  1. Sounds interesting. Wouldn't mind seeing how this project turns out. I have a GSG 1911, and use only iron sights.
  2. Thanks. small, diamond files. It's a PITA, but well worth it.
  3. Frame fitted to the Duty One 9mm slide. Smooth as glass. And gapless rails.
  4. Just used DSR on a $100 order, and it worked. At first, it didn't take on the initial Check out Page. But if you use it on the 2nd Step, to the check out process, in the Promotional Code specific box, then it'll take.
  5. Thanks guys. Still debating on whether to blue te frame to match the slide, or cerakote it FDE to match the grip. We'll see.
  6. Chopped the square trigger guard.
  7. Dan Wesson CCO Remsport Heavy Duty STI Duty One 45 STI Duty One 9 and 45
  8. Wow! Looks ridiculously nice. Congrats.
  9. Nothing to update since I'm still fitting the frame to the slide. I did get new grips in, coyote tan. And will be doing some mods to it. Will have some updates this weekend. Some mods will be: Clean up the molding flashes on the grip. Remove two lines on each edge of the FSC. This should help to round up the front strap so it's not too square. Reshape trigger guard to take off the square corner.
  10. My Costa mag release/catch bent and started getting mags stuck along with causing feeding problems because the mag was setting low in the gun. They have yet to return my email and I'm too lazy to make a phone call at this point. Wow man. That sucks. Hope you'll have a good outcome. As for the Costa Edition M&P, I'll pass.
  11. It was on my want list. But since I'm starting on a 2011 build, it'll have I wait.
  12. I had installed a tri-glide on a buddy's VIP, and it just had an extra dimple in the back of the trigger bow. This is so there's minimum drag between the bow and disco. As far as I'm concern, a good polishing job on contact surfaces will do the trick to minimize friction.
  13. also check the overtravel adjustment on the trigger. Too much and it won't let it completely reset.
  14. on 1911s, just trim the ejector higher to clear the mag so it won't touch the ejector, as one slam in a fresh mag. And on 2011s, run a posi-lock mag catch, and trim the ejector. I guess it all comes down on preferences. I rather save the hammer and sear hook.
  15. All of those are possible areas to look at. But more importantly, are you using quality parts? What brand ignition kit did you use?
  16. Or look at an EGW's BTGS. They make them with an undercut radius so it'll help to fill in those overcut tags.
  17. I will average about 200-300 rounds a session. Most of that is with my 1911-22. It's set up pretty much identical to some of my other 1911s. The good thing about my 22 is that I run it dirty, and mix up my ammo, so it'll malfunction. The reason for this so I don't know when it'll malfunction, and can practice clearing it, and getting the gun back on target. It's a great thing to be able to get a tight group and all, but I think a lot of people forget to practice clearing malfunctions and getting the gun back to working, quickly. And lastly, trying to keyhole 22s are much harder than 9mm's or other larger calibers. So it's also a good tool to practice tighter group. I also mix in shooting my other guns, so I can get the control of my carry guns.
  18. Here's my STI Duty One 9mm and 45ACP. The 9mm is on top.
  19. I've been bitten by the 2011 bug in the recent year. So, here's my plan to get one in the collection. I'll be building up this 2011 lower and fit the top end from my STI Duty One 9mm. Let the project begin. So when I'm done, it'll be similar to the STI Eagle, except it'll have a fixed rear sight.
  20. At the end of the day, a gun that puts a smile on your face is the one that's worth it, regardless if it's a $500 factory or a $5000 custom build. Eventually, there's a diminishing return once you hit a price point. But then again, price and worth is all in the eye of the beholder. With that said, don't expect to get full price on the custom build, since it was to your specs.
  21. Thanks. I haven't done any type of competition. But I wouldn't mind adding it to the list.
  22. Hi there. new to the forum, but not firearms. I'm an avid 1911 fan. And now I'm starting to get into 2011s. Cuong
