  4. (rant mode) Just because i dont own a PC revolver i cant have a external trigger stop...this just isnt right.. I will abide by there rules I just dont like this ruling... (rant mode off) I guesess this will be a good excuse to try out my 646 and try to learn it now
  5. I called IDPA headquarters and inquired about external trigger stop on revolver...Dru says it IS NOT LEGAL. Now to shoot in nationals i will have to grind mine off, or use a different revolver. At least before i went thru a DQ, after reading other posts I called and found out...
  6. DID anyone ever find out if external trigger stops are legal for IDPA?
  7. I was reading a jerky topic a few molments ago and since my deer rolls didnt fit anywhere thought id start a new thread Deer Rolls I take deer meat (usually a good steak cut) and slice into small strips, about as wide as bacon and 3/8" by 3/8" , Usually a few pounds will do. Next I use jalepeno peppers the ones with sliced carrots in the can (there hotter) and slice them in strips...a few pounds of peppered bacon, and tooth picks... Lay peppered bacon out, 2 pieces of deer with a slice of jalepeno between each piece, and roll it up in bacon, tooth pic thru center to hold together, Fry in greese till bacon is done.
  8. OK i must clarify what i meant...If staging is taking the trigger to the place where the cylinder bolt ingages and hestating...Then i dont stage...What makes the most sence to me is Preping the trigger...the trigger is always moving as i shoot, and i agree smooth should be your goal, speed will come with practice. My example would be on a close classifier....draw shoot 2 body and 1 head...7 yrds..When i shoot with no PREP...2.5 secs is as fast as i can shoot cleanly. On the other hand if i prep after the draw and break at extension, second shot preping as sight lowers from recoil, preping as sight rises and break as it starts down the head. then 1.7 and 1.8 become possible... Like lots of techiniques it works for somethings, But now for where it dosent work...I had 2 shoot targets a no shoot and another shoot...2 to each target...I figured heh id just use cadence and pause as i swung over no shoot right? my mistake was looking at the no shoot....either way the preping as u pass over something u dont want to shoot is a bad idea...just my .02 worth

  10. Yes staging a revolver trigger is a very usefull technique. With that being said , You have to be careful where you are willing to stage it. I practice staging with dryfires, transistions. A lot of revolver shooters start a draw from holster as a quick wrist snap bringing the gun out 45 degrees pointed down range and stage as you extend and pick up as much of your front sight as u choose to use , CAUTION THERE IS NOTHING AS NASTY AS HAVING A ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE IN HOLSTER In competition you must stage to be fast and accurate, just be sure to invest a lot of practice into it before u try and shoot a match. saftey is always a first concern...
  11. Last night before IDPA league I took my revolver that i had been dry firing with apart to remove the STUPID LAWYER LOCK its a model 625....well I got it back together minus the stud that blocks the hammer....whew and I head off to tuesday evening match.....everything is going well.....I found the Zone...I need a reload swing cylinder open and try to reload high it wont close..... so i swing down and try low....only 1/2 sec lost....and the Crane screw that i hadnt torqued down comes lose and the cylinder crane assembly flies off gun leaving me only holding frame... I watch as my crane and cylinder bounce down the contrete floor.... Damn Lawyer locks anyways....
  12. I am still fond of the Boker Crystal TI . I have only seen a total of 3 now....and 2 were on this thread

  16. ok ok so i deserved it... I might clean it... Why is the hammer so "ready"? So i can fix ma dillon if it isnt cooperatin
  17. Well i cant believe how nice everyones reloading benches look... maybe i should have cleaned it? :unsure
  18. The first few matches i shot were strictly targets and how to engage them...thats fine...I love to shoot Then i shot at the mid south regionals and had a blast with a scenario So if I have a choice I would go to ones with a story line behind them. I think in the end i just feel like i was part of game..
  19. 625 4", they are reliable and accurate. 625 4" MG lighter but same gun 325 2- 3/4" favorite fast 45 IDPA revolver 646 this is one i am trying now 40 cal moon clips L frame Have u noticed i havent touched the 610? a 40 or 10 in a N frame leaves a lot of space between cyliners that hinder reloads. even when heavly chamfered.
  20. I tried IPSC again tonight, Well i had read all these good ideas on this forum so my goal was to clear my mind and focus on my sight......good game plan...and just trust my ability I was shooting revolver, so i knew my reloads would have to be made during anytime i moved (i figured they were free if i was running) anyways the game plan worked,,,i saw sights.....shot a lot of As 4cs and a few ds in 85 rounds....that was the good part.. i stepped over a foward fault line in one string and recieved 4 procceduals.....sheesh one for each shot....40 points blown in 1 sec... other wise it was a good time....I think i need to add being aware to my list of things to do....
  21. Sig if its like hoppe's 9 then your a keeper But on the other hand if its like Tetra gun copper solovent then instead of ear muffs have to wear nose plugs damn drifted this thread.....oops
