  1. Hey Dwight I've got some pads called the H-570 which are "oversize". They are normally $35/ea, but I can do $30/ea. How many do you want, I can add to your order and ship on same. I'll also add C-More screws. think i have some. Let me know asap, I'm on my way to Europe in 12 hours...
  2. They were just finished today and the most badass rad shirt to date.. In honor of the Viking spirit I had a local artist draw up this skeleton bad to the bone Viking ready for battle. Always seeking battle and currently heading to Serbia for the 2010 IPSC European Championship Already uploaded and available in the "apparel" section of the shop. I'll be on the Norwegian Team at the Europeans so I'll be in Norwegian flag shirt for the main match Monday - Friday, but for the Saturday shoot off expect me wearing the Viking Spirit shirt. Can't wait to get there and do battle.. I'm heading out this Thursday (in about 36 hours). I'll be continuing my shooting practice in Norway next week where I join my team mates. Then we 'set sail' to rape and pillage the land crabs in old eastern Europe. Skål !
  3. We talked on the phone a bit on this and I am not sure what it is. Anyone who can think of what it may be, please post. Not necessary to know the absolute answer. The things that've come to my mind is: - Slide speed is too fast for the magazine to pick up the round. Slide is lightened, but same as the European model. If the slide cycles too fast and the magazine isn't able to push up the next cartridge quick enough, it may catch the round not in the back or cause a weird feeding problem. - Magazine feed lips. His are 0.385" and he runs his ammo through a push thru die. I think it's the dillon die, not the Lee undersized. Could be a mis-match between the feedlips and diameter of the case. I run factory spec 0.420" - 0.421" diameter with the un-touched feedlips. I rollsize, but they are not under 0.419" diameter. I have shot some with the 0.415" diameter after push-thru which stacks a lot better in mags, but you need to push in the feedlips and I did that on a few mags. I mostly run the feedlips straight instead of pushed in on front and 0.420". His feedlips being pushed in, there might be an issue with feedlips vs case diameter causing strange feeding? - Since he's shooting Limited 10 and using Grams 11-coil kits in 141mm mags; possible to use even heavier springs (12-coil) to push up more. This might be a reach, but would keep the 10 rounds up in the mag mo' ready ;-) - Extractor. It's normally easy to tune it, but should be inspected. - Feedramp. Unless touched shouldn't be an issue. - Ammo. Always should take a close look at the dimensions and condition of the brass, OAL and bullet type / shape. Please post a picture of a close-up of your rounds standing up and take pic from side. All I can think of for now and probably most of what we talked about on the phone. I don't have that much experience with sizing down the brass and tuning the feedlips to match. Cha-lee, I'll see you in a few at our match in Aurora this morning. When you get a chance, can you post whatever you can think of ?
  4. The OAL of your 10mm loads will be a big factor. You want to get 10mm rounds as close to 1.200" as possible. I know lot of the 10mm factory loads go up to 1.265" which when you stack them and measure them diagonally will touch front to back in the magazine. You can run your ammo through a towel lightly soaked with car polish. This will make them more slippery and reduce some of the friction. Also, Wolff extra power mag springs help. This is a common problem among Elite 10mm owners. If you reload, make them 1.200" and find a bullet shape that cones more which will reduce the chance of front to back interference inside the mag body. You can call me at 720 352 1080 for further assistance. Henning
  5. I've ran about 2lb triggers on my guns for a very long time. With the EGW hammer/sear, my trigger pins, flat trigger, Huening roller head etc you could get the weight really close to 1.0 lb if you wanted to. That's a little light for me. Currently I like it just under 2.0 lbs and crisp.
  6. The Henning Contour Checkered H-152C is the correct grip for the Elite Match. ;-)
  7. I have the factory wood grips for the Match on my webshop. I also have my aluminum checkered grips which is much nicer than the wood. Better grip and even slightly smaller than the wood.
