  1. Mine's a G22, but here goes: Zev heavy brass magwell with large brass insert Zev Tungsten guide rod with 14lb spring Zev trigger Factory extended mag release and slide release Arredondo +5 mag extensions Dawson FO front and adjustable rear
  2. This is really something you are going to have to answer yourself. I didn't like the grip on the Gen4 and went with a Gen 3. One of my friends prefers the Gen4 grip due to having smaller hands and being able to switch the backstrap so it fits better. Main reason to me to buy the Gen4 is the reversable safety which is a must for a lefty, or if you have smaller hands. Go to a gunshop and try both out and see how they feel in your hands.
  3. I do not have a tap and die set. I had thought about doing the set screw myself, but it would cost more for me to by the tools than the part costs from GlockWorks, and I wouldn't use the tool again. If it is benificial, I will pick one up.
  4. So I was trying to help a guy in another thread. And when looking for parts for him, I came across the Zev ejector housing with overtravel stop: http://www.glockworx.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=156087&CAT=3695 For $20 I figure it may well be worth trying out. Has anyone else used one? It says it the same housing that comes with there drop in trigger kits like the Fulcrum kit. If you have used one, what are your thoughts on it?
  5. That's why these guys are awesome.
  6. And the gun porn as promised; Glock 22 Arredondo +5 extensions on all of the mags Ameriglo FO front and Adjustable rear sights .25 cent trigger job, + extra power trigger spring, 3.5lb ghost connector, titanium firing pin safety and lower power spring. (all Zev parts) Zev Brass magwell with large brass insert Zev tungston guide rod & 14lb spring Factory extended slide release Factory extended mag release (may eventually swap this out for a Zev release) Overall, very satisfied with it so far. I am not planning to do anything else for a while. I'm just gonna shoot it and get used to the way she is now, and then I'll make any decisions on other parts later. I really don't think I need much else anyways. I also want to be able to take off the magwell, swap out the guide rod, and be able to shoot Production in some of the matches that don't allow Limited guns, like the Factory Gun Classic this winter.
  7. Got an email back from them today. Was told that they are the same. They has switched suppliers a several months ago, and I got 1 that was old stock and 1 that was new stock.
  8. You might look into one of these. It lets you adjust the overtavel on a stock trigger. I may have to pick one up next payday. http://www.glockworx.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=156087&CAT=3695
  9. Get it Duracoated. There is a guy at my club that has a Glock 34 with the slide and magwell duracoated red. Looks pretty sweet.
  10. I'm thinking they are from a different supplier or maybe one is older stock. But I may wait till they get back from SHOT to be sure.
  11. Mine required some fitting and fiddling. But made a big difference in the long run.
  12. I got the rest of my trigger parts in today and installed them. I now have ghost 3.5lb connector, extra power trigger spring, titanium firing pin safety, and reduced power firing pin spring. And everything is all polished up. I grabbed my friends Glock which has a fulcrum trigger in it. neither of us have the upgraded striker or spring for the striker. Main difference I could tell between the 2 when taken apart is the trigger bar dimensions. That's what gives him the shorter trigger pull. Put together, his is smoother than mine, but I just can't justify the extra cost right now. Besides, there are other wizbang parts that you can get first. Like the Tungston guide rod, and brass magwell I ordered earier this week.
  13. I ordered 2 14lb recoil springs for my Glock. Both were ordered from Glockworx, both on the same order. They arrived today and I put them both in the same bag since I haven't received my tungsten guide rod yet. I noticed that they aren't the same. 1 is longer and has a larger diamiter, and at least to the naked eye, appears to be a thicker wire. And the paint on each is a different color. Did they screw up, or are they maybe from a different supplier, old stock which has been changed? I don't want to use either one without knowing. And of course, they are at SHOT so I can't get ahold of anyone till at least next week. I was hoping to use these this weekend.
  14. It sounds to me, that to get your trigger the way you want, you need a new trigger like the Fulcrum trigger. I would see if someone were you shoot has one so you can try the trigger out and make sure it'll give you what you want before you spend the coin though.
  15. Same here. Most will change to a stainless or tungsten guide rod so they can shange spring weights, change the sights, and maybe add a magwell if they are shooting limited. Not much is needed. Spend the extra cash on ammo and go shoot.
  16. Persoanally I use a Glock 22 in competition. I don't see the need to go with the Fulcrum trigger or similar. For around $40 in parts I have a super light trigger (2.5ish lbs) which works very well for me.
  17. Yup those are the Korean mags that sold for $10 a month ago.
  18. I was wondering the same. Wonder if they could do a NY complient follower that was longer maybe? Haven't seen the verbage of the bill they passed in NY yet so I'm not sure if that would pass muster there. I have only seen the tidbits of it in the news.
  19. It will never work like the Fulcrum trigger, it's just not made the same. If you want a trigger like that and want to save some coin, why not try the Zev Standard Trigger. It has the look of stock, while being a custom trigger, and costing almost 1/2 what the Fulcrum trigger does. http://www.glockworx.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=793696&CAT=3688
  20. Thanks for theinfo. Not sure it would be worth while to change barrels than. Mine shoots sub 2" groups at 25 as is with good ammo.
  21. I like the Arredondo extensions myself. They are made of Delrin, and are super easy to take off for cleaning the mags and also come with the +power extened springs. Pretty sure they all come with the same springs.
  22. I may build a 2011 in the future. Just in case, I picked up some 2011 mags right after all this crap happened, but before all the panic buying started. I figure the only thing that may be hard to get in the future is the mags. I paid normal price, so if I chnage my mind at a later date, I could just sell them. I bought "high cap" mags for several pistols I don't own yet, but want to get in the future, just in case. Went ahead and picked up a bunch of extras to so if they do manage to get a mag ban through, and I have one break, I will have a few spare. I am gonna buy a few more as I can find them to. That's oen fo the reasons I am not wanting to buy another pistol right now like a Glock 35.
  23. Magwell I got is brass, and it has a brass plug. Mainly got it and the tungston guide rod for the weight.
  24. Went to my LGS today and they had some nice sights in stock. Had them install some new sights for me. Went ahead and ordered a magwell, tungston guide rod, and 15lb recoil spring when I got home. Also picked up new springs for the trigger, titanium firing pin safety, and a lighter spring for the safety. I already have a 3.5lb ghost connector and have polished the trigger parts up. I also ordered another Arredondo mag extension. I think I'll be good to go for a while now. Parts have already shipped, should have them in time to shoot Friday. I'll post up a new pic or 2 once everything comes in.
  25. Not really having issues with mine. Was mainly wondering if it was worth doing. I know it makes a huge difference with rifles, but this is a pistol. I will probably be ordering sights and a magwell today. Selling a few things this morning to fund the build. I'll post up new pics next week or so once I get the parts in and installed. Thanks for all the replies. You guys confirmed what I was thinking.
