    DANG!

Holy Cow! I've been busy doing stuff: putting together a Yule Bazaar and St. Lucia program for over 600 people, doing the Christmas thing (and nearly falling off the roof putting up the lights), you know - doing that "day to day existence" thing. I haven't had much time to look at the Enos forum. So I go to take a boo and OMG, there are 65 pages of new posts! So tell me, what ones recently are not to be missed? I seriously do not have enough time to look at 65 pages of new posts. The ones I don't want to miss are those posted by the regulars that are either 1) entertaining, 2) informative, 3) incendiary (got to read a little dirt now and again).
  2. You're joking right?! She has to have a sense of humor...remember who she marrying! All kidding aside, I truly wish you and your bride a long and loving life Jay. Now, where are the pics from the bachelor party?!
  3. I did a search on airsoft but didn't quite find the answer I was looking for. I've been thinking about getting an airsoft so my daughter can not only dry fire with me but come with me out to the range every now and again. She doesn't have much interest at the moment (karate and gymnastics are more fun) and the couple of times she has shot a .22 she didn't like the noise. But she does like running the timer when I dry fire. So I thought we could take turns and count X's. There are some full size double stack models on http://www.airsplat.com. But the grip would be too large for my 7 year old I'd imagine. Which 1911 style airsoft might work for both of our hands? Perhaps the single stacks? And which brand holds up best? What features work best (cycle, non cycle, etc)? Despite being female, I have a large grip - a glock 21 is comfortably fine to give an example.
  4. That they are. We have the other 2 (Ages 7 & 5 ) spending the night with us tonight. I wish I had 1/2 of that energy that they do. You might get a male dog for your son in law for xmas....poor guy is out numbered!
  5. I still find no humor in that Yeah but the rest of us are still laughing our a$$es off.
  6. Quantom isn't a "stand alone" film, it's a direct sequel - with the story literally taking place hours after the last scene in Casino Royale. Which is partly why it doesn't stand well on it's own in comparison. I think a summary or some sort of monologue by M in the beginning could have made the connection more clear and thus made the plot more cohesive. Flash blacks would have also helped. Because I hadn't watched Casino Royale just before seeing Quantom, some touches were too subtle to easily pick up... Like Bond not sleeping; he hadn't slept since he lost Vesper. Various character were telling him he looked tired but I didn't pick up on that until well into the scene between Bond and Mathis on the plane. I have to agree that Fields and Leiter weren't given enough screen time. But as for this grittier, less refined interpretation of Bond, I re-read the novel Casino Royale and I find this iteration to be more in sync with the written character.
  7. i'm right there with you this year. I've had two sinus infections since nationals. Try a neti pot or something similar....I actually just use a measuring cup. You use warm salt water to flush out your sinuses. The saline formula they use is a bit heavy for me. I use 1/4 teaspoon per cup of water. I'll nuke a bit of salt water and take it with me into the shower. Winter for me is always a challenge because of the heater running in the house. When the humidity drops, I'll rinse my sinuses more. BTW, gargling with cider vinegar does the same thing...it just doesn't taste as good or have the same side effect!
  8. http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm The bill that is being pushed in 18 states requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacturer and a database of all ammunition sales will be created. In other words, how much you buy and which calibers you buy will be tracked. Included in the law is a provision that no one shall be able to sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded. Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011 (including handloaded ammo). They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.
  9. Ooooh Pleeeease! Like doubling your toy budget is a bad thing! Send her to ladies camp and you'll both have a hobby to love!
  10. The folks at STI are the best to deal with. Since both their owner and a number of their gunsmiths shoot, they always look out for those of us in the IPSC/USPSA world. Their equipment is top shelf in my opinion. And if ever there is an issue, the address it quickly and to the person's satisfaction. Besides, their are Texans! What further recommendation could you want!
  11. T:SCC will be moved to Fridays....which doesn't bode well. It's ratings are lagging at the moment. Perhaps the new film will boost interest...
  12. Sylar as spock...that's pretty cool. Zachary Quinto had a bit of shaving to do on those eye brows I'm sure.

    Cancer

Hang in there Benny and be strong for her. Prayers inbound
  14. Ummmm...am I smoking rope or isn't there a federal law about carrying concealed (or otherwise) into a bank....??? You may be running into the same policy at EVERY bank in other words....
  15. Well there's a surprise! :roflol: I'd be surprised if these phrases aren't heard daily at the Z household! Joke: A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store, but couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked a stock boy, "Do these turkeys get any bigger?" The stock boy replied, "No ma'am, they're dead."
  16. Prayers sent Mike - hang in there...
  17. Bond was being chased by Quatum. They were trying to keep their guy from falling into MI6 hands. Granted he was sprung but at the cost of a mole. I didn't think it was that bad at all but could have done with a little less herky/jerky motion on the fight scenes and a little more interaction with Fields - you hardly cared about her character and it didn't seem to impact Bond much so what was the point?
  18. Jamie, we had soooo many layers on that it'd be like looking through this month's issue of Igloo Attire. The only clue that would tell you it was a group of women shooting in the cold would be the occasional matching faux cheetah mux and hat.
  19. One day in the freezing cold is enough....That's an excuse, I actually have a desk to finish building so I'll be in my garage freezing this morning....
  20. The Tao of Pooh - Benjamin Hoff While Eeyore frets and Piglet hesitates and Rabbit calculates and Owl pontificates, Pooh just is....
  21. Today we had a ladies day at the range at my shooting club. There were five lady instructors and we had over 30 students show up! And this was our "first" one! Guess we have a need to fill. We weren't sure what to expect as far as skill level, but after the safety briefing and a review of fundamentals, we divided up the shooters and headed out to the range. The starters did an awesome job and we rarely had to correct anyone for muzzle or finger. The more experienced shooters were also very good showing a good understanding of marksmanship. I am sorry I had to miss A4 this year but I wouldn't trade places....teaching this class has got me all fired up! I did a great deal of it when I lived in San Diego but haven't done it consistently here in Texas. I loved watching the ladies get so enthusiastic! We were fifteen minutes over the stop time but when I asked, everyone wanted to shoot another relay...Despite the 45 degree temperature and the 18 mph winds! I hope I inspired them as much as they inspired me. Seriously outstanding, good times! Thank you to TheGirl (and any other BE lurkers who helped teach today) !
  22. How'd I miss this thread!?!?! Congrats Sam, good job!
