  1. Cool. What are you going to do with the YJ?
  2. I saw one like the four door conversion the other day around town. It looked really wierd. I have a '99 TJ that I love. I couldn't imagine doing that to it

    Ismi

I ordered some fresh ISMI mag springs for my 140mm Glock mags recently. I mentioned that I previously got a bad 15# recoil spring. The owner told me they had a run that was not completely heat treated and that was probably one of them. He then sent me four 15# springs for free! You got to like a company that stands behind their products and has great customer service.
  4. I gave my son a little Rossi "matched pair." It's a single shot .22lr and - swap the barrel and it's a .410 single shot. It's short and handy. With the .410 barrel in place, it's the best little snake charmer around!
  5. I feel no difference between my 16" Bushmaster HBAR and my 17" Govt-style upper in swinging/transitioning. I like the HBAR configuration for a 16" upper, but that's a personal preference.
  6. A 16" HBAR weights about the same as a 20" Govt barrel. According to Bushmaster, the 16 HBAR is 2.7 # and the 20" Govt is 2.5 #. I'm not sure about the weight of the OLY. BTW - unless your barrel won't shoot reasonable groups with quality ammo, your misses @ 100 + yards are more likely due to the optic and/or trigger control than your barrel, IMO. You may want to evalute before you spend the $. It would suck to re-barrel and then realize your barrel was fine -- and then not have the $ to spend on an optic/fire control group/practice ammo. Good luck.
  7. Are you using a reduced power striker spring? If so, that's likely the culprit. Many people use them, but you can get light strikes on a slightly high primer. If you do use one, you need to drop the CCI primers (considered hard primers) and go with the softer Federal primers.
  8. Not many mods: * .090 front sight, * 5 lbs Ghost Rocket connector, * trigger bar that's has a slightly higher spring hole, * Glockmeister trigger return spring, * magwell, * steel guide rod, * skate tape, and * practice Good luck.
  9. I agree that the G22 is cheaper and easier to find used. I don't agree that it's not as controlable than the G35 - as a general statement anyway (I can't speak for you). I shoot LTD with a G22 and I like it better then the G35 (I sold mine). However, I am the minority on that position. I see lots of 35's and almost no 22's in competition.
  10. For the guys that have the Advantage Arms upper - a few questions: 1. What ammo are you using? * a 40 grain high velocity round? * lead or copper coated bullet? * The copper coated bullets are more expensive, but wouldn't they run cleaner? 2. How often do you have to clean them? * do they need to be cleaned often? * do you need to keep them pretty wet with oil? 3. Are the mags trouble/maintenance free?

    Improving A Vanek

Heath - what diameter for the Cobalt , Ti bit? Thanks.
  12. Flex, What follower/base pad/mag do you use toe get 20 + 1?
  13. Flex - I still get 19+1 with the new mags/followers. I never reliably got 20 + 1 with any mags. Do you?
  14. The contour is a little different. Also, the 5's connect to the mag spring by hooking the spring through a hole in the follower. The 6's don't have the hole and press into the top coil of the spring.
  15. yep - with my Arrendondo base pads and ISMI 140 mm springs. I did have two jams at Area 6 where the slide didn't go all the way into battery. However, I think that was caused by my left thumb touching and slowing the slide. The jams went away when I put the stock recoil spring back in my G22. I took out an extremely worn 15# ISMI spring. That's a long way to say that I've had no problems with the mags, IMO. Have you had any problems?
  16. I shot in the same squad with Daniel. He's a super nice guy and an excellent shooter. His dad - Andy - accompanied him at the match. Andy is also a quality guy. Cy
  17. Eric - no I didn't. I would have loved to see it. Sorry I missed you at A6. What squad were you in?
  18. Alright - I did some more searching and found some threads. It looks like most guys like the Advantage Arms model the best, but EricW had some mixed results with his. Any updates from the guys that use these conversions? Thx.
  19. Glock 22 lr conversion upper I’ve been playing with the idea of getting .22 long rifle conversion upper for my Glock and plinking steel with it. I’m sure this topic has been covered before, but the search function didn’t dig up any threads. Who has one that they like (or don’t like). Advantage Arms, Ciener, Marvel? What’s a decent price? Last question: for those of you that have one, do you actually shoot it or does it just sit in the safe? Thanks for your thoughts.
  20. Roger, I RO'ed stage 5 on Fri, so I knew it very well (and had a jam and still didn't shoot it very well). However, I didn't walk any other stages. I don't see that as a meaningful advantage and but there's no way of keeping the ROs/set up crew off the stages. As long as the rule is enforced, I don't see anything wrong with it. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have the stages open after-hours, but it's the match director's choice under the rules.
  21. At the Area 6 match last weekend I handled Stu Williams' Open gun with a Grams-modified Docter sight. The dot was very bright and the sight was milled into the slide. If you decide to go for the Docter, I recommend you contact Beven Grams.
  22. Nemo, Nice to meet you and your sons. They both shot very well. I wish I could shoot that well as a 12 year old! BTW - here are the winners: * LTD - Shannon Smith (well done Shannon!) * Open - Max Jr. * Prod - Dave S * LTD 10 - Daniel Horner * Rev - Jerry M It was a great match with tons of good shooters. Thanks most of all to Cindy and Bill Noyes for putting on the match. Cy
  23. Idk if thats a good answer or not. I'll be left w/o a trigger for awhile i guess. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Please let us know how it turns out.
  24. DT, I run one and like it. I run the 5 lbs Ghost Rocket because it has a shorter reset than the 3 lbs (just like the Glocks parts). PM me if you have any questions.
