  1. It's a prototype from Scott Springer.
  2. Here's my latest I plan to play with next week, it's my lightest Open gun yet
  3. You can check that rationality at the door bud I'm just sharing what I know, do I agree with all the Production division rules? No, that's part of the reason I don't shoot it.
  4. This is not what Amidon ruled, he explicitly stated caliber conversions were not legal and also ruled 38/9 as well as 40/10 the same calibers.
  5. The lightest or lighter. I've gone as low as 8#, the 5.5kg spring (lightest one which comes with the gun) is ~12#.
  6. Not doing any mag changes Seriously, most stages I shoot can handled with a single big stick, so maybe two mag changes on the clock per match.
  7. Are you feeling the rounds hit the sear cage during slide lock reloads?
  8. Didn't notice until the next round wouldn't chamber.
  9. My go to load is 9.2-9.4gr of SP2 under a 115, but this one was 8.4gr of HS6 under a 115, probably not quite major.
  10. I've need loading 9 major for ~2 1/2 years using whatever brass I pick up, pretty much daring a case to fail and I had my first today: Strange one, it broke right in half and a ring of brass stayed in the chamber. Pretty uneventful really. Thought I'd share.
  11. I have a Tanfolio with a 3.8" slide!
  12. They do have full recoil systems. That's a tough call... They both have holes (two large holes in the longer one and three small holes in the super shorty), and they chrono almost exactly the same (the super shorty is an AET barrel and the longer is STI). I have so many different Open guns I'm not sure what I prefer anymore. If you want a shorty, you might as well go all the way, I would cut an inch off the slide with minimal cuts, use a 4.4" 9mm bushing barrel with a cone adapter and a good TI comp and no holes.
  13. If you're shooting minor I suggest 95/100gr bullets and 9gr of HS6, it should be around 155pf, super soft and flat.If you're going to shoot 124s, you'll make major with ~7.7gr, it'll shoot flatter ~8 and anything less won't work the Como very well. Don't stress out about shooting major in the CM, it's built like a tank . With no holes in the barrel, 9 major is no problem. 100 and 95 grain bullets are not legal for uspsa. He did not mention that he was shooting uspsa but he did reference charlies. So I assumed he is shooting uspsa. Take another look at Appendix D1.3, the minimum bullet weight for major is 112; there is no minimum bullet weight for minor.
  14. I have two short 2011s: one with 1/2" off the slide and one with an inch off.

  16. Is this correct or do you have it backwards? I'm not very familiar with .38 super, but I thought the semi-rimmed case would mean that the 9mm breach face is slightly smaller? Yes, I had it backwards, 9mm is slightly smaller than 38 super.
  17. I've done it, no problem. The 38 super breech face is slightly larger than 9mm, so if you go the other way it will only chamber 38 super comp.
  18. I'd say your best bet would be to customize a Canyon Creek magwell for a Witness Match: http://www.shop.canyoncreekcustom.com/product.sc?productId=16&categoryId=3 It's for large frame so it would take a little welding/blending, plus mods for the main spring plug, but its possible. What's wrong with the aluminum one?

I get 23+1 in both TS and 75 140s (one TS mag holds 24+1), 28+1 in my 75 big sticks and 29+1 in one of my TS big sticks. 75 big stick tubes aren't easy to come by (I have one that's almost as old as me and another I made from a cut down ProMag), but an SP01 mag with a CZC spring/follower/pad holds 25-26.

Awesome! Did you make the comp yourself?

Eli, that's true in 40s, but not 9mm.

Not that I've heard of, as far as I know they all shoot 2011s. I've got one though
  23. I slight difference in the distance between pin holes could effect the reset length.
