  1. BritinUSA, have you convinced anyone else to shoot their ProOps guns against you? sort of a grudge match?
  2. I would not use a fast powder like Titegroup. Longshot, HS6, VV3N38, something in that range will get you where you want to be safely.
  3. Four matches so far, look for TY38481 in Open/Minor: 06/28/14 07/06/14 07/12/14 07/20/14 Hopefully I will get two more matches in next weekend, and then its off to Area 3 Championship with the same gun.
  4. I have, but just barely. 8.4gr under a 115gr Xtreme @ 1.150" made 165pf in my 5.1" CZ barrel. I haven't done extensive testing with Longshot, so I can't tell you exactly where it happens, but it reaches a point where it's maxed out and velocity starts to go down as you add more powder. I suspect the same will happen with AA#7. It might be easier to make major with 124s, but they likely won't shoot as flat.
  5. Why does this new division have to come from the top down? How many of you who want this division have shot your ProOps guns in a local match? let's see the scores Talk is cheap and there is nothing stopping anyone from breaking the scores out separately and showing everyone how much interest there is in this division.
  6. I suggest you make friends with another 9 major shooter in your area and bribe him with components to teach you to load on his press.
  7. The downside would be the additional weight/length.

    CZ Open

It's an interesting theory although it opposes my experience as well as the popular comps on the market, but if you try it with one of your comps and it works out I'd try it. I was thinking more along the lines of side ports at the last port.
  9. Italian Firearms Group was a "new" importer of Tanfoglio pistols who was actually at the same address as EAA, with the same owners... Sort of a weak attempt to shead their terrible image.
  10. First welcome to the forum, second this is posted in the 1911 subforum, so it would likely get more attention in the EAA/Tanfoglio forum. So everything is factory except the trigger? If so I would start by backing out the pretravel screw all the way and see if that fixes it, then move it back in slowly. When you have the trigger fully rearward, work the hammer back and forth, if you can feel the hammer touching the sear back off the screw until it swings clear.
  11. When you say production 9mm, you mean factory 9mm ammo for range plinking right? not the USPSA Production division?
  12. A barrel swap is possible (I know shooting 9mm rounds in 9mm barrels in .40 slides works, I just haven't done it enough to say it's 100% reliable), but the trouble is finding a small frame, 4.75" 9mm cone barrel; I wouldn't bet my life there are not any small frame 9mm Limited pistols in the US, but there probably aren't more than a handful. The barrel itself would be even more rare and if you found it 90% chance it would be from EAA and they would probably charge $300-$400. However, you can get a small frame 9mm longslide conversion kit with a standard barrel; EAA lists them for $589 (when they get them in stock), but I can likely get you set up for less than that. Are you just trying to get set up to have a Limited Minor/L10 Major setup? or are you interested in shooting Open 9 Major with this frame?
  13. How about red grip tape? Easier might actually be to make a stencil, spray adhesive, then dust it with red sand.
  14. I think the easier way to go would be to buy the Eric Graffel grips and fill in the logo with red paint:
  15. I've got some, I'll inventory when I get home tonight.
  16. I don't know about you, but I'm not a stakeholder in USPSA, so if another sport (IDPA? SASS?) brings this wildly popular division to market, grows it's membership and crushes USPSA... I'll shoot those matches.
