  1. I AGREE BAG IT! Ivan SCS Vegas
  2. Every one has a gun guru, my self included, Mine is Fred Craig now i'm not saying that he gave me this advice, but he did tell me if it works use it if you shoot better use it, I think he was refering to the mental aspect of the game, If you believe it helps you shoot better it will! As with martial arts, after you reach a point, it's all in the brain pan. Later, Ivan SCS Vegas
  3. Pete, Call me at Armscor and I will bring it to you. We Should be there on Thursday. You call we haul. Ivan Armscor SCS Vegas 1(775)537-1444
  4. The Armscor standard 38 super is designed for guns with unsupported chambers. What you need is the 38 super rimless IPSC loaded ammo. It is a little longer and a lot hotter it will make major in a standard comp gun, such as mine, if you have the man holes in your barrel you need to chrono it. Ivan Armscor SCS Vegas
  5. Team Armscor will be there. We are sponsering a stage. Ivan SCS Vegas
  6. I Shoot both the Armscor .40 cal Ipsc and .38 super Ipsc the.38 super is loaded with a 130g bullet, and yes the .40 cal ipsc load is hotter it will make major in any gun here in the US, If you are intrested call me at Armscor 1(775)537-1444.(shamless plug I'm sorry) Ivan USPSA shooters coordinator/LE sales SCS Vegas
  7. When I ran the NM sectional a few years back I used dice to randomly select shooters for chrono, Every time I went into the stat shack I would roll the dice and my wife would tell me who my shooter was, some people got it twice. Word got around pretty fast Tho- Ivan SCS Vegas
  8. Most guns from the factory are way over sprung they want to make sure they feed out of the box, I run a 14# spring in mySpringfield 1911 45acp, thats after it was broken in, I also run a 11# spring in my .40cal. STI. I don't run a shok buff, because if you have ever had one come apart, your stage is over. " if it can break it will"
  9. Shooters that partake in this practice,Are only cheating themselves I no it sounds korny but its true. It is pretty rampant, but if they don't want to be caught they won't. I don't worry about it, if they have to shoot minor to beat me then bring it on, most of us that have been shooting this game awhile know its not the ammo its the shooter! Yep Ivan SCS Vegas
  10. You know your in Colorado when you see a dude dressed in old flannel and burkenstocks with the froot loop hat covering his peanut butter rolled dreads, get out of a $40k 4 runner with a 4k kyak on top of it and a 4k titanium mt bike tied to back and goes into the thrift store. Can anyone say trustifarian.
  11. I have had good luck, when my accuracy has strayed, going to one hole drills.Set up three targets 2' apart 10YDS. From the ready position shoot one shot into the perferated A on the target all three. Go back to the ready and try to put your shot into the same hole. Speed up until your group gets to be about 4" or so.When you get bored with this just move your target further out. Remmber as With martial arts"People like to practice the forms or drills that they are good at, not the ones that will make them better" ADIOS Ivan SCS Vegas
  12. JC, When you get your XD shoot it from a bench 1st, 10 yds, 15 yds and 25 yds like I said my XD shoots well enough for me in ipsc.I would do this before I would replace the bbl. see ya Ivan SCS Vgas
  13. Sherlockwv, My XD 5" 9MM will shoot about 3" at 25 yds with pmc or armscor I have not shot any hp through it, for what I do with it thats fine I have few mods to it just the trigger. For production class Iam very happy with it. Later, Ivan SCS Vegas
  14. Thanks for the back up 300 #er, I was wondering how I was going to approach this one , also I have found in MY XD 9MM 5" a 16.5 # recoil spring is just about right after the pistol is broken in! lets see a Legal 10 round .40 with 15 9MM in it, not stamped is still a legal magazine,( sorry I just had to say it!) Ivan SCS Vegas
  15. I try to load my 38 sc to 2.450 oal it does fluctuate some, but for the cost of bullets I will deal with it, although I am partial to Armscor, maybe an inconstitant batch? It does happen, I would'nt give up on them. See Ya Ivan SCS Vegas
  16. Congratulations Kevin, I remember to this day the first time I broke a 1 second draw I also remember the first time I did 2 shots in under 1 seconds ( .69 ) It will come no joke!!!! Ivan SCS Vegas
  17. If you are looking for good quality 55g FMJ 223 bullets check out ARMSCOR. They are $39.00 per 1k plus shipping. Ivan SCS Vegas
  18. Well Dalmas, I use new brass because I don't want to bet the farm on once or twice fired brass that my press,"let through" For me it seems to chamber smoother and maybe thats all in my head. But I will say my guns Have Never Jammed using new brass! 2000 + rounds at the American Hand Gunner This Year! Ivan SCS Vegas
  19. Why did you switc bullets? Ivan SCS Vegas
  20. If you are using an XD 9MM use the standard 40 cal 10 round mags, they will hold 15 9MM rounds the feed lips are the same ( trust me this works ) .As for the trigger job I have a guy that can do the job, And I swear Its like a 1911 or the best glock trigger you have ever felt. He reduces the take up and cuts the return to about 1/8 of an inch, pretty scary! Ivan SCS Vegas
  21. Get to your gun as fast as you can, snatch that puppy out as fast as you can, get your hands together as fast as you can, take a breath pick up your sights as you extend and feel the trigger break. Ivan SCS Vegas
  22. Awsome! Erik, See you at the American Handgunner next Year? Ivan SCS Vegas
  23. Amen to that, Fit, feel, features and reliability. Ivan SCSVegas
  24. There is some good stuff here, As with my super I shoot my 40 brass untill it cracks I would however recommend using new brass at the major matches, extra reassurance. Ivan SCS Vegas
