  1. If you don't have a rule book you should ask around and find someone with extras. When I get done working a major match I will keep the rule books from my stage and give them to people at my home club need 1.
  2. 5.7.1 A competitor who experiences a handgun malfunction while responding to the “Make Ready” command, but prior to issuance of the “Start Signal”, is entitled to retire to repair his handgun without penalty, under the authority and supervision of the officiating Range Officer and subject to the provisions of Rule 5.7.5, Rule 8.3.1.1, and all other safety rules. Once the repairs have been completed (and the provisions of Rule 5.1.7 have been satisfied, if applicable), the competitor may return to attempt the course of fire, subject to scheduling as determined by the officiating Range Officer or Range Master.
  3. Use Hornady 1 Shot case lube before you load. It does not need to be cleaned again.
  4. I'm waiting for rifle caliber revolver optics
  5. If you are loading ammo, you need a chrono. Published load data will often be different in your gun, your components, and your environment.
  6. I have Dillon and One Shot case lube on my bench. The solution to this problem is One Shot. It lubes to make running the press much smother, easier to apply, and you don't need to tumble to remove it like the Dillon lube. Reloading rifle is a different story. One Shot is worthless on rifle cases.
  7. I have used Shooters Connection and Dawson Precision.
  8. Thanks for this idea. I picked up a fatboy jr on black Friday. Are any of you using something for humidity control in the safe?
  9. I have been buying nothing but BBI for 3 years now. I shoot 9,40,and 45.Great product and pricing with outstanding customer service.
  10. I could write a dissertation on all my bad experiences with the USPS shipping and reciving bullets, brass and checks for the bullets and brass. USPS = Government = bad service. This problem will never change. Your only option is to pay more and use UPS and FedEx.
  11. I'm sure he will be treated real nice when he hits gen pop. I hope he spends the rest of his life praying for death.
  12. I have loaded around 40k BBI. Great product and costumer service. Something would have to come along much cheaper for me to switch.
  13. The replenishment or the insertion of additional ammunition into a firearm means different ammo. Same magazine wouldn't count. Shooter failed to do mandatory reload. Procedural per shot fired.
  14. Do you think that this rule would apply in this case?
  15. I specifically asked if it should be range equipment failure and I was told no. I don't think that would apply here. I'm not aware of anybody taking this to arbitration.
  16. This stage had 2 rows of poppers. The back line had 5 pepper poppers and the front line had 4 mini poppers. The mini poppers were spaced to be between the poppers in the back row. The stage procedure was upon start signal engage MP1 through MP4 from box perform a mandatory reload and engage PP5 through PP9. I watched 3 people edge MP3 high left, the bullet deflect and hit PP7 taking down both steel with the single bullet. I questioned the stage staff about this and they told me the popper is scored with no penalty. I asked how that could be if there is a mandatory reload before engaging the PPs and I was basically told that is just the way it is. My understanding of 9.1.5.4 is that this happening should have been a procedural. Maybe I'm not understanding something. Can someone help me with this?
  17. Will this "muzzle over berm rule" only apply to handguns? Have you ever seen a trap shooter accidentally put a slug in his gun and then say pull? I have. If this bylaw is changed I think in the name of "safety" this should apply to the trap shooters also in case of a slug getting mixed into someones shot shells.
  18. The first is a stage design constraint. Having shot plenty of all paper stages, I wouldn't like it, but would prefer it to no USPSA. There's nothing in the rule book requiring you to use steel, or classic or metric targets..... The other two are a different story..... I understand that. My point was more about not letting a clubs BoD manipulate USPSA rules in the name of safety. From my experience with the BoD from 2 clubs the safety concerns are more about stopping action shooting than making anybody safer.
  19. If you are saying that USPSA members and the USPSA BoD should go along with club rules like this I disagree. The reason that our sport is successful is because we can go to any club to shoot a match and expect the rules to always be the same. What happens when a clubs BoD makes a "safety" rule that steel cant be shot, or no running with guns, or no rapid fire?
  20. Nimitz it sounds like your club has a BoD problem. Either the people on your board don't have any common sense or they are trying to stop action pistol shooting at your club. Actually it is probably both. It sounds like it is time for some new blood on your board. You need to be active in your club and attend the meetings. Find some USPSA members to run for board positions. I'm a MD and on the BoD at my club.
  21. Rule 3.3 Host organization may not enforce local (club) rules except to comply with legislation or legal precedent in the applicable jurisdiction. Any voluntary adopted rules that are not in compliance with these rules must not be applied to USPSA matches without the express consent of the president of USPSA.
  22. Wisconsin Section Match is September 13-14. Staff and some competitors the 13th, competitors the 14th.
