  1. The date has been set for WI section. I can't remember when it is but I will find out.
  2. I have learned this lesson the hard way. As soon as ANYTHING feels different with the press STOP right away, take things apart, and find the problem. It is usually just a loose bolt or something that needs to be adjusted. The press will NEVER fix itself. A spare parts kit is a must have. That is all.
  3. Everyone I know loads .45 for 1911s to 1.25 col. When i was new at reloading I experimented with shorter col with a kimber and I had many feeding problems. Started loading to 1.25 problems went away. My STI Trojan runs like a champ with 1.25.
  4. You will be able to find someone on this forum to complain about every chronograph made. A chronograph is a precision instrument that needs to be checked for consistency. Shooting standard velocity .22 ammo with the same lot number over it is a good way to do this. Not making PF at a match isn't the chronos fault. Just like blowing up a gun because your scale was off isn't the scales fault. That being said I have had good luck with my chrony and think it is well built. The 2 CED M2s that I used I thought were flimsy and not something I would want to haul back and forth to the range. YMMV
  5. I think the chrony is the best for the money
  6. The ETMs will need the extended basepad if you are using the Ice magwell. I have been using ETMs for 2 years now with no problem.
  7. Try Black Bullets International
  8. Ccnati it may help to post where you are from. You might be able to find someone local to help get you started and take you to a match.
  9. I ordered my CTR-02 on February 20th and picked It up today at my LGS, 10 weeks and 2 days later. I can't be happier. When I ordered the website said it would be 6-9 months. JP has done an outstanding job getting guns in the hands of their customers. Now to find time to send some rounds down range.
  10. ^^^ You must have picked up the CTR-02 with the presentation grade finish. Friend of mine was thinking about getting it but he found out that you can't think about it long our it will be gone. Congrats on your new rifle.
  11. Just received call from JP. Gun is in final inspection. Ha ha ha ha ha ha
  12. Shooting SS I always try to have a backup plan. Having 8 in a mag a single miss will almost always bring your stage plan to an end. I find that thinking about this during my walk thru saves me time by finding the best place to gas up again to get my gun back to 9 rounds and back to my plan. What is the podcast you are listening to?
  13. I just finished the 64 pages that this thread has turned into. One of the funniest things that I have come across in a long time.
  14. 4 gains is the max load on the Hodgdon website. When I started reloading I quickly found out that 4 gains wasn't going to cut it with a 230g bullet. What I was told was that "everybody goes over 4 grains just a little bit". Watch for excessive pressure signs as always when pushing the max. I shot 8k rounds with this load last year with 0 problems.
  15. I placed my order 1 week ago and received my confirmation email and invoice today.
  16. I placed my order for a CTR-02 today. After I pushed the final submit button the next screen said that my lower would ship in 4-8weeks and my upper in 6-9 months. We will see what happens.
  17. I have 6 thousand 230 grain that I will be loading with clays. I plan to have some loaded and do some shooting with them this weekend. This will be my first time with BBI but I have been hearing good things about them since the new owner.
  18. I decided to get in line and when it comes It comes. I sold a 1911 over the weekend and am going to sell my current ar to raise funds.
  19. If the wait is over a year that is what I would like to know.
  20. Does anybody have any idea how long the wait is right now ordering from JP? I don't want to waste anybody's time calling. My plan is to sell my current rifle and use that money for a down payment on a CTR 02. I would like know if I will have a rifle by April for 3 gun?
  21. I had to make some mods to the controller unit and add a start button to be able to use this for USPSA and 3 gun. Has been a good quality piece so far.
  22. We have 1 of these at our club. What are your questions?
  23. At our club match last month a friend of mine shot limited minor with his glock that he uses for 3 gun. He has an edge but wanted to see how he would do shooting minor. He won limited by 18%. 2nd place was a master so it wasn't that he didn't have any competition. If you hit your Alphas it doesn't make a difference.
