have a few add-ons like the roller handle, bullet tray, strong mount with bench wrenches, and eXtra toil head with powner measure. I was wondering what can move to the 650 and will all the dies go to the 650 as well? I plan to sell the 550 to help pay for the 650.
  8. If OP shoots locals, then he'll be shooting PGC matches and Chester is the club president. Welcome to Summerville. If you have any questions about local matches, Feel free to ask. Robert Thornton and I are the match directors for USPSA and Zack is the steel challenge match director. http://charlestonuspsa.com/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/375395210396/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/313239683062/
  9. Bob doesn't sell them as drop in. He says they are close to drop in and for best results take it to a smith. Bod does work to the group which he states in the write up and Brazos doesn't just drop them in the bag, for sure. For me, the kit dropped in at 2.25lbs and I only had to fit the safety. Nothing in a 1911/2011 is 100% "drop in" but the Brazos kit was damn close. I've fit quit a few safeties, so that wasn't an issue for me.
  10. My brazos tuned trigger group was dropped in at 2.25lbs and I love it. I did have to fit the thumb safety. http://www.1911store.com/tunedtriggergroupbcg-proseries.aspx
  11. Actually I use Standard polishing wheel on a bench grinder with white polishing compound. 5-10 min on an untouched mag body, gives me a mirror (our close) finish.
  12. Give me your mags Wally, I'll polish them. Takes about 5-10 min each mag with my wheel.
  13. Area 6 had 397 shooters and 12 stages and the half days worked great. Maybe I'm getting messed up. I'm not including the staff days.
  14. Getting DQ'd is a lot like laying down a motorcycle for the first time. You got to get right back on it and go or you'll never be the same.
  15. Stage designer slip up. He should have stated that you had to remain tethered for the entire COF. The stage is legal for sure. You don't have to like it, but I often use props in my stages to get people to shot OH/MH. I once stated that a cat carrier be moved from point a to point b without throwing it. I saw people doing all kinds of stuff like putting it down to shot, shooting with it bracing the SH, and shooting everything and then grabbing it. The higher HFs were simply shooting it MHO. It makes people think. The stage in the OP forced more than MHO, it was also an awkward body position and strange movements. This was a good one from 2013 GA state where you where handcuffed to a table.
  16. +1 The intent of the rules is to not brace shooting arm with anything when doing SH/WH only shooting. Everything else is far game.
  17. Area 6 did half day format. 10 stages in 3 days would drag the match out too long in my opinion. 10 stages in 2 days would be an easy half day format.
  18. 4.7 N320 1.180 oal 180gr .400 BBI makes 171pf in my edge. Mixed brass. You shouldn't have to throat it with that, but it helps.
  19. I use the EGW U-die and have never had a bulge issue.
  20. Does anybody have these pictures. I have searched the heck out of this and just can't find how to do it. Wondering the same
  21. Hey guys, I have a gun going to be built soon. I have questions about breaking a gun in "in the raw" prior to finish. Is there any real benefit to this and is there any special care that is needed to an unfinished gun? Currently my idea is to go with a cheaper finish until the gun is good and broken in, then refinish it in hard chrome. My thought is that breaking in a raw gun is going to require another break in period after finishing. Thanks in advance.