  8. I am glad to hear that. After having such fine parts as the EGW hammer and sear, I got more and more upset about the original pins and eventually made my own. Using the reamer and getting those two crucial parts fitted tightly ensures a consistent trigger pull. Next step is get a custom made sear housing and trigger bar. I have all the other parts already ;-). And at some point I am hoping to be able to get - as you say - fitted frame, slide barrel from the factory so that I can build up a truly custom competition ready Limited 40 available for sale. It should save us all some money not having to buy a gun and throw a bunch of the factory parts out in lieu of true competition parts. We're getting there.. and one day it'll happen. I do appreciate such fine feedback as yours as I spend a lot of time tinkering and pondering how I can improve these fine pistols. I'm getting my main Limited 40 coated in Matte Black today. It'll be done by Rocky Mountain Arms who provides their Bearcoat finish which you can also find on Les Bear pistols. I've tweaked and tuned my gun for the past two months and shot about 20k rounds through it. It's now at the point where I feel it's ready for the European Championships. The finishing touch will be the BearCoat Black with the rear and front sights in "Flat Black". They promised to turn it around in a day or two and as soon as I've got it back together I'll post some pictures. Still debating if I should go red grips/magwell or clear or black. We'll see. Either will look great. The modified rear sights I've machined to my liking will eventually be the pre-runner for a competition rear sight we will R&D and hopefully manufacture this fall/winter. ;-) Henning
  9. Edwin I modify my Huening rollers the same way. It is necessary to round it to make sure the roller is working correctly. I've done one for George and sent it to him and I know he's working on generation two of them. I also use a lighter spring that I make. I'm hoping to have a selection of lighter springs available soon. The guy doing them for me isn't super quick, but he makes good springs. So I'll have a 0.018", 0.019" and 0.020" wire diameter trigger plunger spring for tuning purposes.
  10. The text saying that the spring has to take a set is probably old and based on the original H-140 basepads. The new (2 years running now) are the H-141 basepads which are quite a bit bigger. I can take a brand new Grams kit with 11-coil spring and immediately load 21 rounds in it. That is... with new brass or correctly resized brass. If you are using used brass that is not resized back to factory specs or smaller may not get 21.
  11. I was able to find some longer 3mm screws that can be used to raise the Match rear adjustable sight. It's not made for it and won't have the click adjustment, but you could file the screw to length by having it screwed in to the bottom. It's what I'm doing on my Limited / Supersights right now for my IPSC Standard setup. It'll be a temporary fix until I've got the new sights.
  12. Well that sucks. Not sure why it's happening to you. The frames may vary a little in how tight the pin sits in the frame. If it's tight it probably doesn't rotate as much as so doesn't cause the nut to get unscrewed. I have a few guns I don't use anything as they don't rotate or unscrew. On my main gun right now I do use red loctite. On the left side of my gun I use skateboard tape which I in the last match put over the nut so it would fall out if it were to unscrew accidentally. However.. the screw is probably the problem/cause so you may want to try to find a way to stop the screw from moving out on the right side if you can. Or use stronger loctite maybe ? It's not been a great problem for me, but every gun varies a little in dimensions and I understand how annoying losing the nut can be. If anyone has a better idea for a pin/nut that is "as easy" to implement as the nut/screw system please let me know. It's not the cleanest way to do it, but it seems to be on of the better ways to be able to dis/assemble the trigger system and have a solid pin for a more accurate trigger.
  13. Thanks ! btw on the comment on "American Made". I'm sure Ben Stoeger is ;-), but Beretta's origin is as Italian as Tanfoglio.. In fact, Beretta is the oldest gun manufacturer in the world tracing back to the early 1500's. And interestingly enough.. Beretta is the neighbor of Tanfoglio in the small town of Brescia in the northern part of Italy. I've visited Tanfoglio (Fratelli Tanfoglio) a couple of times in my shooting career, lately in June this year and I actually took a picture of "Armi Beretta" as I drove past their factory on my way to Tanfoglio. I'm a little busy, but if I can find the picture on my laptop I'll post it. Tanfoglio started their manufacturing in the mid 1900's, and their family name can be traced back to the late 1400's. Beretta became world famous when the military adopted their guns and Beretta USA was formed. Beretta may have manufacturing in the US as well, that I don't know anything about, but I thought it's interesting how products are marketed and perceived. Both are originally Italian and from the same small town..
  14. They are available in checkered and smooth surface in several different color finishes. For the magwell guns the small frame grips is called H-160: Grip Panels
  15. Also note that i have them available for small frame models as well !
  16. In all humbleness... the new magwell is awesome. And combined with the contour grips in either smooth or checkered surface it's a winning combination. We just finished up making hundreds of grips and magwells so I'm offering 25% off on combo-deals when you get both the magwell and grip at the same time. It's the way to get them and to set up your gun for that extra competitive edge. Fits all Tanfoglio / EAA Witness models with SQUARE TRIGGER GUARD. This means all version of the Limited gun, the open guns (Gold Team, Custom, Eric etc). Even fits the six inch guns such as the Hunter, Gold Match. I just made this page so it's not linked from any other places yet. As soon as I get back from US Area 3 I'll take some better pictures with grip & magwell together on frames and post. 17. What I'm doing in this run of front sights is making even more options possible: Front Sight Heights: .140" tall will be good for the factory Match LPA rear sight. .165" tall looks good with the Limited Supersight with 0.100" - .105" deep rear notch .180" tall will look good with the planned Fixed Rear sight for Limited. My production plan is to have a competition grade (also good for carry) fixed rear sight solution for both Limited and Match. For the Match this will mean being able to put a taller front sight on your gun so you can shoot it better. This has been the biggest complaint I have about the Match. Once we've tackled all that and I'm done with Europeans and US Nationals I'm hoping to build the height adjustable/collapsible rear sight for Limited that will take IPSC Standard Division to a 20 + 1 capacity in combination with my newest base pads. The base pads are almost ready.
