  1. I think an Android eink reader such as this would be the way to go for PS squad scoring devices. Eink reader on Amazon Google Play can be installed on this one. So I believe Practiscore could be loaded and run on a device such as this. The biggest problem I can see is their expense. But to have something that is truly readable in sunlight!
  2. So there I was reloading along on the 650 tonight like no one's business when suddenly the ram would not fully bottom out on the downstroke. I could get close, but every time I was met by stiff resistance. I pulled the cases off the shellplate after giving the machine a quick once over visually and finding nothing obvious. The shell plate would advance but still the ram would not achieve full travel. FINALLY I noticed that a magic marker had worked its' way under the ram between the ram and the bench top and preventing full travel. (The 650 is mounted on a Dillon strong mount.) So, I guess storing junk under the strong mount isn't such a good idea.
  3. I've been burning W231 with coated 124's because I have a ton of it. It's sooty but it works. Also, I needed to get my post count up,.
  4. I use it too. I'm too lazy to chase after Sketchup.
  5. As anyone who knows me will tell you, I have a hard time walking past brass, even 9mm, so I've got a wide array of mixed brass I've been loading. I've noticed that almost invariably, Extreme brass will trigger the Dillon powder checker on the high side. That brass gets deprimed and chucked into the junk brass box. Maybe I'm being overly cautious, but I'm not exactly hurting for 9mm brass right now due to my zeal for all that glittery range brass. How does Extreme load for you?
  6. I run 3.8 of W231 with 124 coated Acmes. Like others have noted previously, its sooty but cleans up easily.
  7. What does this 3rd party belt clip do that the OEM one supplied with the timer doesn't? Thanks!
  8. Those darn local match directors!!!!
  9. I got our club affiliated late last year with USPSA/SC. The biggest problem you'll encounter is help; help with setting up and tearing down the stages. Given the proximity to that population, you shouldn't have much trouble drawing shooters. Holding a match every Saturday might become a burden depending on your enthusiasm. Find out who your section coordinator is. Get them involved. They should be happy to help. You won't get affiliated without their assistance. Get a couple Amazon HD8's for your scorekeeping devices. iPad displays wash out in any kind of sunlight. The Fires do a bit better. I've found it rewarding to get a club up and running. Good luck!
  10. I went way, way, WAAAAYYYY out on a limb and chose a Glock 17.
  11. Hi. I'm a mediocre C class SS shooter. I run matches in east central Nebraska. Our club has been affiliated with USPSA/SC for almost one year now. I'll be shooting Production this coming year for a change of pace.
  12. I am interested in the Glock 17 barrel if it hasn't been modified.

    Thanks!!  Tim

  13. I've been toying with PS with my iPad and iPhone for a little while now (< 2 weeks, no actual matches) and all seems well. I ordered an NST and got it yesterday. Rooted it with RASI. When I went to sync an existing test match from the iPad to the Nook, it didn't transfer over. New matches I created last night would go over, but the original one that existed on the iPad wouldn't xfer until I added another stage to the match. Just curious if that's the way it is or I'm doing something wrong. Updated the NST to 1.2.27 this AM, which appears to be a very nice update for the Nook. Thanks!
  14. My condolences. I know the pain.
  15. At 75* F this combo gave me an average of 870 FPS from a 5" gun, which obviously makes the PF for IDPA for CDP. I see many are going with 4.7 grs of WST or more. Am I cutting it too close with this load? Would shooting this load in 90* weather drop the MV a significant degree?

  17. 4.7 WST and 200 MBC LSWC averaged 890 fps for me the other day out of a 5" gun. Pretty snappy. I didn't even try the 4.9 loads. I'm looking to build a good IDPA CDP PF load using WST and 200 LSWC. Will be experimenting with Black Bullet coated bullets when I get them.
