  1. If you're going to be trying a number of different Glock sights, a sight mover makes life easy. The excellent MGW mover will work on most fixed sights, but it won't fit Dawson Adjustables... this tool will do any rear sight, almost any gun, including red dot dovetail mounts: https://extreemtactical.com/vism-by-ncstar-vtuprs-universal-semi-auto-pistol-slide-rear-sight-tool
  2. I tried the poor man's Roland Special, G19g4 MOS with the KKM barrel & comp...Brass Stacker gen 4 to 3 adapter, Wolff guiderod and Wolff 13# spring, it ran 147g subsonic minor PF reloads 100%. I did not try 115g cheap ammo, the bullet weight matters a bit. There was very little comp "action" with the subs, but the setup ran perfectly with 13# spring. I think--but am not sure--that using Wolff roundwire springs in G19, you're approaching full compression, and ISMI flatwire might be a better solution, but then you can't use a Wolff or other .270 guiderod, you need .263 or smaller (Jager, Carver). The guys at Brass Stacker played with G40, G41 and converted them to gen3 RSAs but found they couldn't use roundwire springs, the spring went to full compression prior to end of recoil cycle.
  3. Did the same thing... put 30K thru a G34, then tried a CZ SP01... couldn't get used to the weight, transitions were slower, didn't put in the effort to make the DA/SA transition easy...was easier to go back to Glock. If you prefer the Gen3s, now is the time to put a few away... Glock is only doing "occasional" runs of Gen3s for the CA market, and that will only last until they drop off the Handgun Roster. Gen3s already unavailable at LEO/MIL distributors, I bought the last G34g3 at GT Distributors in January, and my local cop shop can't order Gen3s from Glock anymore.
  4. Glocktriggers.com Haley Skimmer in conjunction with a Ghost Rocket with the overtravel tab... very little pretravel, imperceptible overtravel. Once the Rocket tab is set, no adjustable parts to go out of spec on you, has been 100% reliable for 24K rounds now. Charlie Vanek's Master kit with polished striker & FPB also nice, but expensive... used Skimmers around $80 and Ghost Rocket cheap...if you get the Rocket kit, comes with orange backplate to check striker/tab engagement.
  5. If you decide to go with MOS... DO NOT use Loctite on the screws! Last night I was getting a pair of G19MOS' ready to sell...removed optic and plate from one, no problem. 2nd gun had been coming loose while shooting, so had used Loctite on all 4 screws... holy smokes... almost ruined the dot getting it off, but at least those screws use decent size bits. The MOS plate was almost impossible to remove, broke 5 tiny Torx T6 bits before resorting to Dremel, cut slots across top of each screw and finally removed with a flathead screwdriver. NO LOCTITE!
  6. 4 tiny screws with little purchase vs 2 longer screws with more purchase to hold optic on...with MOS adapter plates, you're anchoring the plate to the slide with 2 screws, then dot to plate with 2 more short screws...they work loose, and then you have to remove dot to tighten MOS plate. With milled, you only have 2 screws to manage, and they're readily accessible for tightening.
  7. Robin Taylor has updated his design, now 9mm specific and holds +12 instead of +10. I've tried the ETS 140mm & 170mm mags, they work fine with shiny new brass...if your reloads are cleaned with SS pins instead of polished, the cases can be "sticky" in the all-polymer ETS tubes, and fail to feed, with a stuck spring. Cannot reliably feed any cheap steel cased ammo from the ETS for same reason, the rounds stick in the tubes.

  9. As a long-time lurker but new poster here, the inability to link to Google Photos or DropBox for pics is giving me fits... y'all have a suggestion? The Agency Arms machining is pretty:
  10. The Agency Arms magwell & plug both appear to be aluminum, very light... both pieces with the 2 screws combine to be 0.652oz on my scale. Should be good for rule 8.1.7.2 "weighted grip plugs" unlike the heavy Carver unit with its 3.4oz brass insert.
  11. I was unwilling to chop on a Carver Big Mouth, and have found--at least on G19g4s--the Carver isn't very stable unless epoxied in place; jamming your 3 fingers between triggerguard and Carver causes the Big Mouth to flex downward... and the little #4-40 Hex Head Screw retaining the Carver is easily broken (Fastenal mail order only). Ordered el cheapo plastic magwell but its ugly, and the lip isn't as pronounced, its more of a taper. Agency Arms did not respond to email or phone, but took a chance and ordered their G19g4 No Backstrap magwell. Finally got to speak to an AA Rep when they called about the order, and Rep was unable to provide dimensions 0_o Now the good news: the Agency magwell has superior fit & finish compared to the other two, its rock solid when installed and really lets you jam the fingers between magwell and triggerguard, no epoxy needed. It measures 1.324" and fits the IDPA CCP box.
  12. Dawson Precision stick-on sandpaper basepad numbers have worked well, they fit a variety of mags, can be trimmed with scissors to fit CZ http://www.dawsonprecision.com/CategoryProductList.jsp?cat=GRIP+TAPE
  13. If LWD offered their G21T slide with a solid top, then it would be legal for CDP, right? They offer the 34 & 35 slides with or without the cut, so perhaps its an option.
