  1. PS... Dillen, thanks for the tips at lunch on Sunday... I will definately reload 69 gr BTMK bullets this fall Best regards Trey
  2. Man, it shore(sp) would be nice to see a squad list and up to date matchbook... I'm awful antsy over here
  3. Gondo, When I was assembling my Pistol grip stock on the bench, the torque I applied to the nylock nut had the most effect on tube bind. If I over-tightened the stock nut, the buffer would bind up at bottom of of the tube, and bolt group would not retun to battery. I backed the nut off slightly and everything freed up nicely. I then retorqued to a lower amount, and all functioned well. As Roxy stated, my bolt carrier group was lightened a half ounce more than the Taran Tactical BCG, and for me the PG recoil was immense, even after fitting a gel pad and going w lighter loads. I shot it with the comfortech stock this past weekend at midwest regional in park city ky and it did great, So it's going to stay this way..
  4. Can't believe there's no chatter about this match... It ran a little behind today, but overall has been a great match thus far... Anyone know if scores are posted anywhere try tonight?
  5. Yep...seen some make its way over here to Ky... heard good things about it, but have not tried it
  6. Kurt, what rye are you...uh...hem... Is he drinking? Rittenhouse?
  7. Gondo, what problems are you having with the C-tech stocked M2?
  8. Oh it's worse... Or it was for me... Strong sharp recoil, and difficulty transitioning from aerial targets to stationary ones and back to aerial
  9. The new build was an M2, that I was trying the pistol grip out on... I took the old M1 out with it to shoot them side by side for comparison. The M1 w standard stock and recoil pad shoots much better for me than the M2 with pistol grip stock and limbsaver pad added. The M2 will get the comfortech stock added bavk on this week.
  10. Okay, tried the Pistol grip route, and it swings good, and reloads ok, but I can't hit half the stuff I hit normally with my standard M1.. Several guys at our local club shoot pistol grip shotguns an do very well with them, but I couldn't get over the sharp recoil, and my inability to hit flying birds...my experiment is over... I'm putting the comfortech stock back on... I will however stick this on an 18" truck gun, to get some use out of it
  11. Yeah, Pat, I remember reading that from you quite awhile back... But, it was already lightened, so thought I'd try it, nothing ventured nothing gained
  12. I got same email yday... Guess we'll see it when we get there... Thanks Luke and Mberry. Trey
  13. Tried them today in my M2 with lightened bolt carrier. There wasn't enough inertia to unlock the bolt, so it's a nogo for me
  14. Lucas, I'm going to do same to gun in pic above, and reduce spring pressure... I saw where Jadedlade cut three coils off, an felt like he could do more.
  15. Got take it out and do some testing today... Put a resetting skinny Sammy mini popper at 125 yds, a BC steel resetting target at 275, and a 10" gong at 270... I took off the JP Cooley comp, an put the new one on, without touching anything on scope... Got settled in on painter bench we took with, and Fired a couple at the mini popper, and saw they were just right of center.. Adjusted POA left two inches, an knocked it down. Sent several down to the BC and the gong, still holding just left of center, and got good hits... Stood up, got a good stance, an fired 3 offhand, transitioning from mini popper, to BC steel, then to gong... Went 1 for 1 with no misses, so I'm very happy with the performance... I think I'm ready for 3 gun nation SE regional and the ProAm! See you guys there!
  16. Ive been working on a buddies 1301 to open up his loading port... got the sides lowered and opened up some, and blended with the end of the port over the follower.
  17. Post some pictures, Larry... hard to say without seeing it
  18. Thanks LoganBillj... It's got one jet port out to the right, and three thru the top... It's just under 1" wide x 1" tall, and 2 1/2" from end of barrel. I was able to get good quick doubles on paper at 30 yards offhand, and it did very well off a barricade, and did not jump at all... Recoil reduction feels in between the Cooley and my rolling thunder...we're gonna get some practice out to 300-350yds this weekend in preparation for ProAm, so I'll let you know how it does.