  18. Front Sights: We've finished running the magwells (for large and small frame) and grips for all models. So, we've got our main machine running iFiber front sights again. They have been very popular and this is what I've got on the list to make this time: iFiber 0.095" x 0.165" (current model) iFiber 0.105" x 0.165" (current model) iFiber 0.095" x 0.140" (special low for match and stock with factory rear sights) iFiber 0.095" x 0.180" (higher for Limited for those who want a taller front sight. Will also work for 1911 very well) iFiber 0.105" x 0.180" (higher for Limited for those who want a taller front sight. Will also work for 1911 very well) Black Front 0.090" x 0.180" (traditional matte black front sight for those who doesn't like fiber sights) Any interest in any wider black front sights or any other widths ? If so, please email me. Rear Sights: As some of you know, I will be competing at the IPSC Europeans in Serbia so I am shooting a lot these days and also working on my gun a lot. This has resulted in two things: I absolutely cannot deal with the factory rear sights any more.. so ... for USPSA Limited and IPSC Production division I will be making a new fixed rear sight to replace the "supersight". In my guns using the iFiber 0.165" I have found that my rear sight is sighted in at about 0.520" tall rear. Not sure if I'll be making several heights, but I will be making the 0.180" and 0.165" fronts so that will be one way to adjust. And if necessary we can make a few different heights. I like my rear notch depth to be 0.120" and currently running a 0.140" wide rear with my 0.095". Yes I know... it's wide, but I like it. I'll make several width and make it so that it's easy to open up wider if you want. Anyways... feedback highly appreciated and maybe we should start a poll. But first let's get a few thoughts going on what you wall want for rear sights. Secondly, I have some thoughts on making an IPSC Standard rear sight. On my current gun that I'll be using in the Europeans I've cut 0.063" 0.067" off the top (sight was crooked). This allows the sight to be compressed more and ... I can use a base pad that is 0.060" bigger. This means that I will probably have a magazine setup where I can start with 20 + 1 and reload to 19. We are currently making a lot of different base pads specifically for IPSC Standard Division to achieve this. Cha-Lee and I already were able to fit 20 rounds in my mag using his 0.415" diam ammo, his follower and my H-570 basepad with a 0.035" bottom floor. We'll now I'm making pads that will be 0.040", 0.060" and 0.080" bigger. Still in testing, but will be ready and in use at Europeans. Modifying the factory Supersight is possible for anyone who want to achieve this kind of magazine capacity. By the fall/winter I hope to have a competition semi-adjustable IPSC Standard rear sight that'll hold up to abuse, have a nice, clean blade with a notch that is matched to my front sights. Input and requests please post. If anyone want instructions and be able to have a setup like mine prior to the IPSC Europeans please email me. In about 2 weeks I'll have base pads ready and that'll be the main ticket. Next step is for you to machine your rear sight like I have and you can show up in Serbia with a way-above average competitive setup.. It's all about winning..
  19. Yes, it's an old factory mag release. I had a few back in the days. Didn't fit my hand that well, but I'm sure it'll be great for many. I'm doing some testing right now on a magrelease that I had made. It will be drilled and tapped and I'll have at least one button with it. It's taken a while because of manufacturing, but at least one is in my gun and I'm trying to work out any potential bugs and make the design as good as possible.
  20. Give me a call tomorrow if you've got a chance.
  21. Hey Dave You should contact EAA and try to buy a Hunter 10mm slide (only). Then get a Briley 40 S&W barrel (6"). I have the special guide rod and everything else you need for the upper. Make sure the slide comes with sights. ;-) Henning
  22. The match rear sights suck, no way around that. I'll be working on creating a few prototype fixed rear sights both for Match and Limited. Possibly making one for the Limited this Thursday. We'll see how long I can stand staying at the mill.. have lots of other projects to do as well. But I want to get something going on the rear sight. It may lead to an adjustable rear sight for the limited.
  23. USPSA 170 power factor load: 180 Zero 4.65 grains of Hodgdon Clays Winchester Small Pistol Primer Starline 40 S&W brass (new) IPSC 175 power factor load: 180 Zero 4.8 - 4.9 grains of Hodgdon Clays Winchester Small Pistol Primer Starline 40 S&W brass (new) Hodgdon Clays is very similar to N-310 and gives a nice, quick and snappy recoil.
  24. Dan, Did you report this back to Saul ? He might be interested in your feedback if you haven't already done so.
