  1. Thanks, it is very interesting to see the breakdown compared to the division breakdown. Ie the proximity to the next level is potentially closer than the size of the window itself. The GM's for example are the top 5% but make up only 1.6% of actual shooters in limited. Gives some perspective on how good the elite really are
  2. I decided I just wanted more flexibility that what I felt the others offered. With about 10.00 in aluminum and some taps I can adjust height, angle and cant of the gun to any position I want. The belt attachment of the DOH just couldn't do what I wanted without a ton of flex, now it's rigid and actually hangs on the belt without digging into my leg. If you're not afraid to make things yourself, give it a go or PM me and I'll help as much as I can.
  3. I'm also very curious what Limited looks like. Thanks for taking this on!
  4. I would say it's "standard" STI height but the thumb guard is obviously very high. I didn't really notice a change in height but the size of the rest is substantially bigger as it's designed to be trimmed to your preference
  5. Before and after the recent weight loss program, this is now about the perfect balance with the PT grip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I assume you wanted to be added in Limited? If that's the case, then you are added. Yes limited thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Mentality, consistency, and speed are the things separating you, me, "us", from B, A, and beyond. Practice, drive, and effort WILL make you improve and move to B, complacency will keep you here forever. Being a C shooter is not a definition of WHAT you are, but merely WHERE you are today. Each classification is a stepping stone that gets progressively further and further away, it's up to us to decide if we are comfortable where we are or decide we're going to do what it takes to jump to the next one. B Class seems to be where most people decide they are comfortable, they get off the train and forget all about improving. A lot of people say things like, I JUST want to make B,A,M, etc. if you were to ask almost any GM, Pro player, or someone at the elite/upper level of anything, this mentality is totally foreign to them. They set goals, when they get NEAR achieving them they've already mentally moved on to the next goal without even pausing to think about the achievement. In this sport, climbing a mountain doesn't get you to the top of anything, all it does is give you a better view of all the higher mountains left to climb.
  8. If you're shooting well in matches but not classifiers it's because your either, trying or thinking. You can't do either consistently enough to put together 6-8 different classifiers in a row trying to shoot above your level. Sure everyone can go hero or zero occasionally but not consistently enough to get bumped up. Just shooting them within your current skillset will likely yield much better scores that trying. When you shoot with a GM and they kill it, they're not trying to do anything, their comfortable shooting pace is just that much better than ours. Another way to look at it is no MLB player consistently tries to hit home runs, they think make solid contact and it just happens. You can tell when they try because they end up walking back to the dugout after just striking out Please add me as well A85028 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Video of myself, all the little mistakes are much easier to see and identify when you watch yourself vs your memory of your last run. Work on the lowest hanging fruit from a time wasting perspective and identify how you can do things sooner. Oh and learning to actually watch my sight, that's been helpful as well
  10. I tried shims, wedges, and extended screws to get the angle right. It ended up having a lot of flex which I wasn't happy with so I made this instead with simple hand tools. So far it's been great and super comfortable due to the rigidity of it.
