  1. Mark, I will happily discontinue my discussion of "little sh*t" as soon as I receive a payment from you in the amount of $375 for replacement of 3 holster and magpouch setups. As of the first of the year they were legal and performed the same EXACT function as equipment that would comply with the current rules, however they simply do not comply with an ARBITRARY standard (light in the belt tunnel and 50% coverage). You can remit either by USPS MO or paypal (don't forget the 3%). Until then I will reserve the right to discuss legitimate issues that have arisen with the new rulebook. As for the arrogance you display in trivializing a significant expense to another, simply because it will likely not effect you or it does not meet your significant meter, is very symbolic of the attitude from IDPA that "If you don't like it, tough". This attitude is at the very core of the current rules debate. As a matter of fact the uproar has even caused IDPA HQ to understand that not addressing the "little sh*t" will quickly lose you members. You may want to reconsider your position as well. 2. To be honest I would turn my list upside down and start with number 6 and work from there with #4 on down being optional. Reloads are pretty good in a Glock but I like my magwell for the way it secures my grip, try a gun with T gr before you buy I liked steel in mine just fine and didn't feel a huge diff with the tungsten, the trigger might be nice but for the money I would get Charlie Vanek's, and you may find your barrel is fine for IPSC purposes,. Also, I know of other people running the 13's with major pf ammo but my gun would have a few problems. When I switched to a 15 pounder it solved it. I think I had just a bit too much slide speed. Just by both and you can see the difference in how they feel as well. Craig
  3. Done find us one half way between spokan and salt lake and I'm there! Some would say I am sucker for a good beatin, but I say whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger, but why did it only apply to my aroma?
  4. Are these IDPA legal? With the kneepad pockets and the title being Holster Pocket Pants I would think they would be for competition only and promptly banished Craig
  5. Rhino, From reading many postings and asking a lot of q's on the precision rifle forums lately I would have to give a +1 to Chris' post. I would add that on the lower end the gamble becomes bigger. By that I mean, what one guy thinks is ok may not be worth a crap with your eyesight etc. Also you tend to start getting a lot of variability scope to scope. In all things you get what you pay for and it is very very evident in optics. Craig
  6. Rhino, You are not suggesting Eric would be dissatisfied with a piece of equipment?
  7. Rhino, Personally I don't see that there would be a strength/durability difference between the stock screws. But according to YHM they say there screw is stronger, so I bought one as a spare even though my stock thumbscrew is going strong. Craig
  8. I have had no problem with Delta, or Continental either. I am sure that is not due to the case being OK but rather the general incompetence of the personnel working the ticket counter. Does it bug anyone else that they ask you to declare the gun unloaded when there is very little chance that the person asking you could determine the difference? Craig
  9. RS, Avoid the olympic ammo like the plague. Also avoid JP sales. I bought the olympic from them in Prescott, went out that afternoon, my gun could not extract the brass due to the overpressure. I immediately returned to them and was told "Everyone knows this is hot ammo". No help whatsoever. Anyway done with the little rant, but I have had very good luck with the new polymer coated WOLF as far as function and accuracy goes. Craig
  10. FWIW I have been using an EO in 3gun for the last 3 years with no mount problems at all. I have also taken the gun to Gunsite twice and several SWAT trainings without a problem. It has been removed on several occasions and it re zeros just fine. I haven't punched paper to see if its sub MOA or not but to 300 yds my hits go where I put them. Granted the failures I have heard about have been around the mount but for $5 bones Yankee Hill Machine makes a nice replacement screw. I keep an extra but it has just sat since I bought it. Craig
  11. My MOR setup weighs in at 13 lbs. Recoil? What Recoil? When it gets a can fitted next year it will be exceptionally sweet. The reason for 308 in MOR is the steel beyond 600 yds. There are other calibers that will do it but the 308 is like the 9mm of rifles. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting someone who is a worthwhile resource for it. Cheap brass, tons of load info, bullets galore, etc.etc.etc.
