  1. I like that it separates those who are able to engage the targets by leaning from those who are not. I think the more variability a stage has, the more fun it is for people to shoot. Is the steel visible as you are approaching the center wall, or is the wall too high? That would throw in another interesting alternative.
  2. Actually, I think PF feels as though they got a two-for in banning our IP address. I don't think they cared for my statements related to whether or not trophies should be given for female participation.
  3. It looks like it only takes 24 replies to make a topic "hot". I feel that there should be multiple tiers of hotness.
  4. Brinell hardness is tested by indenting the metal with a metal ball (steel for softer materials, tungsten carbide for harder materials), the higher the number the harder the material. Softer bullets will lead more than harder bullets if all other factors are the same, (rifling, powder, velocity, lubricant, etc.). As a comparison lead bullet manufacture's will normally list the brinell or Saeco hardness number of their bullets in their data. Groovy. Thanks!
  5. Trust me, I'm way beyond B-Cup. Way beyond Bianchi Cup? With ALL due respect.............I doubt that. Alan~^~ If B Cup is Bianchi, what's DD Cup?
  6. ...and here I thought it was just because I was a girl! Yeah, everyone is super helpful, in all seriousness.
  7. Do you get down on your hands and knees to go prone, or do you go down from the side?
  8. So...continuing my Enos orientation, what are the contingencies to a topic becoming "hot"?
  9. M4C FTW Pistol-Forum.com is also pretty good, but since my IP is banned off that Kita wont be able to use it. Fun wrecker! How am I supposed to learn how to shoot if you keep getting my IP address banned from all the good sites?!
  10. I feel like you are overanalyzing this. Is there a need to break it down on such a fine detailed level? It sounds like the unending battle between speed vs. accuracy being dissected into such small parts that it no longer represents the whole.
  11. My buddy did the same thing in a steel match this weekend (didn't drop his mag on "show clear" and fired an AD on "hammer down" that hit the ground about 10 yards downrange). It was only his third match and he handled it great even though it bugged him. He stuck around and watched me shoot the rest of the match, talked and joked with the other competitors, and basically got over it. Another classy response to a AD/DQ. While he CLEARLY screwed up with an AD, my question is: what about the RO? It's obviously a case where both the shooter and the RO DID NOT look at the "show clear". I told my buddy, "it's your hand on the gun so it's your problem" but I'm interested in what more experienced shooters/ROs think about the role of the RO in this kind of AD. Were you his ride?
  12. Some have problems shooting lead in Glock barrels and others don't. My advice buy an aftermarket barrel that does not use the polygonial rifling that Glock uses. I water quench my 180 gr Lyman bulllet right from the mold. I get little leading using a soft lube. I use 4.6 gr of Titegroup under the bullets. I have a Tanfoglio and two M&P's in .40cal. Makes major for IPSC Standard Division. When I do get leading it is always in the first 1/16th of an inch into the rifling. The .40cal is a high pressure round and the bullets should be harder than what you would get using WW alloy. Water quenching should solve some of the problem. You want to be careful using lead in a Glock IF you are experiencing major leading. Pressures can rise quickly and you wouldn't be the first to experience a K Boom in a Glock .40. Take Care Bob I will be trying out an aftermarket barrel today!
  13. Nah...Mink and Ben have pretty good post counts there. Even some of those 1911 guys try to be cool by hanging out there. It's all about the cool. They even have a training section. *Starstruck* Hmm, there should be an emoticon for that.
  14. BigDick, do I know you from somewhere?
  15. Is Glock Talk exclusive to Glock shooters? I shoot a Glock! Heh...wanna touch Glocks? Squirrel!
  16. If it hasn't been a problem, why make it a problem? I am anit-making more work for myself, personally.
  17. So...could you re-state that in English, please? Layman's terms.
  18. I know there are a lot of shooting forums. It seems to me that this is the biggest, and the one everyone comes back to. What other informational forums are out there that you guys would recommend?
  19. Not anymore. You just posted that on the largest competition shooter website (that I know of, anyway)!
  20. So you caught my reference, then.
  21. There is a whole section (down the board a bit) for all aspects of building matches. It's a good place for appearing disorganized. (that section was added years after this one) This section is a "Shooting" section. Gotcha. There should be an Enos site orientation or something...says the girl who throws the instructions in the garbage can.
  22. Patience is a virtue for pussies.