  11. It's heavy, soft shooting, and feels great, it's in the shop this week getting tri topped and lightened just to speed up the slide a little, I think after that it will be about the perfect weight and balance
  12. Personally, I went aggressive, all the research I did, no one ever say they thought the aggressive was too rough but several said they would go to the aggressive if they did it again. When it first arrived, I was holy s#$^ that's some texture. At matches when people feel it they think it is really aggressive as well. The funny thing is once you've held it for about 10 minutes or a little bit of shooting it doesn't feel aggressive at all. You can also knock down the aggressive very easily with 600 grit paper if you have some "sticky" spots, it would be impossible for the average person to add texture back to it. I don't think you can go wrong either way but you have more options should you want in the future with the aggressive. You will love either choice
  13. Sorry for the confusion, I'm a knucklehead This is one, same thing but in 2011 width http://www.speedshooter.com/product_detail.cfm?id=SVITT&n=SVI-Trigger-Base-Titanium-Bow-Hi-Cap--Silver If you go to SVI you can see they have the Triglide and the regular hi cap trigger and a writeup about the differences in them. They show the triglide as a "system" with disconnect and sear spring. There is a little ball on the triglide that is different than the "regular" one
  14. I can only tell you my experience but I didn't use the triglide. I used the standard "new" one without the little bearing for the triglide. I think that one works fine as well but you may want to change the disconnect and sear spring to the triglide system. Here's the one I ordered. http://www.speedshooter.com/product_detail.cfm?id=SVITT1911&n=SVI-Trigger-Base-Titanium-Bow-1911--Silver The standard STI/1911 grip safety is what this was designed for and what I used. I also used the STI plastic mainspring housing but any other MSH should be fine but could require a little fitting. If you have a metal MSH in a plastic grip it may not have required fitting due to the flex allowed with the plastic grip. With the steel grip it may be a little oversized and just need a touch of filing to get it perfect. The mag release fits fine however due to the subtle change in angle of the grip on the right side you may find the little edge that sticks out to be sharp so you'll want to file that off. Again, super simple just some sandpaper, dremel, or file will do just take it out of the grip file a little and test it until it sits how you want. It will function fine when you drop it in. I had the STI stainless magwell which required a slight radius on the back half of the grip. It comes completely square so if you compare it with a plastic one it is easy to see what needs to happen, just go slow. I don't have experience with other magwells but I don't think they need as much done as the STI due to the differing designs.
  15. I haven't seen them fluctuate but understand the price change. There is free shipping through aug, so consider the 5.00 increase the shipping fee and order a bunch! I've previously asked about price breaks and they didn't offer them to the public. I appreciate this because I am getting them still cheaper in smaller qty than I would with others even in very large orders

  17. it is very nice shooting from the work I have done with it. Published data was really low for me and not even in the ball park. I would use a chrono to develop the load for the gun. (I know, I hate that answer too)
  18. Adhust the pawls and put a lock washer on the shell plate! The LNL is a workhorse after those two things Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Letting mags being loaded to capacity starts an equipment race. it's a part of production that makes production what it is. Mag round count levels production from a time perspective, if you go to 15 you are "limited kind of" and in no mans land. Everyone deals with the same round count and reload issues. The bigger question is, if you want the mag change and flexibility on the outer appearance of parts, why don't you just shoot limited? a magwell is about the only different once you make all the changes. I think production optics should be an option but should not be a part of the "competitive" group or make it a competition race. I say if someone new to the game wants to shoot production optics, go for it! If you want to win nationals with optics.... you are an open shooter gaming production
  20. * asterisk for PO let people decide how they compare
  21. Ya, so if someone was really after a smaller grip they could get the aggressive and file off all the high points and end up with a smaller grip if they so choose. It would be a shame though to get rid of such an awesome piece of machining and I don't think it would really change the feel much after you add grip tape back on it. (Your black on stainless is pretty sweet by the way!)
  22. I know, but it's hard to argue that open minor isn't a clear disadvantage, whereas for me personally a dot on a production gun is not an advantage
  23. At this point if I jumped in and shot production I would not grab the red dot but I would rather shoot a different glock because for me on a gun without a comp it is slower than irons. I also think there are a lot of aging shooters that would prefer a dot but struggle with irons because they don't want to deal with blast from a major comped gun so they are kind of stuck and will be done with the game when they can no longer focus on a front sight
  24. I started Uspsa not long ago and was pumped I had a G19 with RMR and threaded barrel and had under cut the trigger guard. I met a couple local guys that said to come out and give it a try, they said read the rule book and come out to a safety brief and you're good to go. I read the whole book and was like WTF division can I even shoot this gun? Sure I had other guns but have been shooting that one the most at the time and was comfortable with it. Deciding open was my only choice I youtubed some open videos and it was not very comforting knowing I was going to be shooting this production gun with a red dot against these guys. Would I have had an advantage? Would having a production optic division available be a better introduction to the sport? For me, ya at the time but I would have still ended up in limited where I am now
  25. Let's just put an asterisk by their name in match results!