  12. Mark, No we don't. This is one of the rules that has changed. First it was 50%, now it is down to 2 inches which is much more reasonable. Once the membership began making their voices heard BW et al became much more amenable to change. It is now time to ably ariticulate our points and improve the rules. There is no mandate that says what is said from on high we must follow. If that is your choice fine, however it is not the choice of many others who are looking for either clarification or another organization to shoot under. Craig
  13. Mark, I think what he is trying to point out is that what exactly does 2" or 50% have to do with function. One could produce a full coverage mag holder that was useless and conversely one that covers only 25% that is bulletproof. The holster rules have seemed to want to dictate holster/magpouch design rather than their use and function. If your mag pouch is concealable and secure and your holster keeps the gun in the correct position (3/4") and is concealable and secure, what difference does it make how it is designed? Craig

    New SO

Clay, For what its worth I read Ted's other post. With all due respect, I cannot imagine how you interpreted that he purposely would try to defeat his safety with lube. That ability alone makes it scary as hell to trust someone with overseeing rule enforcement. You immediately assumed the worst instead of simply seeing it as a cleaning oversight. In a nutshell those types of attitudes are what causes 99% of the complaints about the rules. The SO's are there to make sure everyone has a SAFE and FUN time, they are not there to hand out tickets for rules infractions. Please don't take this as a personal indictment, I am just trying to point out how the job of SO can be taken far away from its intention. Craig
  16. Rhino, First, don't sell what you have. I have a few guns that rarely if ever see the light of day yet their sentimental value makes them worth everything to me. Second, If you think you may be serious about the MOR setup, save some cabbage and you can set up a very nice rifle for around $1000. I just got done going through all the research for mine, so here goes. 1) Remington 700 PSS or LTR in .308: very nice used guns can be easily found in the $500-$550 range by watching the for sale forums on most of the sniper/precision rifle sites, most easily shoot sub moa out of the box, there is no shortage of gunsmiths or aftermarket goodies. The 308 works out to 1k and a little farther, has good knockdown on steel, and gives you very long barrel life. There are other rifles that work just as well (savage, cz etc.) however only the remmy will go into the AICS that you will want purchase later on to allow for faster mag changes 2) TPS base and rings $100. Great quality and performance for less than half of what badgers et al cost. 3) Super Sniper scope 10x rear focus. $300. You might want to upgrade glass later but for the money it has a ranging reticle and very nice glass. 4) Sling and Bipod $100 bones if you keep a sharp eye on the want ads or can find a gun that comes with them. Until then you can use a ruck for the bipod and a sling you already have for the time being. Although 308 is more expensive than 223 to shoot, it is fairly reasonable to reload and is fairly easy to make match grade ammo on the dillon you may already have with tons of good recipes available. Also when it comes time to rebarrel, customize, etc you have more choices if you choose to switch to a more racy caliber. Good luck, Craig
  17. Doesn't that make them advertised as for the purpose of competition and thus not suitable for the sport of IDPA.
  18. Thanx for the replies. That has been the jist of my email to HQ. My arguement was simply that the "spirit and intent" of the holster rule was to maintain the positioning of the gun close to the body for concealment purposes. In all instances the 3/4 inch rule accomplishes this task. The light in the tunnel rule however in no way guarantees the intended goal. The one purpose the light rule does accomplish is making many otherwise legal holsters illegal. Given this situation I asked that IDPA try not to control the design features of holsters but instead provide a rule that maintains the function of the holsters. I feel the 3/4 inch rule provides regardless of a persons body or holster type. Take care Craig
  19. Matt, Totally agreed. BW does own it. However as an owner of a business he should be a little more receptive when there are complaints of his product and service. For instance, I know another business owner that I purchased a product from that had a slight problem in its final function. HE could have chosen to simply say "I can do whatever I want, I own it". However HE actually informed his customers of the flaw and offered a replacement with no questions asked. Excellent service. Thanks. Craig
  20. Benny Steve and Rev, Thank you very much. If my holster got any closer to my gut it would never see daily carry. RGS I know what the rules state. What I am asking for is an explanation of the purpose for no light in the belt tunnel. What exactly does designing a holster with strict belt to holster relationship accomplish that the 3/4 inch rule doesn't?
  21. KD One could argue that we should have never been on this road to begin with. If BW had polled, solicited, or followed posts in this forum for the past several months many of these problems could have been avoided. It has taken a borderline revolt to clue them in that the membership refuses "taxation without representation". Craig
  22. I am trying to formulate my question to IDPA HQ concerning the belt tunnel requirement for holsters. My point has been that as long as the gun and holster combo satisfy the 3/4 inch maximum distance from the body, the belt tunnel requirement seems to be inconsequential. Is there something that I am missing? Thanx, Craig
  23. John, With your permission I would like to add one word to your quote. "They don't like COMPETITIVE shooting." In my experience it seems that those who avoid the competitive side of IDPA are the same individuals who are most in favor the more stringent measures. Thanx, Craig
  24. TX My bad I should have read the first line Thanx for the patience, Craig
