  1. Tom, Here is some reasonably priced, new super brass. Super Brass Take care, Craig
  2. Scooter, Don't make it sound like putting a P7 back together is that easy! Took one apart once! ONCE!
  3. I love my SX2. It is the only competition gun that has not seen a dime of work except for the application of 3gun gear shell carriers. I think the sighting system on the SX2 MKI is by far the best setup for three gun as well. Good luck, Craig
  4. TL, I like the 40 a little better than the 9 although I think the diff is pretty small. I haven't shot a super but I would assume it is the same as a 9 at minor pf. I perceive a lot less gun movement in the 40 versus the nine and the recoil impulse is somewhat elongated. I shoot 180 gr bullet over 3.6grs of TG. With a light 155gr bullet it feels very much more like a 9. There aren't too many people at my club with an S-I at my club and when folks shoot it for the first time they actually think its a 9 because of the lack of recoil and the softness. Craig
  5. I shoot a 5 inch SVI short dustcover bushing barreled .40. It runs in ESP. With 40 loads at minor pf it is a very smooth/soft gun. Craig
  6. Bedell Custom Shorty in 9mm 7port Titanium Comp oal: 9 inches cut govt. slide Sheumann AET Commander Bull barrel 4.5"
  7. Stu, You don't have to thank me, thank Dan, I still get all giddy like a school girl when I get an email from him. His work is incredible. Take care, Craig
  8. I was emailing Dan today talking about his fishing trip and his impending addiction to all things associated with bass fishing and he sent me some pics of a new shorty he built. In a neverending effort to give the masses what they ask for Dan has some new options for his shorty open guns. For those who want the weight of a five inch gun but the cycle speed of a shorty he has a taken a full profile slide and paired it up with a long wide dustcover. Here are some pics.
  9. DP, I have been thinking more about your post and you are right when you speak about the raw sexuality, beauty, romance etc.... that just drips off of latin women in South America. It is definitely something you have to experience to understand. There is no way to explain it to someone who hasn't tasted it. BTW here's another for your list Don't ever plan on getting out of a restaurant before 11pm and then warm up and stretch out white boy you're dancing til 5 in the morning.
  10. Please give him a sincere THANK YOU and let him know how incredibly important what he has done is to those of us stateside. Thanx, Craig
  11. OK, OK, OK You guys have seen the shiny carbon fiber and oh the bolt release is so trick. Enough with Jerry's newfound fetish for Benelli's. Now let him get back to what he is supposed to be doing. DREAMING UP A SPEED CHUTE FOR THE GOLD/SX2. Take care, Craig PS Jerry that is pretty strong work.
  12. DP, Man you bring back memories. My dad lived in Chile for 7 years. When I was in college I would go visit a couple times a year and........... Anyway too bad he moved home. He did however get married while he was there to Angela (18 year age difference..f*&(%^ dirty old man). Take care, Craig
  13. I haven't heard anything. I have a 13lb ISMI from Topglock in my 35 and have 10k+ of mostly minor ammo with no problems. Good luck, Craig
  14. 40, How do the 115's feel in comparison to the 124's? Is there appreciable differences and dot track etc with the 115? I am currently using 8.2 grs of Power Pistol and zero 125's. I will try Silhouette next. Thanx, Craig
  15. Does anyone know of a any open gun projects built on the SX2 or Gold platforms? I'm hoping Jerry will chime in with a response of "I'll be shipping them in a week!". I am thinking of building an open shotgun but I love my SX2 and would like another choice other than the Benelli. (no I won't even consider a remmy) Thanx in advance, Craig
  16. I am thinking for 2bills a trial run will be in my future. I would like to find the specs but I haven't had any luck so far. Bushnell's site is not updated yet. I am gonna keep looking and see what I can find. Craig
  17. I wonder if Flex feels like his 35 is a disadvantage Itento, My intention is not flame you but there are pro's and con's of each platform. Yes weight, customization, and a better trigger might be distinct advantages for the S-I guns but on the other hand you can afford to attend TWO weeks of top tier training for the cost difference in buying a Glock. I will guarantee you that $1500-$2000 worth of training will kick the snot out of $1500-$2000 worth of gunsmithing every day and twice on Sunday. Lukipsc, Depending on what level you shoot, I think it can be very misleading to pattern what you need after how some GM's have set up their gun. This is where an honest discussion needs to happen between you and your gunsmith or you and a couple of more experienced shooters to help you find what will work for you. Top Tier GM's are looking for any available edge in their setup and may be willing to accept compromises in other areas for that edge. Whereas a B or C shooter may need a completely different setup to help their shooting progress. Talk to many people about their setups, shoot as many as you can, take an honest assessment of your current abilities and where you want to take them, and then decide which platform and what customizations would most benefit the goals you have chosen for yourself. Take care, Craig
  18. I wonder what the weight is and whether or not you could get it to fit on an allchin/dawson/STI mount? It might have potential as an option to C mores on open guns. Craig
  19. I use the CR speed and I enjoy the flexibility of the full race holster, but I find that it did not make me more than about a tenth faster. If you decide that Kydex is the way to go give Greg at Comp-tac a try. His locking paddly is an excellent piece of kit as well and he can whip one up for your full dust cover in a hurry. Good luck Craig
  20. You can also get any of the tubes listed as "Win Choke" in Brownells. I bought the Colonial Arms brand and they work just fine. Craig
  21. As an update to the Badger bottom metal, Marty apparently is waiting for AI to begin magazine production again so that he can have an adequate stock of mags to go with his new product. He expects that too happen sometime this summer. I like my AICS but I would love to try a MCM A5 as well. Take care, Craig
  22. Vett, I decided on Dan's Shorty in 9mm with a titanium comp and no blowholes. I have had no problem making major and finding loads that work in the gun. Some say that you are limited in powders compared to 38 super which is true but there are still several that work well (SP2, 3n37, 3n50, True Blue, Silhouette, Power Pistol, Longshot....). Personally not having to search the ground for brass is well worth the trade off. Locally I can get a five gallon bucket full of once fired 9mm for $50 which makes my brass cost about 1/2 cent. Ultimately the choice betwee 9mm and super is yours but don't let your apprehension over loading 9major be the deciding factor. IMO it just isn't any harder than finding a load for any other gun. Good luck, Craig
  23. Vett, I am new to Open as well. I have had my Bedell Shorty in 9mm since October of 04 and I love it. I don't feel qualified to tell you what you need or want but I came to my decision after several searches here on the board and most importantly, Chuck and Dan's advice. Don't be afraid to call/email either of them and ask your questions. In my experience both of them will take all the time you need to explain the pros and cons and get you what you need. They are very concerned with having happy, satisfied, and repeat customers. I talked to both of them extensively and wound up with a gun I am very happy with. As soon as funds stack up Dan will be getting my order for a new limited gun as well. Good luck with your purchase, you won't be disappointed. Take care, Craig
