  1. I removed the factory waffling on my TS. I used a file and varying grits of sandpaper with a hard backer. Didn't have the balls to try checkering it by hand for the first time. I sent it off for Cerakote and use grip tape on the front and back strap.
  2. Never thought of using one. I just pick up what I find. As to the post about .22 LR casings, don't forget that you can scrap brass. I don't seek out .22 LR casings, but if they're around a case I'm picking up, I'll grab them. They go in the scrap bucket. Scrap brass is almost $2/lb.
  3. I got a jogging stroller and put Kolpin gun mounts on both sides. Works well. I would look for a jogging stroller with a front wheel that swivels like a caster. Mine doesn't swivel and has done fine but I would think a swiveling front wheel would be much better.
  4. Yep. Bought a few to stock up some more last week. They're OOS at my local store now but they're coming in regularly.
  5. I got .857". Same width from the mag catch holes all the way down to the baseplate. Don't have any 75 mags to measure to compare. Edited to add I was measuring P-09 mags.
  6. You can buy separately and pin yourself. Just can't put the unpinned 14.5" upper on a lower without a NFA stamp. Don't put it on the lower, no problems.
  7. To follow up on this thread, I ordered a Fort Knox pistol safe. I've had it for a couple weeks and really like it. It's heavy, well made and will fill my needs well. The combination was easy to change from the factory default setting. My only wish is that the top of it raised up easier. The gas strut helps, but I wish after giving it a slight lift it would go on up on its own. Now, I have to lift the top 3/4 the way up before the strut takes over the opening duty. I'm sure the intention is just to have the gas strut hold it open, but I'm going to see if I can rig up a spring on the strut to help open the top. Maybe a spare recoil spring cut down a bit or something. Going to play with it and see if I can add a spring. Overall construction and design is very good. It's a purchase I don't regret.
  8. Sounds like a pistol safe would benefit you. I bought a Fort Knox pistol safe at the suggestions of guys here. Very pleased with it.
  9. Can somebody explain what this is about? I assume something to comply with CA laws.
  10. I agree! I've placed several orders from CGW and CZC. Both David and Stuart have helped me out before with various things. From dealings with them and reading posts on here and other forums, my perception is that they are very focused on helping the CZ community. I don't really see them only pushing their products but helping out with CZs in general both troubleshooting and modifications whether dealing with their parts or not. They're great resources and assets.
  11. Here's my limited gun with some tasteful color from Scalpel Arms. Now has a strip of grip tape on the front and rear strap.
  12. Yeah, I plan on putting a strip of grip tape on both the front and rear straps. I was going to checker it and chickened out. Didn't think this pistol would be a good first checkering project.
  13. It's a .40 caliber TS. Haven't shot it with those grips yet.
  14. I did. Thanks for the compliments.
  15. I tried to use the CGW pin on my TS but it looked like it would walk out. On a standard 75 the trigger return spring is on the trigger pin, the spring coils sit in the narrow center section of the CGW pin and that is what keeps it from walking out. On the TS the trigger return spring is on the trigger bar bin, there isn't a spring on the trigger pin to hold it in. I never shot my TS with the CGW pin because I could easily push it out by hand. Guess I'll find out if it will walk out or not. Will get a spare factory pin with my next order of small parts just in case.
  16. I am using the CGW floating trigger pin. I just put it in when I reassembled it. I wasn't aware that anything should hold it in. Will it walk out? I was using the factory pin previously. I should have had an aluminum trigger but FedEx lost the package a month ago and CZ was going to sent me another but they're backordered now.
  17. I'm not at all good at photography. But, I got my Tactical Sport back from Scalpel arms this week and got it reassembled today. I should have ordered some black grip screws. Had to spray paint the original ones and they look like crap. I went with Tungsten and Armor Black controls and grips. I am extremely pleased with the work they did. Any defect, mark, etc in the pic is purely due to my lack of photography skills.

    P-09 Trigger Work

Thank you! It was amazing to feel the difference that the 13# mainspring made. HUGE difference. I'm certainly not wanting to get this to a trigger like my TS, but smoother would be nice. Going to push the polishing back a bit on the tinkering priority list though because I got my TS back from Cerakoting today and can't wait to reassemble it!
  19. Hope this is the right place. Looking for a bedside pistol safe for a home defense pistol. Have a 7 year old in the house that I don't think would touch unattended guns but would hate for an accident to happen so I leave all my pistols in the safe. I just won't leave them unsecured, period. I'd like to find a pistol safe I can keep bedside and quickly open shall the need arise. I've seen lots of offerings, but not sure what works well. Any suggestions?

    P-09 Trigger Work

I picked up a P-09 yesterday. Installed a CGW short reset kit and a 13# mainspring today. I didn't measure the pull before the short reset kit, but the pull before the 13# mainspring was about 9lbs in DA. The lighter spring took it to a little over 7.5lbs DA and 3.5 pounds SA. I don't want to get the pull weights down to extreme lows, but a little lighter would be nice. I think some polishing would go a long way, but I'm not sure where to polish. Can anybody guide me?

    P-09?

It's not that dark. I took a pic of a backstrap with a Magpul FDE mag. Pretty damn close. It actually looks lighter than a Magpul FDE stock and UCWRG FDE grip that I have on a rifle. Really depends on how the light is on it.

    P-09?

I just picked up my FDE P-09. Can't wait to shoot it! Have a CGW short reset kit to put in this evening.
  23. I agree, Steel Challenge is the easiest to start out in but can still be a ton of fun. Don't wait until a few months down the road. Get to a match around you soon and be safe and have fun.
  24. CCI were either $159 or $169 per 5k, can't remember. Certainly not as good as Powder Valley at $27/k, but no haz mat either.
  25. It's nothing like Gunbot, but I did find this site today and helps search for instock guns and compare prices. http://www.gunwatcher.com/
