  1. That RMR MPR Nuke definitely has a very similar profile! IMO, you may need to load a JHP to get the terminal velocity close to the Gold Dot's performance..... Good luck!
  2. I would take a close look at the striker lug on the one from the BG tuned slide to see if there was any "polishing" of the lug/sear interface. If not you should be at the same function level with a stock striker assembly...... Good luck in Kentucky!
  3. @RangerTrace: Those are EXCELLENT results! Glad to help!
  4. As many have stated over the years.......you have to take these book values "with a grain of salt" as they are being shot out of a 4" test barrel and always express conservative data. Scroll up in the VV data to a 124g Alsa Pro FMJ @1.142" OAL and you see max for N320 at 4.5g! Always start with YOUR gun/barrel at YOUR preferred OAL, and test with a chrono while looking for pressure signs from your brass/primers. Also compare data in other publications.
  5. Of course.........I understand; and I would also work up in small steps as your dealing with the 4.7" barrel.........
  6. Go here to get the firmware update: https://www.markvii-loading.com/knowledgebase Then watch this great video on installation/update: https://www.facebook.com/john.vlieger/videos/1529037644287128?idorvanity=504933746900244 If it still shuts off/fails, then definitely CALL tech support!
  7. I may have already mentioned it...........but Luke at KKM said I should be in the 4.7g - 4.8g for my 5" KKM barrel to come into it's "sweet spot".......... Good luck!
  8. 3.5g of N320 works great with a 147JHP; however, as @Sargeadvised, the 124/125g JHPs will like at least 4.0 - 4.2 depending on OAL.......
  9. Got the MRH in yesterday, and did run into a slight bit of interference with the LOC not allowing the locking lever to engage freely. I can lightly "tilt" the grip backwards, which raises the dust cover off the magnets; and the locking lever easily engages. My issue appears the left side of the grip, right in front of the mag release housing, is contacting the holster early. Putting a bit of down pressure on the grip also shows interference on the right side; again right in front of the mag release housing. BTW: Steve at Everglades sent me the same pic as above; and said: @zzt and others: do you feel the same mod to the top of the holster would remedy my issue? Adding pics for clarity...... Thanks!
  10. Want to say THANK YOU to everyone for sharing your experience. Truly appreciated!
  11. IMO, N330 is way to fast for 9mm major! https://www.vihtavuori.com/powder/3n38-handgun-powder/#:~:text=Vihtavuori's 3N38 powder is designed, loads in 9 mm and .
  12. A great alternative for those that don't want to make their own............... https://deeprivercustoms.com/product/takedown-tool/
  13. Sounds very doable! Thanks for your detailed feedback!
  14. Since I have "retired" hands, they aren't as tough as they once were.....so I chose the S2. It's plenty aggressive for me. May want to do a personal assessment of what you've been used to; and if you have any doubts, discuss it with David. I feel you could send the pistol back, while it's in new condition, and have the grip swapped if your not 100% satisfied. I share your excitement on waiting for it to arrive! You'll love it!
  15. Yea, I've used a lot of Dawson products over the years, and never had an issue. Just haven't used the TLGR in a competition pistol. I am very OCD on the maintenance and regular cleaning of my pistols. Would the TLGRs require any specific or additional maintenance requirements I may not be familiar with? Thanks to you both for your feedback!
  16. I've used Dawson before in a fun/range STI; but never in competition..........so @shred and @ima45dv8you would prefer the Dawson over an Atlas for competition? THANKS for your feedback!
  17. I've read several posts for and against the tool less guide rods. Looking for recommendations from those shooting Limited type 2011 Competition pistols.............do you prefer the one piece GR that uses the take down tool (paper clip) or the tool less? I really like the tool less for convenience during take down and/or cleaning, and am considering the Atlas unit. But if the seasoned veterans here deem them prone to failure, I will stick with the one piece with take down tool. Thanks for your feedback!
  18. Thought it would be more appropriate to put my follow-up post in the Open Pistols section.............
  19. I actually ordered a DS9 Hybrid on February 7, and then switched my build to the LO Comp once they announced it. Their web page shows current time 14-16 weeks. My LOC was ready to ship in the 13th week. I definitely wanted a specific list of options and coating combination; so I ordered one. For those looking to purchase "off the shelf" Shooter's Connection in KY is a Platinum Dealer. https://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Complete-Firearms/2011-Pistols/2011-9mm-Limited-Gun Thanks for the kudos!
  20. After a brief season in Production using an S2 Orange, and now switching (from CO) back to the 2011 platform for LO, I can respectfully disagree as IMO the function/operation of the CZ fire control group is extremely more complicated that that of a 1911/2011! And I honestly feel the historical data would prove that platform to be one of the most reliable/easily maintained designs ever used in competition. As @ltdmstrnoted in his experience, I think the numbers speak for themselves!
  21. Not sure if this event drew National attention; but he was competing with a DS9..........
