  1. I somewhat agree with warpspeed... Let the open div move their holster, pouches, flip trousers inside out, do whatever within the rules and what remains safe (no cross draws, etc) and stick to the behind hip bone rules for Std, PD, Rev - still haven't decided what to do with Mod....talking IPSC rules.... We can not go around changing rules, etc to suit us when ever..... We all started to play this game by the rules that existed - the bad rules became better with every edition - thus give positive feedback with good solutions to be debated and stick to the rules as they are until changed (if ever). And please don't allow multiple guns for the Open guys - I only got a limited amount of drool which will not be enough for 4+ guns per shooter....
  2. I really hate people who have no respect for the feelings, property, likes and dislikes of other people. Yes, IDPA deserves to be treated the way it is treated, but have respect for the guy who shoots it - his choice.... Went to shoot a silhouette match this weekend for the first time in my life, just before I went to my weekly clay target match (yes there seem to be other shooting sports beside IPSC ). The first comment I got when walking in there - in a very serious way - is that no combat shooting or "wild" shooting would be allowed! These guys offered zero asistance ITO rules, conduct, whats and wheres.....real fun to have your money taken and not get anything for it. To me everything boils down to respect - sh1t, you can hate the persons guts and his game, but treat them like you would like to be treated! I'll go shoot there little steel target with my FN now - they look so much nicer perforated......
  3. Lost my breakthrough some how - need to regain confidence in myself and my equip - need to enjoy the game again!!!
  4. IMO, this goes under the loaded gun rules where the RO didn't tell you to load.... Have a nice day at home with your loaded gun-----DQ! BTW - how would you discover that?
  5. Agreed in all the above - help the RO he had/will have a long day and is only as human as the guy who shot the NS - mistakes happen. And loudly ask for the white patches - it aleays get everybodies attention
  6. Here is a tip: Yes I was standing waist deep in brass - met a woman willing to help pick up ..........problem solved..... You should start a dating thread - much easier then starting a dating site..... BTW, chocolat and shooting don't mix to well - grips get gooyee and gun looses its luster with all that stuff dripping around.... leather is always good
  7. Is EricW getting jealous? Seems like we have to many horny shooter chatting away here - go shoot out your frustration!!!!
  8. Just got my pistol back from the smit! Looks like new compared to it's previous state The front sight I designed looks awsome - not too bright, just right. Real sharp and clear with zero reflection!!!! Will test it this weekend to see how it goes - I can feel those A's in my fingertips..... Thanx for all the help....
  9. Seems like a prob everywhere.... Electical Eng, Masters in Eng Management (simmilar to MBA), lots of experiance and references, etc....jobs out there: NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. What I normally do is see my front sight on the target (often even the A-zone ) and I only include the rear sight in my sight picture for targets that are out of hoser range, for me ±5-7 meters and beyond.....Works so far I can not see any gain in time in just seeing the slide or including the front sight, but accuracy did seem to improve.
  11. That about the conclusion I poped up with as well - load a bit higher and forget about it..... Thanx guys.........
  12. IMO 10.2.3 is applicable only to 10.2.1&2 The score for the above would be (2*5)-25 = (as per IPSC) 0 zero score even if you limit the penalties in this case.... will however withhold further comment until our rules masters have spoken.....
  13. As with so many things in life....you get those shooters that were DQ'ed and those that will be DQ'ed .....and guess what - its all your own fault......
  14. Just to make you feel better R and L, at our last national match: Top open shooter, hoser stage (seated at table, pistol on table, 4 targets around table - the one on the right is 0.5m away from extended gun) and guess what, THAT target had 2 mikes and no comp blast or mark, no ptaches blown off - nada..... overshot the target by about 30 to 40 cm...... Sh1t happens to ALL.........
  15. So far for me the easiest way is the one described using a round to just feed the other out of the mag - works for the FAL, Mini-14, AK, LM, etc...just name 'em And it only costs....nothing - unless you eventually shoot that round.....
  16. Some guys 'round here will be happy to hear that! Thanx for the help
  17. Oops, sorry forgot 'bout that one for a sec....
  18. 2-3 per popper, 3-4 per steel, at least 2 for N/S, 2 for filled in misses plus minimum rounds..... No wonder a take 400 rounds to a 150 round match...... Count your shots before your shoot, while you shoot and after you shot!
  19. My old problem: End of satge: (With a smile) "I got 'em all maybe down 1 or 2!" End of shoot: (Tear in one eye) "How the h@#l did I end second from bottom on that stage?" Been there, seen it, done it - DIDN'T like it!
  20. IMHO I would like to see the classifier scored on its own (maybe even if the DQ happend before the CL stage) - would get more people assest faster and help IPSC overall.
  21. I had a chat with some guys around here over the weekend and all agree that vel wil go down with a decrease in alti due to the higher resistance of the "thicker" air on the bullet. We also came to the conclusion that the biggest unknow factor is the calibration of the Chrono - since temp and alti are known. At the distances that the chronies are set up alti should not make that big a diff. Skywalker: You should see how safe a "rubberised" pistol is - can't even get to the trigger. But since this is a family forum I'll not post a pic.........
  22. So what seems to be the bottom line is that yes it is legal to use a pistol with stock as rifle in IPSC - you would just be daft to do it if distances exceed 100-150m...... thanx for the help
  23. Engineers learn latin - must have missed that class
  24. It is a stunning pistol and we'll probably see them around alot soon Like the long dust cover - counters the weight of that long (heavy?) mag.... PD has brought us some nice toy after all
