  2. Guys and gals, several more sponsors have stepped up to support this match. We are at greater than $ 31,000.00 in prizes now. Everyone signed up thus far will receive a nice prize, many will get a fantastic prize.....no t-shirt only type thing going on here! Please remember to support those who support our sport directly. Links to all the sponsors are available on the Area 4 Championship website. Make sure to mention Area 4 when ordering or these fine folks won't know their sponsorship is appreciated. Lee
  3. The match has all 12 stages now setup ready to rock and roll! This is going to be a fun but challenging match. 3 weeks to go! We do still have a very few slots for Friday only shooting available. Lee
  4. Jesse, At this time we do not have a target/powder/primer dealer that is coming. Seems the lack of components doesn't make it worth their time. Lee
  5. Points!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way too many D's!
  6. Yeah, if this match operates in the red, I would be wondering where all the $$$k goes. There were 794 shooters, even with 20% shooting free and 3 RO's per squad with 7 nights in the match hotel I could not figure how they could lose money. I am completely aware of the other associated costs of big matches and understand it is not a money making venture but the difference between a $8 trophy and something worthy of a National title is not a major factor. Also, if I can put on a match with 250 shooters and provide for nicer trophies ( I certainly hope they are preceived as nice as Chef put in alot of time on them) with the scale of the USPSA Nationals I would have thought they could have as well. <>Same point as Nemo here, Nick is not whining about it. I just wish it were more than it was<>. I have won 2 trophies from Nationals of another pistol shooting sport and they are of a quality I thought was appropriate and the match fee certainly was not $275.00. I also didn't spend $182 on shirts/hats at the other Nationals event.....I am sure USPSA made a bit off that as well.
  7. Actually my son Nick was out of school for 4 days! Friday for travel, Mon/Tues still shooting and Wednesday travelling home. We have done it the last 3 years and find it damaging to his first 6 weeks no matter how he tries to catch up. As stated before, Juniors are the future of our sport and why the Nationals are held just as the school year is starting is strange to me. June in Las Vegas sounds good! Also, his High Junior trophy for a Nationals event of any kind was a bit disappointing. No disrespect to who made it, just wonder why USPSA had to cheap out on something that could inspire rather than disappoint. The sponsor trophies were nicer than the competitors.
  8. We do have a few slots for the Friday only match still available. I am sure you would enjoy shooting in Squad 8 if you can make it! Oh yeah, and the prize table is > $29k now..... Lee
  9. Congratulations to the High Junior Open Division, Nicholas Neel! Lee Neel
  10. The 2009 Area 4 Saturday/Sunday match is now FULL more than 1 month before the match is to begin! Thanks to all who helped spread the word to make this happen. There are a very few slots available for all day Friday shooting. Fill out the online app and submit it. If there are still slots available I will email you back so that you can pay. Lee
  11. Mike, we are not oppose to opinions....we solicited plenty in order to come up with this decision and want to keep the tone of this thread positive. We made a decision and know not everyone would totally agree but no decision would have done that anyway. We do appreciate you signing up and look forward to seeing you at the match. Lee
  12. Well, you could win a gun via the random draw and earn a gun by winning a division....I guess we didn't spell that out clearly enough. In that case you would have to give one up. I guess you would have to be lucky to win one and very good to earn another one.....it could happen but..... Lee
  13. Well, at least you know your holster securely holds your gun. I have done it before and had the gun, holster, and outer belt up by my ear before I figured out it was locked Lee
  14. I would look at page 11! We are attempting to eliminate the 2-3 hours of prize distro at the end of the match when everyone wants to get home. The is a pure random prize selection and no one will just go home with a bottle opener. All prizes are worth more than $50 and some > $500. Lee
  15. I found a mistake... You forgot that the chrono is worth 10% of the match... True......I also forgot to tell everyone to make sure your scores on the Palms are what you thought BEFORE you sign it. Just like a paper scoresheet, once signed it is done! I will add these when I get home from work!
  16. Ok, there are now only 2 slots available for the match. These are on a first come, first served basis. The first 2 Paypal notifications I get will take them. After that you will be put on a wait list until 20 have been added. We were out at the range all weekend finishing the setup. 11 of 12 stages are 100% done and look fantastic. This is going to be fun! Area 4 Championship website Lee
  17. The match is more than 95% full. Only 12 more slots are open for the match. Get those apps in! Lee
  18. The match is more than 90% full. Only 19 more slots are open for the match. Get those apps in! Area 4 Championship website Lee
  19. Yep, DQ. Always get an RO to pickup a dropped gun. Lee
  20. PE, no doubt.....I did the same thing at 2006 IDPA Nationals. I did it, earned it, took it and moved on. Lee
